Micro femseeds GrapeFruit grow - organic, 180W CFL

I will use organic nutrients. If I'll have some spare money, I'll buy biobizz nutrients, if not, I'll learn to make organic teas or something. They should have nutrients in the current soil for a while.

It's a good feeling that I no longer have to work on the cabinet, now I can focus on the plant :)

And today I learned about patience, the hard way. I wondered about what the hell was happening with the other seed, I decided to dig around with my finger a bit. And I accidentally screwed up the seedling. So now I have only one plant left. Stupid mistake. Well now I'll try to contact some growers around and try to get a clone or something. Or maybe I'll just veg this one a bit longer to fill the screen. Yes, I'll probably use ScrOG in this grow.

I am also thinking about making a separate box as a bonsai mom room, so that I can take a cutting from every new strain I grow and make a mom out of it, so that if I like it, I can grow it again, and from clones. But I'll leave that for later, when this plant grows out nice.

im glad you didn't take that advice about using a mirror as a reflector. they only reflect back 65 % of the light or something like that and it would be a pain to build/cut one to fit.
When I tried the aluminum pan (i think mine was a lasagna pan) in my micro cab that was about that size over the summer, I ran into a lot of heat problems due to heat getting trapped in that air pocket that a downward facing pan makes. If you haven't already done this, and are still using the pan, try flipping it so it is rightside up or just cut the sides off so it doesn't trap as much heat. All the trapped heat ends up heating up the air below it too, stessing the plants.

veg that girl longer and top many many times to fill the screen with lots of evensized budsites. save for decent nutes, by not saving you will only save a couple of bucks and the difference will be noticable in quality of smoke and yield. yes mate..... patience is really needed in this hobby.
good idea on the mother room. mums need a lot of work and attention to them as they live a lot longer than any 16 week regular plant and need constant daily trimming. go for it if u can tho!

Hey, I took some pictures of the new setup and the seedling.

And today I noticed that it seems like I have twins ! But that is not new to me, as I had twins in my first grow too. I suppose that the smaller one will die sooner or later.

Nice reflector, pointing all that light downwards! And nice cooling from the reflector / grow area!

Very nice everything!

(The pot is a bit large for my liking, but...)

wow! thats a much better setup, make a good growroom that! a screen would fit nicely in aswell.
never really known many ppl have twins, seen few pics tho. u must be lucky. is there no way to carefully seperate them, then you will have the 2 u started with. or do they share the same root or something?
the pot is a little big for a young seedling, not too deep tho. be sparse with your waterings or the roots wont grow properly and stunt its growth.
im rather liking this grow so far!
peace

Growing pretty well, I think.

Ng2k - yes I think they share the same root or something like that.

I seem to be having some nute problems :(

The bottom (largest) leaves are yellow and the tips are dry. And it appears to be growing slow in the past days. Can this have something to do with the topping that I did ?

Just placed an order for biobizz nutes, hopefully they will arrive in a week or so, maybe someone can suggest a cheap organic temporary fix ? From what I understand, my lady has a N deficiency.

It looks rootbound. Either that or there is not enough drainage. I dont think there would be an N deff this early, the plants dont really need nutes yet.

There has to be a hydro store around you. Also you can buy soil that has perlite premixed , I'd recommend that. If not order some perlite along with the biobuzz nutes.

Honestly your plant isnt looking too good. You seriously need some perlite in my opinion.

Hi Riseup. Nice little cab you've made there. I need to learn to make reflectors like that. I 'll put a picture later.
That plant definately don't need ferts at all yet. It also needs air it seems to me. The soil really needs to dry up a lot, and i'd think it could easily go for at least a week without watering. When the little pot is VERY light u can start THINKING about adding some water. Then just wait a day, and then give it some.
Here's my vegging area using 15 x 20w cfls

It's just used in another way to put light on the sides of the plants.

Looking really forward to see you own that grapefruit under the cfls.
Happy growing and goodspeed to you and your grapefruit

I haven't watered my plant for 3 days, and it is looking better, and the yellowing has stopped. So the problem was overwatering.

well done man..... topping really should cut her down in size and spread her about. how many more times you going to top? also how old is she, about 3 weeks?
also when do you plan to flower?

This weekend she'll be 3 weeks old. I think of putting to 12/12 probably next week, or else I fear she'll outgrow the cabinet. This overwatering thing sure slowed her down. I'll probably top her a few more times, depending on how fast she'll fully recover.

The friend I bought the seeds together with started his three days later and his plant is already looking larger than mine. The thing is that his cabinet has less height than mine, it has more width and depth though, but I suggested that he should switch to 12/12 soon.
