RE>joesy whales i have been getting alot of questions about the gg4 so im going to tell everyone how it went down, a few years ago i was growing sour dubb and chem sister and some others, the chem sis threw a couple nanners and hit the sour dubb, i held those seeds for a year or so and finally popped 5 of them, they were ok, really had one nice pheno but i lost it in a security scare, the other 4 pheno's all hermed on me and tottaly seeded my whole stadium run, i was pissed, i got rid of all of it to a friend, marrdog. he kept alot of the seeds and about a year later we had a joint grow going and he popped i belive it was 6 of those seeds, i was really concerned that they would herm and dident have much hope for them, they were all female, we ended up with pheno's 1 2 4 and one we called the runt, all were outstanding, the clear winner though was the gg 4. so thanks to marrdog and lady luck

Josey.....THAT is one of the frostiest plants I have ever seen.....if you are EVER in the Northern Cali area..make sure I know about it....would love to talk to you...man that is one beautiful plant!

Well more of life has hit...

Had to put down our cat of 20 years...g/f is just in tears all day
Mother in law is back in hospital, her pain medication is just causing all kinds of nasuea and she cannot keep hydrated and we have not even started chemo yet....I have not read any recent pos't just trying to get enough sleep....very difficult.

Work is still not happening and we had to meet with realtor to put home into "short sale", also called a lawyer as my doctor says I should think about going on disability and I have to declare bankruptcy...sheesh....that's been my last two days. I'm so tired I cannot hardly trim now THAT's the good news we are having a record harvey but gro-bro back went out (only hurts when he sits, so that is putting a crimp in our trimming as he is MUCH faster than me)...I'm a mess..lol...jesus christ........well if this new project would just start at least I could be distracted.

damn man, thats a shit run. but there are some of us out here that care enough to wish you some good luck to turn it all around.

Just kickin' the tires here, .. What varieties are you running now, and how long have you been running them?

Instead of being on the lookout for the Next Big Thing (GSC, GG, etc), why not perfect & squeeze every last drop out of the varieties you've got now?

With all the extraneous, extra-cirricular distractions you've got goin' on, seems like you'd be better off goin' with what ya know, instead of trying to re-invent the wheel.

I don't know what your marketing is like, or any challenges you face -- maybe it's better to be the guy always crankin' out new varities, or maybe it's better to be the guy who's always got that BOMB __________. .. ?

I think we're a lot alike in the regard that we both seem to be variety nuts. But, for me, that's because I like to smoke multiple varieties. If you're in it to win it ($$ - and variety for smoke is NOT important), why not take a variety you've already got a feel for, and just maximize that beeyitch?

Sticking with one or two or three varieties, consistently, over several consecutive runs, seems like it would eliminate a lot of the variables (read: potential headaches) that come with new varieties every run.. ?

Just my :2cents:

Sorry Silver...my motto is........."NEXT".........on to the next big thing........

No need to apologize, but what about the rest of the input?

Or, in short, why always the next big thing? And what exactly are you looking for? What is the next big thing?

I mean, in your mind, what is it that you'll find and go YES! THIS! This is IT! ??

Again, just trying to understand because it seems like a good way to hedge your bets against headache and mishap, .. ? :shucks:

3) StrawDD

Yeah it was ok...for some reason I just cannot grow the USD we had MORE problems with that cut (and the StrawDD) than any other cut I ran, lost HUGE crops due to this issue or that.....I am just going to stay away from it....I am not a good enough grower to run it I guess?

:dunno:

And this is what I'm sayin' holmes - you're only interested in growing three other varieties. Of those three, two you just said you're going to stay away from, and the other is Allen Wrench. I've since seen you yakkin' about how you'd love to get a hold of [at least 4 other things that ain't allen wrench]. :)

Anyway man - I'm not trying to press or be hateful, .. Just what I hope are some constructive observations..

:blowbubbles:

PS - It ain't about if you're "a good enough grower to grow it.." You're a plenty good grower, we can all see that.

But I can say from experience, if you take the time to run, multiple times, during which you'll see multiple scenarios/varibles/oh-shits, and observe and learn, any variety will repay you in spades, .. You find the right one, and it's on! :monkeyeat:

I need to have some GLUCOMA or GLOOKIES.

Silver to be brief because I'm tired and don't feel like a huge explanation, yes it is a bit about marketing, peeps want new stuff, I'm trying to give it to them. I talked to Bobblehead about the USD/StrawDD mess I had, it was simply my not taking the proper time to keep a clean environment. I could grow the USD again, BUT I SHARE my grow with a partner..he happens to "think" their is "something" wrong with the USD and is not real fired up to grow it again, if I put my foot down I could over-rule him but I try to "work" with him not against him as well.

Right now we did real good with the Hindu-Kush/Sknk#1 and the Blue Dragon and the OG Kush/UK Cheese.....we will run just the two (HK & BD) next and already have 75-80 in veg.....I'm somewhat "spit-balling" about this new Gorilla Glue#4 because "when" we get into the commercial op that me and one other guy are going to be running I am looking for the HOTTEST strains to run and then produce 25-50 lbs of EACH OF THEM....roughly if our estimates are correct...every 2 months.

I don't always go into detail of what goes on behind the MASSIVE brain I have because it's a very scary place to enter...but for everything I do, every move I make, every decision I make...their is a plan behind it. Now the execution might be weak or wrong but that is a growing opportunity for me...lol....well I try to put it like that...most would say "you fucked up dude".....anyway I hope that explains a bit behind my thinking.

Another way of looking at it is I get bored very easily and I like to run different strains out of the SHEAR LOVE of the herb and my own interest's, if I ever get enough room (and it looks like I will) I would love to run 50-100 strains if I could....heheheheh

I know this goes against the whole "mono-crop" grow and learn ONE strain and get it dialed in thinking...but my ADHD mind just get's too bored for that...and life is short my friends....so GROW A LOT OF GOOD BUD!

Josey...I followed the bread crumbs you laid out for me and I could not agree with you more......I have two peeps already scouring LA, SFV and the whole Southern Cali scene looking for that cut for me....I already been searching on Weedmaps to see if I could find a vendor or dispo that has it(?)

I have never failed in searching for a cut that I want, and I don't expect to do so now.

I think there is a difference between getting it done, and growing different strains. If you ran something tried and true, and experiment with different strains singles at a time to get used to their needs. while running your ole faithful money maker. Not screwing that shit up till you know for sure that the next one going in will exchange or make more than what your replacing. Personally if I am buyn a bag yeah I like different kinds but if its not as good as it can get I don't want it, but if you got something I know is top notch and you got that shit dialed I want that. Part of marketing is being able to back your product man and not knowing it inside and out is only hurting your turn around
