I really can't count the number of spills I've had, yes it's been that many, mostly dirt. The worst was my last dirt crash, broke both legs, basically came off mid air and landed feet first, SNAP!

I've had 3 spills on the street, one at 100 mph, one at about 65 mph and one at about 10 mph.

The funny thing is, the 100 and 65 mph crashes, I got up and walked away just ruined the leathers.

The 10 mph one, I ended up breaking my arm, tearing some tendons, road rash all down my body, concussion. That was one of the few times I didn't have leather on while riding and I paid for it.

But I also think speed played a part. At a 65 and 100, when I hit the ground I was able to spread out and slide and let my whole body absorb the crash, at 10 mph, all I did was tumble and roll which I believed caused the broken arm and my head(w/helmet) bounced on the groud like 6-7 times causing the cuncussion.

I will say the road rash was the worst, nurses having to scrub all the dirt and debris out and it took forever to heal and left somme nasty looking scars.

Even with all the crashes I've had, I will never give up riding. You just can't beat it in my book!

Funny you say that...I crashed at the top of 4th gear on my bike ate shit and rolled 20-30min later bike was ok (broke the hot start) so I got on her and rode again....a coupld of hours later I crash at like 1 mile an hour...I break my wrist! WTF!!!! slower speed crashes are worst...was my point

so? any dirt bike riders out there? super moto is sick!
Oh you bet, just traded in my old '05 KTM 250SX for this bad boy. I've got the Works Connection package for it. A Pro Circuit Works Platinum is on the way, a VForce 3 reed cage is sitting next to me in the box ready to go on, just put the WC blue axle blocks on today(not in picture). Sooo many more things to do to it still.

06 r6 is insane! 1st production bike by yamaha with fly by wire technology. And as far as the new 07 R1 world’s first electronic variable-length intake funnel system!!! thats nuts.

always wanted one. in my opinion though.. they're too dangerous. i know of a few people who have been killed on them.

as hunter s thompson once said "if you fall of on the freeway, you'd be lucky if you didn't get run over twice"

just a question. how many of you have had bad spills/whatever

Heh, last Halloween I was lane-splitting on my POS Suzuki bandti 600 and went down on the freeway. A woman in a mini-van cut me off, only to slam on her brakes. I plowed into the back end of that sucker doing at least 50, wound up doing a face-shield to the asphalt slide. I was up before the bike stopped sliding, worst part was a road-rashed knee and the impact. I got my bloody ass back on my bike, rode home, got cleaned up, and then commuted to finish the day at work (on the bike!). Next day I felt like I got thrown down a flight of stairs. But, yes, my #1 fear is getting run over if I wreck, not the wreck itself. The 3 I've had hurt, but not bad enough to keep me from riding again. If you smoke and ride (don't lie like you don't!), just be careful and go for a ride outside of populated areas, they're more fun anyhow.

Nice bikes Guys, Jimih1 thats one cherry chopper there, awsome lookin bike you got.

iv rode on and off over the years

currently have a Honda CR250 dirtbike which is out of commission at this moment but have had some great time at huge desert areas, dirt trails, tracks and such.

Due to alot of injuries, surgeries and such i have not been riding for quite some time. but would love to take up some easy riding again.

I rode street bikes here and there but am not too keen on riding one for daily transportation, i kind of enjoy life and feel i would end up killing myself.

if i were to pick one up i think i would have to go with the suzuki 600 or the R6.
would rather have a lighter quick bike and not too much insane power. only so fast i feel the need to go, i dont need something that goes 200 plus, i love hamburger and all but i like eating it, not as a way to describe what happened to my body.

Peace out Gents
