The Anchorman said:I really can't count the number of spills I've had, yes it's been that many, mostly dirt. The worst was my last dirt crash, broke both legs, basically came off mid air and landed feet first, SNAP!
I've had 3 spills on the street, one at 100 mph, one at about 65 mph and one at about 10 mph.
The funny thing is, the 100 and 65 mph crashes, I got up and walked away just ruined the leathers.
The 10 mph one, I ended up breaking my arm, tearing some tendons, road rash all down my body, concussion. That was one of the few times I didn't have leather on while riding and I paid for it.
But I also think speed played a part. At a 65 and 100, when I hit the ground I was able to spread out and slide and let my whole body absorb the crash, at 10 mph, all I did was tumble and roll which I believed caused the broken arm and my head(w/helmet) bounced on the groud like 6-7 times causing the cuncussion.
I will say the road rash was the worst, nurses having to scrub all the dirt and debris out and it took forever to heal and left somme nasty looking scars.
Even with all the crashes I've had, I will never give up riding. You just can't beat it in my book!
Funny you say that...I crashed at the top of 4th gear on my bike ate shit and rolled 20-30min later bike was ok (broke the hot start) so I got on her and rode again....a coupld of hours later I crash at like 1 mile an hour...I break my wrist! WTF!!!! slower speed crashes are worst...was my point
