I'm so sorry. We have 3 that the whole family loves so much!
Give him lots of love and keep him warm and hydrated.
Sending much positive kitty energy your way....
Go to Vitality Science website. Look at the home page for similar conditions and the testimonial page for people whose pet had similar conditions. Or you can call Stephen discuss the situation, he will know what to recommend.
I am very sorry to read all the trouble you and your cat are going thru...
Some years ago I had a cat that died from FIV. She did well for a couple of years after diagnosticated, but by the end she had lost her all teeths, was not doing great.
Did you say that Nero has his shots recently, including for FIV? Wouldn't that be what showed in the test?
I'm surpriced that it takes your vet so long to get some of the results. For diabetis for example, all he needs to do is measure the cat's sugar.
In my experience, diabetis is a lot easier to handle in cats that FIV, but it does damage the liver and other organs in the long term. Homeopatic medicine seem to help with cats too.
Anyways, make sure Nero knows he's loved and looked after, they can be such great friends
hey , well the tests are now in , he has leukemia.
I have ordered the petflora product even though i feel it's a rip off , i hope the pack will arrive soon, it can't hurt to try, but he is not doing well , i am giving him antibiotics and feeding him 30 ml of liquid food a day cuz he doesn't want to eat i really have to keep encouraging him.
He is losing weight , i have taken off from work and try to spend as much time with him as i can.
i don't expect him to live for much longer i think when the antibiotics are finished he will become sick again or even die if he won't start eating decently
I recommended Vitality Science to you. If you spoke with the owner, he would direct you to a Treament Resistant Program consisting of a variety of products formulated to reinvigorate your cat's natural immune systems.
Natural remedies are scientifically proven, but since they are not patentable you won't see them being promoted by big pharma. VS website has lots of written and audio testimonials from ordinary people.
Most of us on IC know the government and big pharma are bed fellows, who have been lying to us for decades about health remedies.
All my best wishes for your little mate!,
my black cat was called Ziggy, he was a cool cat (rip zig)..
i lost 2 over the past few years, it fucked my head up, its as bad as losing a close friend..
but ive still got Clio she's 18 now and showing it a bit in the way she's slowed down,
she still come's and chills out in my room while im toking..
awww THC, I remember when you told me about your cat going potty on the toilet, thats so cool, Im sorry shes not doing good, sucks so bad. Love her as much as you can, Im sorry she not well. Hang in there bud!
Positive vibes to you!!!!! Its never easy! My dog of 10 years contracted lymphoma cancer this past year and I had to eventually put her to sleep in Oct.
But we as pet owners have to know that they wont last forever....WISH THEY DID!
Its hard I know man!!!!! Where one journey is ending another will begin! In the end you will find peace!
Sorry to hear about your little guy being so sick. Unfortunately, I am going through a very similar situation with 2 of my three little fuzz balls.
One is almost 13 yrs old and he now is in congestive heart failure. A couple months ago he was really sick and we took him to the vet, they did tests and confirmed his CHF-we almost lost him over that weekend.
He is now on several different meds and is doing actually pretty well considering. He is my secret favorite( but I love them all).
Vet says he may live a few weeks or could make it a couple more years-a lot depends on how well we take care of his med regimen and keep him from getting stressed(it seems he had a very inflammed bowel that cause the original fast deterioration, now that that is under control he is doing a lot better)
I also have about a 7 yrs old orange tabby that we took in as a stray that we found out last year has FIV( probably had it when we took him in when he was about 3). We do pay extra attention that we do no expose him to disease from other animals. Our vet says she has had several cats with FIV that have lived 10 years or more after diagnosis-so we hope for the best.
He is a Maine Coon and is built like a tank. But is as sweet as can be, love him to pieces.
His biggest problem is he has a tendency to get bladder infections, so we try to catch it before it gets to bad-so far he iis doing well.
Had to put my last guy down when he was 13 yo, that was 10 years ago and it still brings tears to my eyes thinking about it-he was fine one day, then stopped eating and drinking and was gone in less than two weeks. Just glad he did not linger.
Sending you all the best thoughts and good karma - I wish there was something more I could do for you and your little buddy.
i feel whole-heartedly for you THC..my eyes well up everytime i think of lost loves..
it always makes me feel better knowing i gave them a loving home as did you..
THC, I have had some experience with this virus and they can go into remission. Your first priority needs to get him to eat and put on weight. Get some baby food, roast beef, goat milk (they sell it at most supermarkets) whatever he likes. I know he is on a special diet but losing weight will effect his liver and immune system. You also might ask your vet if you should be giving him some fluids sub q it's not hard to do. You can also try some Hill's A/D can food it has high calories there are also pills you can give him to stimulate his appetite. Hope this helps.
Oh one last thing if you can get him in remission do not have him vaccinated again the vaccinations can trigger a relapse. And if he is not an innie only he needs to be because this is so highly contagious. Also don't beat yourself up for not having him vaccinated with the FIV vaccine it isn't all that affective and he could have had the vaccine since kittenhood.
I was able to cure my cat again but as soon as i stop with the antibiotics , after a week , he becomes sick again cuz he ain't got no immune system anymore
I also tried the petflora products , they are very healthy for cats that is clear , you see the furr shine.
But it is overpriced and doesn't do jack shit , so it is a healthy dietary supplement but that's it. So i think the way they market their product is unfair and a rip off , just as i suspected. But when desperate someone will try everything , and that's what companies like that survive on. Giving false hope.
Anywho as soon as the new antibiotics cure stops , and he becomes sick again , i will let the doctor give him a shot so he will sleep forever so he won't have to be sick all the time , that is the best option i think
I am really gonna miss my buddy and am spending as much time with him as i can
