ahh alright . yea, couldn't make out whether there were 2 or 4.

sucks about the mites. lucky they not on the other NL and Cinnamon! wonder where they came from? what's Malathoin..? i use this Oleum stuff, works very good and kills a multitude of pests :D

Malathion is a nasty smelling insecticide, I don't dig using it too much. Got a heavy chemical feel to it.

You can find it if you search for Malathion 50EC on www.efekto.co.za

But suprisingly I actually found an organic inseticide today. Kurchhoff's - Luwig's Insect Spray +. Contains canola oil, garlic extract, pyrethin and other not too dangerous stuff.

I'm gonna give this a whirl rather than the Malathion and see how it goes. Instruction say to mix 30ml per litre and spray every 5 days. After a bout 3 applications I should be OK...

Hi All

Better give all u stoners an update seeing as there been no action on this thread for over 10 days!!!! My fault a bit, I've been down to the EC for a long weekend.

Anyways, when I got back I saw that my NL had pushed herself on nicely... :woohoo:

You can see the branching is looking really good now, it won't be long before she gets the top again. Right now she is on 8 branches...

nice blunt.
hey man, do you find that the exposed perlite dries out the bucket quickly? i used perlite the first time i tried to grow in my closet, and after a while it all floated to the top of the mix, and because i had no active ventilation it caused a very humid microclimate around the plant. i installed a fan and that solved the problem, but it caused the perlite to dry out the medium super-fast.
later when i got into growing shrooms, i actually started using perlite to achieve 100+ RH in my fruiting chamber, go figure.

about the organic pesticides: fresh is cheaper and works better.
if you've got some space outdoors then you should plant some chillies and garlic which are the standard home-brew pesticide ingredients, as well as pyrethrum (Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium), which is what they get the pyrethrin from. use these to make a strong tea and use it all up once you've made it, it doesn't keep well.

Nice one guys.

I'm actually moving house this week and have got a place that has a decent garden, naturally I've got 'plans' for this garden which includes a little bit of homegrown...vegetables LOL.

About the perlite issue there Sat, I've noticed that the Cin clone's bucket dried out quicker, which I'd say was due to the higher levels of perlite. Humidity is not a problem cause these 2 grows are not in an enclosed space. Basically I pop them under some CFL's at night and then by a sunny window during the day.

This is gonna change in the next 2 weeks though. I'm gonna be receiving a Prolite 400W HPS system in the next week or so, along with a carbon scrubber, a Plantastar 400W bulb and a few other sundries. I'm gonna make what I think will be my final cab for a while, so I'm gonna do it proper... then maybe issue like humidity etc will come into play.

I'll do a cab build thread when I get started...
