CK... your girls look GREAT!! It looks like u are giving them a perfect environment, food and light. I've heard good things about kabloom for yield. I also think keeping nitrogen levels low at this point will help with color and taste in the end. its good if the plant uses a majority of the nitrogen it has stored before harvest, flushing should help with this as well. I saw an ad in High Times for a product called Purple Maxx (http://www.eelriverhydroponics.com/...CTGY&Store_Code=ERH&Category_Code=ProductInfo)...but i have read nothing about it.
Whatever u decide, I think u will have good results.

Ono Nadagin & Playaction - Thanks for the heads up & 411... I definately am looking to increase my yields this time around. In the past I just ran the 3 straight GH brands, nothing for roots & flowering. I will look into both kool bloom & the purple maxx. I beleive 20K dreams had good things to say bout the MAXX from eel river as well.

gaiusmarius - Thanks again for the kind words & yeah, the anticipation is building up... I used to run a 4x4 & 1000W, I then upgraded to the 4x8 & light rail, now with 2000W & the 4x8 I'm supa stoked. I am trying to be patient, but if all goes as planned I should be sitting on 2 Ps of quality purps!!! No April Fools here - lol.

I emptied the resivor late last night after noticing a lil bit of brown tips on some of the leaves, it was just a lil bit but I figured why not. There was little to no setiment / coco on the bottom of the res, I was kinda suprised there wasnt more... It has been 5 weeks since my last flush / empty. Going to give it a day of 6.0 water & then put back in the GH line & head to the local hydro shop thur or fri to pick up something to boost the flowering. Thx all 4 the help!!!

i know a few people like to flush that way, letting the tank stay nute free for a day. but i have found it to have a negative effect if done at the wrong moment. i once had a crop ripen up on me because i starved them out of the blue, specially in an automated dripper setup, the plants are used to regular nourishment. now i know, some growers swear by this way of flushing, so i leave it up to you. my way of flushing i run the pump for a half hour or more in one go, then i'll add the nutes to the tank and make sure that the next feed is with nutes again, maybe at a lower concentration, but only if the plants show symptoms of getting too much food.

if you feed every other day anyway, then it's no big deal to flush in one day and only go to nutes again next watering. but with a dripper setup, you can really disrupt the plants rhythm if you suddenly starve it, before it's time for the end flush.

gaiusmarius - thnx for the 411, I run & ebb & flow system, they were flushed 2x in 24 hours with clear & now back to about 75% nutes. I believe they should be OK, if its good for em, that I'm not sure. I will bump them back up to 100% in a couple days, I wanna run by the shop & pick up koolbloom & add it in on the next fill / update. I'll check back in on sat/sun.

Heya take a shot of the root zone where your coco pots meet the mat pls, do you have any sort of cover to stop the light from hitting the roots where they exit the pots and go for the mat... I would assume they dont go straight down, rather spread out of the bottom edge and into the mat.... ty, just asking you about things I have wondered myself... :) speaking of have you found that the recirculating e&f nutes through the coco substrate alters your rezs ph, causing fluctuations?

I have been planning an E&F as soon as I can get the 14 plants I need for my table but to be honest the thoguht of battling my rez is starting to reallly make me think of going to a drip feed system and run to drain(captured and recycled for outdoor grows)

awesome grow man,...i'd highly suggest pk-13/14 as a bloom additive,...really packs the weight on during the end,...I only use 1ml per gallon with good results,...its like viagra for those cola's!

im going to guess your final dry weight will be between 2lbs/7 oz.-2lbs/9oz.

ck...good move on the rez change when seeing the brown tips. no need to guess whats wrong. i use a e&f table, but i flush from the top to make sure salt build up on top is washed away as well. Seems salts have tendency to build up on top of coco. interested to see how koolbloom works on your gurlz in terms of color, aroma, and yield.. keep the good info coming.

