Finally got some dry ice. I used crappy popcorn and leaves I usually throw out. Didn't break it up. Shook it up with a 120 bag over glass on the counter. Kief everywhere! Quality sucks, but I got a nice pile! It came out sort of light green. It looked gold while I was shaking, but when I scraped it was green. Next time I won't shake as long. Super easy and quick!

When I removed the bag after the material was just shake and stems.

Jeeyah,

Glad you tried out the dry ice method. You may want to start out with smaller bubble bag screens first - to seperate the higher end kief from the rest =] Then do a general pile of what's left at a much more reasonable screen size.

skunkburner,

I did some research on the microscopes - the one Highligher is using is actually 20x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom. Most of them under the $100 mark are between 20x-50x optical zoom - which is going to give you full clarity zoom, but not much further than HL's - which for most general purposes is good. If you want to zoom in further for close up shots where you can see your trichomes as huge and clearly blown up images - so you can easily see the coloration and maturity of the trichome the heads... You are going to want to go to 200x 'Optical Zoom' just like with the handheld microscopes. Keep in mind, the ones that go up to 200x with 'Digital Zoom' - it's just like with digital cameras it starts getting blurry and unfocused a lot easier once you go outside of your optical zoom range.

If you have the money to spend and want a Fully Optical 15x-230x (non digital zoom) you are looking at around $270 @ http://www.amazon.com/Firefly-GT800...E0/ref=sr_1_41?ie=UTF8&qid=1330047004&sr=8-41

Or if you are really balling - get a Digital Camera where you can add a nice Macro lens ($1000+ total)

Any of you guys outdoor growers? I am alittle south of you guys, 40/41N and I am having a hard time finishing end sept - mid oct. Last grow I had to cut oct 19th, and it wasn't ready.

Hope everyone's weekend is going well. I ended up doing the opposite of highlighter's advice heh... I had plans to go snowboarding at jays peak Vermont today, the winds were out of control and it was snowing 5-8 inches or so doing the day so it was epic flurries and limited visibility at times but still tons of fun. I definitely got my winter exposure today. I'm all game for this arangment in the future give NE warm winters without snow and have the snow just 3-4 hours away =}

Really liking how this ISS is turning out, smells so very strongly of lemon awesomeness with a thick layer of trichomes.

A bunch of my buddies went to jay peak a few weeks ago, they said it was awesome! It has been a crappy year for us boarders. I've only ridden @ my local mountain in NJ, which is mostly park. I am a park rider for the most part, but I sure do love traveling up north to hit some real pow. Unfortunately funds this season were low and with the weather, I wasn't sure if it would of been worth it.

Get better strains .. Get outdoor strains that are hardy and can finish quickly .. .. These are all things I know will finish .. DP Durban Poison, Sensi Malpe-leaf Indica, Jack Herer, KC33, Easy Sativa, Maroc(dont get the BS purple maroc cause it'll mold up), GHS Widow, GHS TrainWreck .. .. Many many others out there .. You could dabble with auto crosses .. Mighty Might .. Freezian Dew, Guerrilla Gold#1 or #3

Check out the outdoor strain guide in the outdoor section and growers give reports on what strain from what seed co and where it was grown and how well or shitty it grew or molded up .. ect

Thanks GG! I believe the CC is snowdog x chemdog. The only indica leaner in my garden this yr.

I've had good luck running A11 OD. I'm coastal, and have to go w/ sativa hybrids, indica's turn to mush around here.
Getting too old and too much work, I'll wait til I can legally grow it in my backyard. :)
Here's an old NE OD thread that has plenty of info:

Another breezy beauty out there today, enjoy!

Ahh I wish I could skate. I never got into it when I was younger because, well, I just couldn't get the hang of it. I sucked plain and simple and then the skateboarding kind of died and rollerblading was in.. Ahh the 90's were whack.

My brother picked up skating, hes 19 now and it seems everyone his age are skating / bmx / snowboarding.

Ive been snowboarding for 10 years now, and I cant find anything that I love doing more than it.

