Its the 1150 it is bright like no other day i run a vertical room and its bright but these gavitas take the brightness to new levels imo, i can just imagine wat a room full of these can do. As long as you got 3 or 5 tons

It's the gavita 300 I'm guessing, not the 1150 right?

Ur comment on heat confirms my suspicions about those lamps. They look great and sound great, but if I can't cool my hoods that means I have to use a/c all year... That doesn't make my room any more efficient. The amps my a/c would need to run all year would be better spent on more lumens, IMO. Gavita claims higher lumen output, but the heat has to go somewhere in those hoods.. Which is down to the canopy. So either Id have to raise all the gavitas way up high or have constant a/c going to canopy. And if it's the UVB spectrum that's so sought after with them, well u can go to any pet store to pick up UVB bulbs. I don't mean to rant, but I just don't see the fiscal benefits from them, unless it's doubling weight... Because that's essentially what adding more lights to a room would do, like I done said so.

They do kick out a purdy blue light, and hell I'm sure I'll be eating my words somewhere down the road. I'm just a skeptical fella

I totally agree about the 300 lep, i spoke to a gavita spokes person and he said they were meant somewhere around 2 1150 to one 300 lep, i guess its just for resin, not really weight. Maybe i'll give one a chance eventually to see if theres that much of a difference in resin

The LEP lights look great. Supposedly they are supposed to double production some even say 1 and 1/2 times. I haven't been able to test them out first hand so I can't really comment on the increase in production.

Hopefully they will come out with a glass-closed hood model with either 6" or 8" ducts on each side.

In the meantime this article is worth a read - helps explain it better:

Anyone know where one would find dolomite lime around these parts? Not pelletized?

I got a huge bag at home depot for like 5 bucks. Look outside in the garden section. The one I got was stacked with a bunch of other bags on a pallet.

This is all in the name of science. I know they don't come close to all the buds my fellow icmag'ers are posting in this thread, therefor i don't entirely feel worthy sharing my photos, however if i can learn from this grow and get better every subsequent grow, then Hooray for Hippies

Also with the gavita's what's up with the ballast being attached right to the hood? I mean I guess it helps if you don't have a spot to place them but that's just added heat to the room... right? I guess the increased yield would have to off-set the amps the A/C is pulling... So If I need a 10K BTU A/C to cool this thing since it can't be air cooled Im gonna have to see this performing as much as 1800W worth of HPS lighting.... Don't see that happening. I'm sure they would kick ass in a sealed room where the A/C is needed anyways! I'm sure they would blow AAW out of the water in a sealed room.
@Chaco- She's a beauty! Buds look nice and dense. What is she flowering under?

Hey chaco nice lucifer! How'd that cocaine og turn out, should I be fiending for some??

Maybe it's too early, I couldn't find any in January but I only looked when I was at depot or lowes, but yeah it's pretty readily available, bought some from aubuchons last spring.

Thats it in the pic.The cut from the cocaine mom.i let her go one more day, by the time I made my way to doing it the rooms are too hot to bother .I hate working in 80 degrees!I'll do it at 3am tomorrow. These 55 degree days are killing me, I can only cool down so much. That Lucifer is under about 3-4 thousand watts, give or take...:) I have 2 jumbo trees taking up most of the space but the whole 8x7 room has 4500W.
