My 10 year old cat is sick

OMG THC I am so sorry, reading your thread made me cry as my cat is my best friend an I love her so much the mere thought of losing her makes me break down. Just enjoy the time you have with him and don't put him down until he is really sickly. My dad's cat had FIV from getting attacked by a bobcat...he was the nicest cat ever but only lived a few years longer.

Ganja, that is awful. I think people who hurt cats and dogs should be executed....you have to be a piece of shit to do something like that, the worst part is you said it was a nice cat who didn't deserve to be hurt. That makes me so mad I would hunt down and kill the person. You could find out by just bitching about cats to neigbors and whoever did it will share their hatred with you and then kill them! Fuckin people who hurt animals are worthless pathetic humans who don't deserve to live....they deserve to be tortured.

I used to hate cats but then I got to see they are like lil people and so loving and innocent, they don't deserve to be hurt, especially when all they want is companionship which is something we all long for...but to hurt them for it.....I have to leave this thread its makingg me sick...

Something about that rubs me the wrong way. If there is something that can sustain his health, there must be something else in herbal form that can do the same thing. I agree that manufacturers take advantage of people when it comes to coming up with a product that works, but just like they come up with something that works, there's other things herbally that's just as effective. You to to do what you got to do, THC, but i'm not with you on this one.

There is nothin that can sustain his health at this stage. I am now giving him antibiotics. So those just kill everything good and bad.
I am also giving him the petflora products cuz they DO make him healthier but they don't sustain his immune system in such a way that it would enable him to live longer. I am sure for a healthy cat the products are an added value , but in this case it doesn't help with the virus.

I am not saying herbals can't help , but the ones i got don't do much except making him look healthier.(the furr etc) but he still gets sick as soon as antibiotics stop

Well that is just sad all around, try to keep him on antibiotics for as long as you can, sadly he will probably build an imunity to it but then again if his immune system is shot he wouldn't be able to, so you could probably keep him on antibiotics long term...idk man, I don't want to see you lose a friend. I know I personally love my cat more than anyone on this planet, so I just want to see you find a way to not have to put him down. I know I don't know you from a hole in the wall but I know I am tearing up just talking about this and dread the day my cat's time is up....part of the reson I wont have an outdoor cat, cuz I love her too much to shorten her life or chance losing her...

I feel for you man, I really do. I am praying for your cat, that he at least be comfortable and that he last as long as possible...I would rather lose my wife then my cat...

Hi THC123, sorry to hear about your kitty.

Have you ever used oregano oil?

It is a very powerful anti-viral/bacterial agent, and personally have found it very effective.

I was bad sick once and finally went to the doctor. He gave me a few steroid shots and antibiotics. Once the steroids wore off, I was right back where I was and still taking the antibiotics. I finished out the antibiotics as prescribed with no effect, I took a dose of oregano oil and within 10 minutes I had massive drainage for the first time and started truly feeling better.

The doc never diagnosed me with anything but I think I had mono which is viral.

Hope your cat is doing better THC123.

I'm a real cat person myself, and can soooo relate to your distress.

When one of mine was involved in an accident, the vet prescribed Hill's canned food, it comes in different prescriptions (depending on the situation)...mine was on Hill's Feline I/D. It's rather costly (of course) and is a prescription diet, but sure worked wonders.

Praying for your cat to live as long as possible, and as comfortably as possible. :ying:

Well had to put my buddy down today

he had been sick al week

the last months he was often sick but never like this month

found him in the bushes 10 meters from me after looking for him for 2 days

gave him antibiotics and he jumped back for a week he seemed fine

and then monday he stopped eating , made weird low meows

tried some antibiotics again and anti fever

today he ate a little but he had become so weak he was loosing his balance while trying to walk

so i did the only humane thing i could do and called the vet

he came and gave my cat 2 shots on his favortie spot in the garden

it was horrible

my cat was a lil afraid of the doc and tried to get away with the lilk strenght he had left

before he was real calm and sleepy but whe n the vet came he became uneasy

sp i had to hold him down a lil

the first shot was anesthetic and that made my poor buddy vomit

30 seconds later he was unconsious

and the he received the fatal shot

all in all a fucking horrible day

he had been sick for 1.5 years the doc said he only had 6 months to live but today was really the worst day

i thought it would be a more calm and peacefull death noth throwing up and shit

this is how i will remember him

these and a few more are the only pics i have left , i found them in a weedalbum

i had an external hd full of videoclips and pics of him

as soon as i heard it was a fatal disease i started making these digital memories

but when , after burrying him i wanted to look at the clips to hear him pur again i saw the disc just wont turn on

i'm gonna bring the disk to a store but i dont think i can save the data

so i lost all the videoclips and special fotos

luckily i have enough weed to keep me as numb as possible in this situation it is just temporary it will pass

i have said goodbye every day for the last 1.5 years

I am VERY sorry to hear about your loss THC123 :comfort:

All wet in tears, I can't put words, as I woulnd't like to be in your feet right now, I don't think that any pet owner that has a bond with their pets would.

I really hope you can get those digital memories back, but you will always have the memories of the time you spend with him. From the pics he looks like quite a character :)

My thoughts are with you.

Oh THC123, I am so sorry about your pal.
He was quite the handsome devil!
It sounds like he went through a lot over the past year and a half; know you did the right thing, putting an end to his suffering.
I had to put both of my beloved pups down, and we chose to do it outside as well; far more peaceful than a scary vet's office.

Just try not to question or doubt your decision, (I still do this to myself); you did everything you could to give that baby a wonderful life! Heck, he lived far longer than your vet thought was possible. And remember, he is healthy now, isn't in any more pain and is running free, with his kitty friends and eating as many treats as he wants!! :)

I am so sorry for your loss! Be strong, and know you did the right thing!!

Know you and your buddy, are in all of our thoughts!
Sending gentle hugs, love and comfort you to, THC123!

So sorry for your loss. My 13 year old buddy looked amazingly like yours before he passed. Best wishes to you and yours. Thanks for being a good pet buddy. :)

Mr. Mountain

My heart goes out to you!

The first cat that adopted my wife and I was at death's door when she found my wife. After lots of food, water and love she put on 5 lbs in a week or so and IMMEDIATELY went into heat!! She has a special bond with my wife, when the cat curls up in her lap while my wife is sleeping I can literally hear her breathing patterns change. She sleeps so well with that cat attached to her...

I don't know what we'll do when she passes, the thought is making me cry on my keyboard.

Now after all the love given by #1 cat, we have four! I must say I've always been a cat person, so I wasn't really a hard sell!

Just remember, your buddy is no longer in misery. You did the right thing, KNOW IT! Never doubt it!
