So far I sampled an entire bag seed plant that had started to hermie and I've consumed a near worthless runt Bubble Gum plant.

I've already come to appreciate the need to slow dry the bud, but I've been smoking unflushed bud too. This plant I took is the largest section by far I've harvested yet and it's been flushed.

nice catman! my plant was like 14-15" tall maybe. those bottom buds r almost as dense as the top ones... the buds on this strain are fairly dense, it seems.

I can't seem to find any information in the legal forums, but do any of you know if Iowa has a "plant count" rule? I can only seem to find that they charge you based on weight. So is Iowa cool for a SOG grow? I want to start preparing lots of clones for my outdoor. Will I get anally raped in prison if I grow lots of plants, or is it just the weight count that gets me there? I really need to know, because I need more plants if I am going to do my guerrilla operation the way I want to.

Hey Magic, you should look on NORML's website for any info regarding state laws about pot. They have a great state by state breakdown of the law. They update it everytime anything changes, even little things.

dsog: Wow! so much bud, but so short! How long did you veg for? I need something like that for my cab because I only got 28'' from floor to ceiling plus lost space for the 150w HPS. That stuff looks like its begging to be cured in a glass jar for a couple of months :]

NORML has no info on this at all. If they do, I can't find it. All I can find is charges based on weight, but I've heard that if you have 5 or more plants they can take your home from you under the RICO act(sp?). I think that may be just federal, so maybe SOG isn't very safe anywhere. I don't really know.

Hey magic, growing pot anywhere isn't safe. You just have to show an income that provides for your lifestyle. As a general rule of thumb, growing sog impedes on a Federal level, considering the last bust I saw included root mass and all plant matter on site. My suggestion if you are worried about going to jail for it is to just do enough for you. If you cant trust yourself from there, quit while you are ahead, and consider the price of buying vs going to jail

While they do usually inflate the actual street prices, right now Iowa is so dry that prices on the street are actually worse than what the government estimates them at. That's rare, but things are especially bad right now. There's whole parts of the state where nobody has ANYTHING, except homegrowers and their friends.

The way I understand it though, when the cops show up, they take your plants and then try to scare you by telling you how much they think you have and act like you'll be charged for the full wet amount. Thing is, when the state lab gets it, they dry it all out and separate out the flowers from the other plant matter, and you are only charged with the weight of the dried and cut flowers. So if my understanding is correct, you could have huge numbers of plants in veg, because they have virtually no flowers, but if you have a lot of plants in flower you run way more risk. If my understanding is correct then, I can keep a huge collection of living genetics, and then just flower out what I want. I'm hoping to have two of my current cabinets, with offset times, so one is on while the other is off, making it look like a continuous power draw instead of a 12 on 12 off draw. That'd put me technically at a 1024W flowering draw, only since it's half the day I'd have a 512W draw all day long. That'd be great. My veg cab only draws 210W so I'm hardly using anything there. Two cabs would give me 8 to 10 plants at a time. I'm planning to have a huge number of jars with different strains so I can just pick the type of high I want at a certain time. I daydream about this all the time lol

Thanks toast. I'm just trying to keep charges down. I have no plans to get caught, I am very stealthy, I don't party, I don't drink, and I don't blare loud music. I certainly have no money right now lol Just trying to be realistic, look at all options. If I can face 5 years, or I can face way worse, of course I'd take the 5 years.

It's not lit up anymore. There've been some really huge busts. Cops out east caught 250 tons of brick heading our way not too long ago. yes, tons.... Idiots moving it got so arrogant they didn't bother putting any odor control on their trucks. Plus they busted a few huge indoor grow ops. They've left the small timers alone mostly, but it has been a pretty horrible year for the commercial weed market. The bigger cities still have a smidge if you know the right people, but things are the worst I have ever seen them.

If NY goes Med State legal that would mean 1/3 of the people in the US will be covered SO
i think...and this is pure subjective thought....the times are changing and its going to be damn hard for anyone to get long prison terms or even any at all federally for a few home grown plants. The local cops are going to start ignoring MJ busts. I have a good friend that is a Chicago cop and they were told to back of any thing but large deals in MJ and focus on the herion. SO, keep everything quiet and hope things will really change in the next year or so. AND, when things do change it will be hard to keep people locked up for MJ crimes

just a thought....

The weight of the plants doenst really matter just dont get caught.
