orp, really the only way to reliably monitor chlorine levels in your system.

Imo dark cycles are strain specific. I have used the "gas lantern" schedule with great succes with sour hybrids. They grow crazy fast. The ogs didn't respond nearly as well. I have seen time and time again with cloners that you get roots faster with some kind of dark cycle vs 24hr lighting.

Never did more than 12hours of dark personally.

2nd on the clones. 18/6 is just fine here, been hitting 100% too.

...You can clone a plant sitting it next to almost any window the house... try placing actual vegetative plants in the windows and see which ones grow more...

And im about to put another room into 72 hours darkness to jump start flowering, pics to come...

This may have contributed to the burning of your last crop. The plants are going to have to adjust when the lights come back on. Or not….

Great show even with all the fighting.

the best lighting cycles for cutting i have used is 8 hours dark. 16 hours light. this is the sweet spot.

plants grown with any dark period will have a bigger root mass as well

Med-Man. I take cuttings for a living, and have tried all sorts.

Snype's method is the best method I have ever, ever seen and tried other than my own methods in coco coir which are less complex and far cheaper IMHO.

Snypes clone tutorial https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=271222

In 9 days I can have deadlocking roots that are almost 2' in length and I use no dark cycle.

However if I was to reduce the light to 18/6 at the point of having roots then most certainly the root mass would increase :big grin:

Its not faster having a dark period when taking cuttings in my opinion.

I compared cuttings over 7 commercial benches using a glasshouse and tested all media common used in propagation under natural light.

When compared to cuttings struck under the 24 hour photoperiod using 110 watts of Phillips and full environmental controls, they were significantly slower in every way under the natural photoperiod.

I concluded that cutting material is the key to success as much as temperature and matching media types and photoperiod when growing on.

Taking cuttings with hormones in the correct proportions will be the quickest to grow extensive root systems. These are generally taken from the base of plants and not the quick growing tips which have quicker cell generation and usually veg out faster.

Root systems differ more with the medium they're propagated in. The root structures are significantly different over coco, perlite, rock wool, various jiffy's and various soil types, not to mention Aeroponics.

All methods have their benefits to offer, however the single most important part is to limit stress.

I found that potting on cuttings from 18 hours or less would stress plants out significantly enough that were to be grown in differing photoperiod schedules and concluded that 24 hours was best for production and benefits multiple bloom scenarios.

1/3 Sphagnum moss peat, 1/3 perlite, 1/3 pine bark was the most organic and environmentally friendly way to propagate after investigating the various media benefits and drawbacks including individual environmental impact assessments.

It may be different with real plants but with cuttings I see no difference at all between 24/7 and 18/6. You've seen my roots. Med-man is just speaking from his own experiences and he's grown lots of bud. His experiences may show to also be correct for him. I can't speak for anyone's experiences but many will differ. It's very obvious that med-man knows what he is doing and he tells it like it is weather people like it or not. I can relate to his type of personality because I may have a similar personality as well. Lots of people seem to really hate med-man on IC so I can relate as well. I think he's a good guy though doing some amazing things. There's not always a right or wrong answer in this hobby that we do. There are many ways to do things. Where'd Krunch go?

WHO THE FUCK CARES WHAT THE FASTEST WAY TO CLONE IS?

I USE 2 MINUTES OF LIGHT AND 58 MINUTES OFF PER HOUR, WITH A FUCKING MATCH AS MY CLONE LIGHT AND ROOT IN 3 MINUTES WITH 14' ROOTS AS THICK AS A FUCKING TREE TRUCK...

But you shouldn't have posted the ultra secret cloning techniques on the interwebz :yoinks:
Now people are going to be replicating this and having 150% success with all their cloning :bigeye: What has you done?? :bigeye:

I'm not 100% familiar with the medman tables. Are they just NFT combined with a top feed?

I like the looks of the tables and the lack of medium. Why is this not just ran as a mediumless flood and drain.

I had success with similar style trays in that there was just air/void between the stem and the bottom of the tray. I treated it like ebb and flow and just flooded the thing for 30 min every 90 min. Gave me thick fuzzy root mat with no signs of the nastys.

I don't believe it to be fair to knock the medman tables, unless there is something I'm missing. This is hydro folks and krunch was doing some not so traditional things (the darkness, live res then dead, etc). It seems to me like this could happen in any full water only culture method (meaning little to no medium such as DWC, Aero, etc).

Keep on keeping on Krunch. Hilarious how some come out of the woodwork with so much negativity the minute things aren't going one's way.