For any of you outdoorsy guys who live up north, give it a shot. I swear, when your up on a legit mountain, the views are breathtaking with the snow covered pine tree's. I always pull off the trail, take a seat, enjoy the view and a nice puff :dance013:

LONG READ! I'm a rambler, I know. Feel free to scroll through to pics & ignore me :thank you:

Ok, so here's the 2,200 watt closet grow. I call it "fan land" since it's the land of many fans. 6 in total, but I could probably eliminate 4 if I relocated my scrubber into the closet, but that requires a lot of work & makes set-up/teardown more difficult. So I've got an 8" tejurnland pulling through a scrubber and extracting to the attic or rest of the house depending on temps. Then I have two of those POS VORTEX FANS! I HATE THOSE THINGS! &^$*^#&* you guys in this thread who recommended them to me!! Kidding, it's cool, but seriously they are so pussy & I would not buy another. Then there is 2 box fans, one extracting from the closet & one blowing cooler air towards the entrance which also has a tower fan laid on its side. They all run 24/7 and the plants don't like it, they get windburned especially if you try to put something in there that is not adjusted to it, but oh well I like my airflow :)

As for watering, I take one or two out, shuffle around, and get her done. They are in 5 gallon buckets, promix HP, I realized 5 gallons might not be enough, and tried to transplant to the 10 gallon boxes but it wasn't working out, so I popped them on top of the boxes filled with promix & the roots have grown through the 5-gallons drainholes, not the ideal set-up but it works for now.

Having multiple strains, plus some in areaswith more airflow makes it tricky, but I think I have dialed it in and they are all doing GREAT! I basically give Jacks 10-30-20 every 2nd - 3rd watering (depending on how I feel) and the ones that drink more in between feedings will get an additional 3-500 ppm with there plain watering. Between that & how much they get when they are thirsty I have them all pretty much drying out around the same times, I'm happy with how it's dialing in. Right now I'm feeding 1000ppm. Everything is ph'd around 6.2-6.4, and the entire grow I have never had run-off from them.

I was using Maxibloom, but I like the jacks a lot more because it dissolves so much better, I still do the hot water shake etc etc but damn Maxibloom just precipitates no matter what!

Lately I've gotten in the habit to always double check myself with ph & ppms, meaning I measure with tablespoons/gallon & then verify with the ppm meter, and I do the same with the PH, I keep my meter calibrated, fresh batteries, ready to rock but still double check with drops every time. So far so good, I don't think I've ever needed a harvest so bad before, so many plans are coming togethor but hinged on these girls! HUGE HUGE HUGE Thanks to all who have helped so far ;)

Back right & left are sours, sandwhiched in the middle by a cheezle, and front right is chem-d, front left I THINK is nevilles haze.

As for days in, don't ask because I don't know, I also vegged these vert (That's why fan's are down, not just from the windburn ;) ) under a non 24-hour based light cycle, 12/5, then went 14 on 10 off dropping it down over time, currently at exactly 12/12 but will drop more soon.

And here is the 600 watt vert, I'll be starting a thread once things are transplanted and cranking along, but in a nutshell it's a giant box surrounded by a hexagon, the hex is modular so it can be moved around, 3 pieces total, it gets sturdy once it's put together.

I still need to break it all down again to get a pond liner under it, and I also need to finish constructing another veg area for outdoor stuff, it's getting hectic, as of right now I will probably flower 1/2 of those soon except for the outdoor moms (black pots), and a few that will be long veg for outdoors, both of which I will have to manually throw into the closet every night to interupt their dark cycle. For the ones getting flowered soon I have containers that fit the hex set-up great, probaly run like 50 plants in there with a 1-week veg under the hps, I need to transplant asap though as I'm freaking out at the thought of having to deal with plants in those tiny cups for much longer!! So hard not to over/under water them!!

HL,

Ya the Candy chem is closer to 80-85 days - which is most likely the range you would enjoy the most. If you go up to 90, the indica and head high expanded to a much more stoned to the bone situation. As one of my friends called it - "The inappropriately high spectrum" lol.

A11GPC range is between 55-60.

I'm guessing the candy chem isn't good outdoors unless I throw them out in august already in flower than? Is there any way to identify it in veg or quickly?

I made the mistake of labeling all of those outdoor moms with a sharpie that washed off, I was still able to read 3 of them, two mass super skunks and an appollo genuis, but I have a few more that could be either of those, or ecsd, or candy chem. Arrrgh.
