Mississippi Mud - From JLP

Now in veg, here are some pics of the two females out of 4 seeds planted out of 8 seeds total.

Then here is a shorter little mud which seems to lean on the G-13 side because of its squat and compact Indica appearance and structure. It showed its sex just a bit later and small nodes appear with very small and light hairs that do not appear easily without a loop upon closer inspection.

Stunning plants Slickster!

They are adjusting well to the climate outdoors here. It has been very hot lately 33C or more!

Anyone get any mutants? I had to use some no damp cuz i've been having some damping off problems and out of 5 i had 4 mutants. Never heard of no damp doing that but anything is possible.

Looks like I will be having to get these things poped and going soon. Tired of drooling on the keyboard over your pics.

...Yippie, 5/5 females and it's off to 12/12. I'll post some pics later. These plants just keep getting fatter and the stalk is now a tree trunk! Thanx to Jlp and my bud Redux... :woohoo: :joint:

Lookin good guys! Nice shots too! Just a couple months till Muds hit the soil over here...... :canabis:

TKS Thaiphoon, they will go into flowering in a week or so with 3-10-7.

So then is it a True Blueberry in the Mountain Jam, and not the Blueberry that Cannabis Cowboy used in the Soulshine x True Blueberry cross?

{(The Soulshine (BC clone) x True Blueberry)---> (Mountain Jam F2's)} x
{POG G-13 (Plural of G-13 collection; G-13 BX) F2's} = Mississippi Mud F1?

I saw this G-13 pic from Dutchgrown, and it looks like a very pure Indica, yielding almost similarly to the Deep Chunk as a full Indica.

As one female (Mississippi Mud D) I got looks very Indica and squat so was hoping it was a variational phenotype of that genotype. It has no smell in veg, and has dark green leaves with small barely visible pistils at this point.

These shared seeds are so interesting. True Blueberry mixed into these Indica genes would bring it back more towards the Blueberry again. If True Blueberry was used, that is another great suprise.

So far no visible mutations for me with these Mississippi Muds. There seems to be out of those POG G-13s two types; one compact that is not necessarily mutation prone, and one that is more stretchy and mutation prone with possible lobster claw leaves in the beginning with rounded edges. That streatchy one is said to be more potent in THC, but possible only as it may not be as pure Indica as the shorter one with just a bit less THC, and more of other cannabinoids. Hope it does not end up producing any headache as I would just like to call it a Afghani G-13 Indica pheno. What effects it will have being a Mississippi Mud, will be revealed in the smoke.

slickster..
True blueberry should have mutations. I have heard DJ say to be sure and NOT cull any mutants found in his blueberry,as they rock...
Also the g-13 has mutations, pretty much any line of g-13 will have mutations in varying degreees.
A sport should blend mountain jam and g-13 attributes in a good way...
I'll be watching curiously on the sidelines.. Mutants have managed to hold my facination for the past few decades.. Femminising was a novelty lasting only one decade for me....Mutants I'll always be facinated with...
Besides ,I hear great stuff about JLP and his work.
The muds do rock...

I have'nt been around this place long enough to receive aparently. But from what I've read and seen JLP knows his buisness. Good luck to all!

Indeed he does. Don't be discouraged stick around and become part of this great community. The karma is everywhere.

On that note....(hi scrappy2)
I must declare ..
I feel as if no-one wants to talk to me here.. I am unable to try any new strains.
I couldn't accept seeds if they were available...
I have however smoked some mississipi mud back in the 80's..Something called mississippi mud anyways. This has me curious and nostalgic simultaneously..
I also am studying breeding attributes of my g-13. And although mine and JLP's G are not the same, they are related somehow i'm sure...
Through the sport at the very least....
So by studying the muds, I can learn about my gear and how strongly it outcrosses. So don't be afraid to say hello to me. I don't bite and I dont want beans.
I may be a little crazy, but I'm also crazy about cannabis.. We should get along allright. I learn everyday, I been studying awhile and am still learning. I enjoy sharing observations....
If i seem a bit concerned with the G phenotype, it's just a part of my study..
Please forgive my madness...

Sounds like it may be...Definetly keep her going.. The mutations I have found start slow, and explode later....
here is my first g-13 run from may 05...
The mutant you'll spot by your own description I'm afraid.
On the top row all the way to the left there, with the funky non serrated leaves!

Interesting point on the leaves thinning slickster..
Our botanist friend who went to work at miss U , used to call his afghani "a rare thin leaved indica" At least his brother in law told us this.. He made seeds then, I have seen them.. and the end product-It's the same smoke wise as what I have for g-13...
This should clear things up for those who know... The leaves are fat, when she buds they get thin... pakistani indicas also do this....
I don't think it's hybrid with sativa.. If anything it's another genotype like kifiristani which is not even recognized scientifically, yet.
So to be politically correct:
She is A chu valley indica, moved to afghanistan, grown for years in a small village there, later investigated by the US gov..also the soldiers got seeds. The Miss. university found a sport mutation with 20% THC.
something happened, and she got spread around quite a bit ever since....L.O.L.
A lot of hype and crap also went around ever since...
But yes she is an afghani indica, no more no less. Mine has no sativa to my knowledge either..And yes she can induce headaches, especially when smoking rapidly, smaller tokes furthur apart helps a lot there.
( the leaves are fat and they grow fast at first, this enables better photosenthesis and a good start- ingrained... But when they bud the leaves thin to let light inside the buds.... Don't forget they were most likely manicured old school style many generations.( After stretching the water leaves are stripped, after the budding slows for the fat- the budleaves are trimmed....)They get light poisoning with over 16/8 light schedule. Very sensitive to acidic soils....A landrace heirloom indica definition, also under 6 foot...
Lotta people talk about what they hear, experience tells us differently at times...

As to new strains- I am booked up for about two years.. I collect landrace still though. For two more years, then I will be forced to go back through my work..
I have over 100 strains/labled phenotypes unworked/crosses it's gotta end somewhere....But I'm testing ECSDxStinky, StinkyXg-13, ,NlxkushXg-13...All my work.
and rez's f2 SD, vision thai, jamaican hand me down I'm attempting to save.
oh and theres more coming up..
red sichuan, morrocan HP, mendocino HP, A-10,ect ect....
I went on breeding vacation last year because of mishaps, ran a bunch of cuts instead.. I'm going mainly back to my gear this year, and testing/renewing more p stock. I also have a hermie prone NYCD I may bust out so I can nail a few of them with the reversed G-13 male...Some of my old hermie prone work also...
From before I had a clue, why I was doing whatever it was I did back there! L.O.L.

Well the true test of a sport mutation.
Is when it buds, & there will be a visibly heavier coating of crystalline structures than the median..
Ugly Betty (my Nl5xkush-g-13 mutant) had about the same glandular visibility as the original sport I have. (my original sport is decended from "The original sport" of course)
Which is quite a bit more than the median g-13 structure...And it was visible during sexing...
Dont get me going on mutants I will ramble on all day man.

can't wait to see them budding, on that note, wheres JLP's at? I know he had some good sized buds the last time he posted pictures, so surely now they've changed enough for a looksie.
