I miss my Gixer the most. 95 750. 771 big bore, Keihins, port and polish, 1 down in the front up 4 in the back. It was just stupid. It would only top out at maybe 120-130, but it was always on the back wheel. I can't believe I survived it.

I love riding... bought a 2001 honda shadow to learn on... will eventually upgrade to a custom chopper. Nothing more relaxing to me then jumping on my bike and heading out through the country...

is there no supermotard fans here?!?!

That's where it's at in my book!!!!

I love supermotard!!

My wife is scared now!!

I stopped riding dirt cause the last crash I had in the dirt I broke both legs, so I went to street cause it seemed safer. Ha Ha Ha!!!!

So after I got out of the hospital from my last crash, I gave up riding for awhile, then had a kid and priorities changed blah, blah, blah.

And now Supermotard!!! The best of both worlds!!! I am hooked!!! My new Crack!!! I can't wait for the minister of finances to blow the dust off the check book and let me get one.

always wanted one. in my opinion though.. they're too dangerous. i know of a few people who have been killed on them.

as hunter s thompson once said "if you fall of on the freeway, you'd be lucky if you didn't get run over twice"

just a question. how many of you have had bad spills/whatever

I want to get a bike one day and learn to ride but I want something to just cruise on I like fast cars but all bikes are fast enough for me, I don't want something crazy fast that will kill me.

I'm not sure if I'd like something like a harley or a sport bike the seating and everything is totally different.

Does anyone like aprillas or have rode any? I know they are really nice motorcycles but just want someones opinion.

Aprilias? A friend of mine recently bought an RSV1000, it is one of the quickest, easiest to ride liter bikes I've ever swung a leg over. It handles like a light little GSXR-600 and has the hair trigger of a ZX-10R, fast, fast, fast. I wonder if they have turbo kits out for them yet. :chin: I've seen some of the supermotards aswell, haven't ridden one, but from what I've seen, Aprilia is all about quality craftsmanship. Worth their weight in gold those bikes.

I really can't count the number of spills I've had, yes it's been that many, mostly dirt. The worst was my last dirt crash, broke both legs, basically came off mid air and landed feet first, SNAP!

I've had 3 spills on the street, one at 100 mph, one at about 65 mph and one at about 10 mph.

The funny thing is, the 100 and 65 mph crashes, I got up and walked away just ruined the leathers.

The 10 mph one, I ended up breaking my arm, tearing some tendons, road rash all down my body, concussion. That was one of the few times I didn't have leather on while riding and I paid for it.

But I also think speed played a part. At a 65 and 100, when I hit the ground I was able to spread out and slide and let my whole body absorb the crash, at 10 mph, all I did was tumble and roll which I believed caused the broken arm and my head(w/helmet) bounced on the groud like 6-7 times causing the cuncussion.

I will say the road rash was the worst, nurses having to scrub all the dirt and debris out and it took forever to heal and left somme nasty looking scars.

Even with all the crashes I've had, I will never give up riding. You just can't beat it in my book!

I can't believe you had a 100mph crash and survived let alone just walk away.....

that's like 180 km/h....

I saw this thing on a tv show, basicly a airbag you wear when you crash adn fall off the pin conected to the bike releases and the air bag on your vest deploys to cushion your fal, kind of nice.

I would think the most vulnerable spot on your body (with wearing a helmet) would be your kneck, your knecks going to snap like a twig.
