Glad you had fun out there. My bro is super stoked. Thanks for the hook up!

Your garden looks great excited to see what ya pull this year.

Schrews,
Thanks for the welcome. Those mounds are gnarly! That's the BaS cover crop blend you are using I think? Seems better suited for those big outdoor beds than a little pot indoors. Looks great. I have to catch up on the rest of this journal I'm to page 33 I think.

My soil mix is made up of a base mix of equal parts homemade vermicompost: sphagnum peat moss (and/or leaf mold): aeration ( I like crushed lava rock sold in my area as scoria)
And amendments. I use stuff like kelp meal, basalt flour, oyster shell flour, neem seed meal, etc. it's been a while in these no till pots and I am very bad at note keeping. I tried to shoot the amendments for my initial mix to be as close to the CC soil mix as possible. Within reason and keepin it local(ish).

Honestly, I'm kinda a handful of this, handful of that kinda guy. Less is more in a healthy active system. Not too scientific. Could probably do better. Happy enuf with current results.

I could not imagine how long it would take me to hand mix the amount of soil you are using, years, lol! Amazing grow. Drool puddle, clean up, aisle 4.

I got a question for those that use this cover crop. How would you go about top dressing the plant if the cover crop is already grown. When i to dress i scratch it into the soil, was wondering if it would disrupt the cover crop while doing this?

How many pounds of cover crop did you go through? Mine hasn't filled in yet but I'm thinking I need more. Yours is looking awesome!
50 lbs of cover crop seed covered 17 mounds. they are about 100sqft each do you can do the math on how much cover crop seed you need for your garden.

Looks good dude, how long does it take for that cover crop to finally start growing in like that?
besides my Friday the 13th Ancient OG, i planted the ganja and cover crop two weeks ago. you can look back a few pages in this thread and find out how much the cover crop had grown, for example a week ago

you could probably just water in the amendments with a pump or watering can and then irrigate to make them soak in

yah he and his lady were super nice, they brought some good vibes up to the farm :peacock:

Those plants do have really tight node spacing and a ton of leaves! I agree they look full of energy with perky tops.
yah they are really taking off. can't wait to see how big everything get :woohoo:

I am thinking about yanking this Blueberry Hashplant. Her growth and vigor are good but the leaves just aren't quite as perky, they aren't "praying to the sun" like all the other plants. I'm not sure if this may be a genetic trait, or just a sign of imbalance and poor health. maybe i am being too picky. her growth rate is still good, but i only want the healthiest plants.

maybe this is a good time to start some sap testing... compare this plant to a few others?

i have a few healthy backup starts just in case.

This plant has great vigor and a unique structure, similar to the original trainwreck. still waiting on more cover crop seed mix to finish the last few mounds. the dirt looks so bare compared to the lush green of the others.