Evewning fellas,

Never got to the grow store this weekend to pick up the koolbloom, got to sidetracked... I smoked some of my buddys crop off the same group of mothers & it was sweet like candy & the has on another level - incredible... This is then the same GDP we had 6 mos back & his crop was a lil less than expected... I have seen most of his go off & this one looked by far to be heavy but ended up running a lil on the light side, still 2ps - but seemed to not bulk as up as much as last one, who knows....

Mo - I have been stoked with the pots as well, just followed my buddies lead. I am thining of trying out maybe 1/2 pots & 1/2 slabs next time just to see the difference.

Ono - Sorry I didn't see this before tonight. I will try to snap one another time. I think most of the roots are going straight down out the bottoms. On the corner ones I can tilt em to the side & the matt pules up. I think I should have flooded the botttom tray a lil more during veg instead of always overloading / floosding with a hose straight down. I think it may have cause some of the roots to shoot out rather than down, or maybe there was just no room down - he he he - Ill take a shot when I snip em too.

Bullseye - thank bro, feel free to follow along, things are falling into place.

Hydro - Thx for the 411, some people say to use all every week & others for only 1 r 2 - whats your thoughts?

Play - I missed the Koolbllom run, I need to make that a priority this week. You also make a good point about the poss. buildups, a quick flood top down wouldnt hurt.

Thx for everyones 411 - much apprecitated.

Come on CK its the 4th Quarter... This is when the men are separated from the boyz. We need you to dig down and make a strong finish!! LOL

On the real dude your gurlz are blooming to full grown woman and look great. Wonder if they would even benefit from a bloom booster? The way I see it... bloom booster makes up for other areas lacking in your environment. Since you are giving your gurls so much TLC... you may not see a big difference. Think flushing is going to be your next priority. I strive to turn the fan leaves yellow during flushing so I know the plant is using the last bits of nitrogen. I believe this helps with the harness vs smoothness of your smoke.

UPDATE:

Still never made the run for the bloom booster, lifes just been a zoo lately. Ona & Play thanks for the comments & kind words. There like a fat kid n Dodgeball just waitin to be picked off ( wrong I know but still funny :pointlaug ) but I am patient.... After I think about it your right, since I'm nearing the home stretch I am gonna just ride it out. I will end up just running this batch straight GH as I did before so I have a good stare & compare to the next batch when i throw something else into the mix. My dark temp isnt where I want it with the weather warming up but still very pleased. I'm sittin @ day 38 now & the purps are startin to show on some of the tips. The frost is plenty, the top hairs are just starting to pack on the orange crush now so I think I'm lookin at a full 8 wks - not gonna rush it ( We will see if the tri's tell a diff. story ).

Res :
6.1 ( after 2 days, back down to 5.9 now )

Nutes:
3 tsp GH Bloom
2 tsp GH Micro
1 tsp CH Gro
( Cal Mag & Diamond Necter )

they seem to be coloring up slowly eh?

how much longer you think they will need? checking with a scope is the way to go for sure.

man you are gonna be in for quite a trimming session, lol.

GM - Ya they do, I am definately gonna push it 7.5 to 8 weeks depending on the trichs, right now they aren't really to a head yet form my view. I usually borrow a scope but gonna run by RS & pick one up.

I am sure one of my timers "wig"n out on me & not turning off the the HPS didnt help the kids nor the bill =( Had to be in the last 36-48 hours, but oh well, stressn over it does no good. Back on track & only 2 weeks lieft.

My buddy ran the same strain & ran bout 7 1/2 - his crop was great qlty but less on the qlty, I mean this isnt the top yielder but mine appear to be bottoming out a lil... Not bad just not swelling like the the last GDP batch I had, diff mother, diff traits - oh well.

Sorry bout the glo -

* oops ( edit - my boys last batch was great on QLTY but low on QNTY ) rather have it that way anyway but it's nice when the both work out in your favor... Were gonna run this strain / mom agian one more time & then make a dec, carry on ;)
