man we have tons of bamboo around here. I play a lot of golf, actually year round mostly. one of my best friends is a director at the club I play at and that place is plentiful. so, yeah I can get bamboo. does it have to dry out?

I'd love to know what Ravnus is, I went back about a dozen pages and didn't see anything about it's lineage.......
I've been a fan of Goblin Queen for some time, I really like her! What old school sativa doms do you have if any?

May I, and the minions offer you a warm welcome.
It's nice having a fellow PNW grower stop by.

I've seen many of your crosses on the "crosses you have or plan to make thread"
Impressive!
You undoubtedly need 50+ testers to sort through them all.

I'm more grower, than breeder.
I have only been breeding for about 2 years, and have only worked with a few sativa hybrids.
Romulan - 70%
Critical super silver haze 80%
Blackwater - 65-70%

I'm not working on any pure sativa lines.
Demand for sativas are limited, where indica's are in higher demand.

Currently, Halo is the best of my sativa hybrids at about 50/50%.
Nocturnal is a close 2nd and stays close to the 50/50 mark.

I still have some Dark Haze (Blackwater x CSSH)seed to go through.
Just have to find a clean female from them.
Smoke value was great, herm issues not so great.

Again, welcome.

Sg i have been reading the organics threads and something they talk about but seems to be controversial is dolomite lime. Add it to ur soil mix or not? That seems confusing. I guess what i see is that other ammendments play a factor? Anyway, do u use dolomite lime and if u do, why?

I do use it to make up for the acidity of the spaghnum moss in my soil, but you should make use of calcitic lime rather than dolomite because it has about a 6:1 calcium to magnesium ratio.....
The problem with dolomite lime is it has a calcium to magnesium ratio of 2:1. That’s way too much magnesium for most soils. Magnesium is certainly an essential mineral. Too much of it, however, causes many problems, compaction being one of the most common, but also pest and weed problems..... Calcitic lime has 30% to 40% higher calcium content compared to dolomite.

That and most folk use it repeatedly as a fertilizer.... which is where the real issue arises... the long term applications of too much magnesium

I don't use D.lime.
My calcium is derived primarily through my crab meal and eggshells, both release slowly.
Both contain a multitude of micro/trace elements with the calcium.
My base mix has some lime in it added by the manufacturer as a PH buffer which stays around 6.5-6.8.
If I had to add further liming agents, I'd go for powdered oyster shell.
If you have time to cook your soil, crabmeal is the shit and it doesn't require any extra pumice for drainage.

Remember: There is no "one" soil recipe, and all work well if done right.

yup. lots of roads to get to the destination. I am gonna let the soil sit for about four weeks. If I have to do anything until then I will improvise. I am waiting to see if the hermed noc pollinated any of the new plants that went in. by the time in know, I will be ready for my soil. hopefully all will be well. I was wondering if any of those seeds are viable? the gsc was pollinated and had nice seeds that were never opened. I went through and sorted according to the seed chart. believe it, those seeds have noticeable differences. if I used them would I have a noc/gsc cross? would the genes be deficient? or are those beans useless? anyway, I have rav cuts, and halo 2x going in the cabinet. gq, rav and gsc in the veg area. thanks for the answers, that explains a lot of the issue. latta

here's a question.... If a noc herms.... and pollinates a second noc clone from the same mother.... would that be a self-seeding herm technically? I think it would.....

@SG1: I feel really humbled how you welcomed me and liked my crosses so far! I think your Goblin Queen and Halo are extremely interesting plants.. Goblin Queen reminds me of the cut Deadman for some reason. Have you guys seen what RedEyedNReady of RedEyedGenetics, Alien Dawg of Cannafornia, and ICMag's own Relentless and oceangrownkush have been up to? Some really interesting stuff!

Seeds are good for use, and regardless of the chart will be female.
GSC x Noc fem seeds = fun fun fun
The complete outcross will make for good breeding.

Yup! Self seeding.
