:woohoo: Wish I had the balls to put out 1,000 !! But I think I'll stick with what I can smoke in a year wich ussually only takes 2 good plants.

hehe i dont think it will come to 1000 plants less i toss out all my lowryder seeds and hope for the best and if i do that its gonna be along haul after 65days ;)

but yes me and my bro grew quite a few plants last year ended up with 67 pounds at a average of 5 to 6 ounces per plant wasnt to bad till we had to trim, but then we just gave away a bunch untrimmed and dried lol

but yea i never know exactly how many will go out as i start with around 50 then i keep adding to them up till early July, this way we have large medium and small plants

also this year i think ima do a small field of 100 to 200 bagseed plants, there indica dominat bush out very nicely and have a very weird smell but do lovely :)

Cool, starting the season already? I'm sure they'll be fine. I wish them luck. I'm going to try and get some scouting done tomorrow if i have time. Still lots to do and only about 7-8 weeks until the last frost.

yes pipeline if uve read my posts im doing a Spring Grow which will go from the first of March till late April when they will be harvested and then stuck back outside to reveg until late July were they will reflower and give me even more buds :D

2 harvests off 1 plant isnt a bad idea, the first one might be small but it will be a test of the plants if i want to keep it to reveg or trash it or even keep it as a mother plant

I knew about your late winter/early spring plan, but i was just thinking how there really aren't many people around the north hemisphere putting annual plants outside right now. We're a smart bunch with a tough little plant.

I would do the same thing but i don't have a safe shelter for the cold fronts.
Still didn't get around to scouting this weekend. So much to do.

oh well you have oh 50 days or so before the first frost is over :) and thats plenty of time to go scouting and do what ya go to do

my plants will sit in the weather with no cold frame or nething helping them live, well if it gets to cold then inside they come to there old home but till then outside :D

Yep 1 MEG. Also I break up into about 20 diff plots. 2-3 here 3-4 there, also, many get put on DNR land 70 miles north. The tree services like to make clear-cuts neer rivers, I think they are trying to help us. So far about 85% germ rate, have potted about 145 babies.

that must sort of suck driving so far, but if thats where it's safe then use it. Do you dry out there? that would be an aweful lot to drive back 70 miles with wet and untrimmed.
I know of a safe area about that far from me, but i like to be able to check up every couple weeks. Now that i think of it, that isn't that good of an excuse if you're an organic grower. Last fall i didnt see my plots for the last 2 months. Native vegitation usually needs trimmed back a few times a season, but thats no big deal.

a nice long ride home smelling good is all i can say, get pulled over and your fucked :(

glad i can walk to my grow spots rather easily and if i got to run well i know numerous ways out and they wont be running after me to fast as they cant see and shit :D

i need to start germinating my seeds as its getting about time and im hoping these North #1 take off in flowering and the weather stays warm or else ima run out of room :(

It's very near the hunting land of a very close "friend" Chop down plants, trim down to buds on branches and hang in his shed till after deer season. Branches are dry, trimmings are long forgotten and covered with snow in the woods, and once bagged do not smell for the ride home. Naturally, a guy has to go ice fishing once in a while, so just stop in and grab another bag when needed. Works out well, nothing round the house for the kids to find or take to school and get pops busted. Also, I've never seen a DNR warden arrest himself, so the growing area and drying shed are safe as safe can be. It's good to have friends in high (and out of the way) places. Stay Safe.

Such a long wait! When you think about it, in the midwest, we get about 6 months growing season, 6 months planing season. Late april to late october grow grow grow, then late october to late april, wait wait wait!

I love gardening, helps you learn to be patient.

A little warmer wether heading are way should be able to get your spring plants out this week PS420. You guys think its safe to order seeds yet? This whole thing is starting to freek me out a little. Hope most the people that order there beans from Heavens Stairway had a safe addy.

hey im from the mid-west...i didnt even know this thread existed
is it safe to take clones that were indoors and put them straight outdoors? the same from little sprouts that will be about 1 week old when they get planted?
if not how do i make it safe?

Depends how big your clones are. But they will most likley be safe. But the seedlings will have to be protected there to tasty for critters to leave alone. If you can't keep them indoors a little longer I would suggest cutting the bottom of a milk carton off and using it for a mini green house till they hit 3rd or fourth node.

i understand but what i really meant was what about the light changes (fluro's and hps to the sun) and possible climate changes (indoor-constant outdoor-mother nature)

That's called hardening of the plants which you start out putting them out in the shade for an hour and gradually keep letting them have more and more time in there new enviroment. Stoner133 says that they will be fine usually down to freezing but if it gets that cold you can expect them to slow there growth 40 degree's is probley the lowest temp you would like them to reach. Also some strains are more light sensitive than others and when you put them out they might start flowering right away. But ussually as the days get longer they go back to veggitative stage. First thing you need to worry about is security I read in your thread you were thinking about growing in your back yard. This raises some concerns is your yard private can anyone see into your back yard? Does anyone come to your house that might see it ( ex.meter reader, family memebers, even freinds) And smell if it smells like a big fat skunk deid in your backyard it could be nothing but trouble. And if it's on your property it's pretty easy for them to get a conviction. Not trying to be a downer for the backyard idea just trying to make sure you stay safe.

the ONLY problem im thinking with growing on my property is helicopters, everything else is totally cool. however, part of my yard is filled with tall grass and trees and i was thinking of doing it there...close to a tree, surrounded by tall grass, that'd be pretty hard to see wouldnt it?
