Was gonna recommend either cutting or reshaping vs shoveling. Shoveling sucks. Work smarter not harder as they say.

^dude u should change your handle to backseat farmer. or even better start your own thread and lead by example.

Hey pono,

i have no desire to show off what I'm doing to the internet, I don't need people to tell me i'm doing a good job and my plants are healthy. I already know. :tiphat:

Why don't you just cut open the old pots till the 200s in to a base for your new soil and pile another yard on top?
Our hill has rabbits, voles, and other rodents that would love to eat our roots, we have to spread thing out differently than last year and clear out new spots because of it. So the process goes something like...
1. Empty the original 200 into a tarp, usually two will fit on a the sections we've cut.
2. Pickaxe the old spot and re-level (lots of big rocks in the soil)
3. Put the new wire pot in it's place and refill it with soil from the tarp.
4. Repeat.
The leveled spots went from 4ft to 6ft roughly.
your property is epic

Our buddy suggested it last year, it was decided last minute to save some cash and go that route again this year. Good thing too, after moving one of last year's containers we saw a nest right below the mesh.

the liquid earth worm castings by EWSF seems expensive at $120 for 2.5 gallons... im confused on whats so special..

http://www.earthwormsoilfactory.com/products6.htm

It was explained to me that the liquid castings have a much more diverse microbiology than you could get from simply brewing your own casting tea. I believe liquid castings has roughly twice the amount of active microbial activity as the castings alone. As long as the soil doesn't dry out it shouldn't have to be re-added repeatedly

We are starting to make progress on the hill. still lots of work before the plants go in but hoping to have most of it done by next week.

Kind of stuck right now as far as what to plant... We were going to run a bunch of big Hardcore OG's but they aren't the biggest yeilders. So now i am thinking we will mostly grow Glue and Cherry Pie.

Our real dilemma is how many to plant per 400gal pot. We have 10 Glues from the L.A. cup that are a couple months old. They got chopped for clones but are now nice and bushy and will each get their own pot...

...But our Cherry Pies are only a few weeks old and barely a foot tall right now. and although they are very healthy I am tempted to double or triple pot them just to make sure we get a good yield from each 400gal pot.

Big plant growers (and especially Cherry Pie growers): How big should the plants be by May 1st for a single Cherry Pie clone to get at least 5lbs? Anyone have experience with double or triple-planting Pie's?

cherry pie is good for the double pot, its structure is a little more stretchy and its easier to pull off. i double planted CP my first year and got 4.5 off a 200. i did single plants the next year and only got around 3.5, i dont remember exactly how big they were but they didn't go out until may 28th and were around 3-4 feet probably. I'm going earlier with larger starts this year.

Shcrews and Drue Bleam ~
I have a partner (for the first time), that showed me his secret gorrilla spot that he's been successfull every year at growing bagseed from decent headies.
He wanted to partner with me for my genetics and knowledge. He grows in the ground. I want to use 40gln camo grow bags.
I want to use a green fence to deter rabbits. He doesnt want to use fencing incase it gets seen. I told him if in the ground, we need wire cages for moles and shit.
How do you go about disagreeing with someone and not becomeing angry or sending negitive vibes, all while getting your way, knowing its better?
He is adament about not using grow bags. He wants the plants to blend in.
I feel if someone is close enough to the growbags to see them, its too late anyways. Also the sub layer is clay. That will suck all the moisture outa the holes on dry, hot days. I dont know.....???
Its his spot. My genetics, soil, and expertise. Who gets shotgun on this argument?
Me or him? Do I submit and take the chance for rabbits or put the fencing up?
When do you stand your ground or try it his way?
Im planting from seed so if in the ground, I would need to put metal cages over them for atleast 6 weeks. If in the bags, they are up higher and alot safer from rabbits. I dont feel good about "in the ground" gardening.
Thanx guys. I know you have lots of experience with these issues.

Let me know when you figure this one out. We have had some issues in that department. As far as prep, don't fuck about. If you think it's a risk in your location, better safe than sorry.
