No jonny, I'm a little different from most. I prefer to just smoke bud and not worry about making a bunch of extra stuff with the trim. Sometimes I'll make some butter, but that's about as far as I go.

Cant wait to see how yours turns out jonny.DJ has made some pretty good strains with the deez.I'll have to get so more popping myself.

interesting thing about qwiso is that it is realllly easy to make and extremely versitile. ive even put some into my bowl on top of my weed and get really ripped. last batch i made got dissolved into oil for brownies, but if it is decarbed, you can even eat it straight. it is actually easier than butter to make.
you should give it a try PGW.

Yeah I need to try my hand at that, I guess. I've been so damn busy with life, work, 2 kids, 3 small businesses, etc...that I barely find time to smoke at night anymore.

BUT!! I just did some clever rearranging to my schedules so that I can get a little free time now and then. Hopefully I can stop acting like a maniac-workaholic now.....lol.

Hi Jonny, what is your qwiso method? I think I tried making some once, years ago, but mostly it's been BHO for me as far as extracts go...

PGW, are you able to smoke while you're busy? That would probably be the only thing keeping me sane...

actually i do it different than anybody ive seen. i fill my blender with the trim, add 1 bottle of 91% iso and blend for 45 seconds, run it through a gold filter, then refilter using a paper filter. the end result is greener than most, but surprisingly little after flavor. last time i poured into a glass baking dish and placed on the stovetop(glass top electric) with just enough heat to cause a simmer. was done in about 1 hour.

the blender method i use does maximum extraction of the thc, even from deep tissue. out of 60 grams trim, i can get as much as 10 grams qwiso, but it depoends on bud quality, and leaf stickiness!

That's interesting, never heard of anyone using a blender. Getting 15% from trim is a very good return. Is that just sugar leaves & popcorn, or do you use stems and fan leaves also?
The evap part of qwiso is the part I was leery about, but you seem fine just putting the pan of iso right on the stovetop, not even in a water bath?

thanks dj

yeah baba, right on the stovetop, it usually only takes the LOW setting and just remember to keep good air circulation ie open windows and fan. dont do it on a gas stove though!

Right on, no open flames. I did do a green dragon extraction using Bacardi 151 and ground up bud, in a simmering pan of water on a gas stove, with good air flow. Didn't blow myself up and the tincture turned out well.

just remember that the fumes in the air have to be at pretty high concentrations to be ignited, so as long as you ventilate, should be no problems

oh, sorry and yeah sugar leaves and popcorn. in my experience, using fan leaves dont give much return other than nasty taste!

Got some bb knockoffs, used em a couple times, the work involved was laborious. I think if i had a better setup to make the work easier, maybe even a washing machine/bubblenow machine, i would make more bubble. Nothing better than having those different micron grades to smoke...

The 3 hrs i put into making bubble is not to much labor for me, or the return, you do need to have a routine and all of your tools prepped, but my 5gal bags make 2mths worth of bubble at a time. So the 3hrs seems to me to be worth the return, but I put 110% into most of my work all of the time, make more bubble Baba.

My problem is that I have so many OTHER jobs that have to be done all the time that I find myself dreading any other "extra" work because it takes away from my highly limited playtime.

So even though some just can't believe it, I rarely ever make any hash, kief, tinctures, etc...

I'd want a pulley system if I did ice hash again. Or maybe a really deep bucket. It's a pain draining the bags, especially the smaller micron sizes, they took forever to drain ime.
I'd love to smoke just bubble hash, no messing with butane or iso or anything else flammable. If you ever have a chance, look up hashbean420's vids on youtube, dude kept his bubble in those little spreadable fruit jars, arranged by strain and micron size. He also had a bubblenow mini washing machine, and was still collecting crystals even after a 5th wash.

PGW, what do you do with all of your trim and popcorn then? There should be a service that will process your trash into stash for a fee or a percentage..

its definitely good to have some hooks around to hang the bubble bags from.

the last bag is always the biggest pain in the ass. i just leave it hang from the ceiling and when i come back in an hour or 2, i have a nice little big o hash in the bottom
