Bump.

Geeked and counted like I said.

There are upwards of 170 bud sites exposed to direct light.

Hate to aim for 1gpw first ScrOG, but at 7g/bud site, that's 1190 grams. From 1200w. :joint:

Day 23 flower.

I figure I set everything back a week with the last minute up-pot. That said, buds are looking great. This time around I'll show and name the individual plants.

This is my Papaya 4 pheno. Short-internodes. Very indica. The densest, largest buds so far. This was my mutant trifolate pheno. Very kush. Might be my favorite.

This lady is Papaya 1. She was my favorite of the two Papaya girls until budset. She branches the most and is the overall most vigorous, but the buds just don't compare to Papaya 4. We'll see.

White Widow 1. Meh. Least vigorous overall. Still not BAD, though.

This is White Widow 3. She is very similar to Papaya 4 in structure.

Widow 4. Nice buds. Nice overall.

Widow 5. Similar to Widow 4, but a little taller, with less branching.

Thai started showing pistils about a week ago. Has me pretty excited.

As am I. It was a two-person decision between my partner and myself. I think the ScrOG will benefit. Some people recommend removing them all for this type of growing, some people keep them. All I know is that there were too many fan leaves blocking too many budsites. I personally think that the bud leaves will support their respective buds under this much light. We'll see. :joint:

So you removed them so that you could have as many unshaded budsites as possible? Have you grown any of these strains before w/o complete fan leaf removal?

Yes. And I more than tripled the budsites getting direct light. At 12500 lumens per square foot on the surface of the ScrOG, with the lowest budsites being 7-8 inches below, I think even the lowest buds will get more than the recommended amount of light.

Unfortunately, I haven't grown these strains out before so I won't be able to show conclusive evidence that this is going to increase my yield. But I have a feeling it was the right move.

Well I look forward to seeing how the plants react to it. This is the first grow of mine where I've done multiple stages of serious trimming. I think I'm done, but that depends if they want to stretch any more. I feel you on the having a feeling it will help though, after I trimmed the second time it really cleaned up the undergrowth and I could just tell that the plant was going to do better than if I had not trimmed. Good luck!

I feel ya on the multiple stages of serious trimming. I was iffy about it at first. Until my partner and I stumbled across an old school ScrOG tech that said something like "In a ScrOG grow, you'll leave your room with buckets of trimmings every few days, don't worry, your plants can take it."

And I haven't noticed a plateau in bud development since. :joint:

Oh wow I didn't even notice how your lights were aligned in the previous posts, that should be a serious upgrade, much better use of the light footprint.

Yea, thanks man. I've been putting it off for a few days but the difference is like night and day. Light coming from everywhere. Things are coming along well. :joint:

Hope things are going good for ya right now, just joined in and started the read from the begining. Like the setup you have going. i was just wondering if you had read on anyother scrogs?
I seen a few on OverGrow.com awhile back where they trained there plants to go up a slanted screen on both sides aswell? kinda like a "V" shape?

Helps get some more of the plant to take your light footprint...should help to increase yield.

I like the V-ScrOG idea, but like most vertical-esque grows, the logistics of building such a set-up kind of turns me off the whole idea.

However, my next time around I may or may not stay with ScrOG. Depends on how I yield. I might switch to a 1 gallon SOG in coco with a drip system next round. Like 50 plants or so. But I'm not really sure yet. I'm open to any suggestions, though.

However, I think I'm pretty set on switching to straight coco and GH 3-part.

I have also installed some 6" semi-rigid ducting to direct the AC into the hoods since last I updated.

For now. Some pictures.

Day 28.

The duct-work.

Thai:

The Papaya pheno that hermied on me. It's on it's last time through the flower room, assuming it hermies again.

My Pure Power Plant male, no visible sacs yet. He's only been in here a week.

Stay safe everyone. :joint:

What's up MarquisBlack? Everything's looking awesome. Ima pull up a milkcrate (can't afford a stool) and watch this with interest! I'm learning tons and you're teachin tons to someone like me so thanks!

Not sure having the A/C ducted that way will accomplish what you seek, even if the (central?) A/C is running during the entire length of lights-on. Your goal is to keep the radiated / convected heat away from the canopy, not to cool down the lamps. I think you'd be better off leaving the A/C as-is and adding a fan to blow between the lights & canopy.

Just my :2cents: as usual.

I definitely see what you're saying, and I probably would not have bothered with it myself, but my partner paid for the ducting and it has reduced canopy temps a few more degrees from 82* to like 77*. Though assuming my canister is still good, I'll be adding CO2 this week and the temps won't be as much of a concern.

My 5lb CO2 tank was out of date and looks old as fuck so instead of gambling $20 to get it reinspected, I bought this...

New 20lb tank. Solenoid comes tomorrow. Soooo stoked.

MarquisBlack Wow they seem to be coming along nicely. Props on the C02 tank. :cuss:

I'm really anxious to see what trimming all the fan leaves off does to the finished yield and health of the plant. I can say I've honestly never seen that until now. But it looks good. I wish I had your room I really do.

I thought you might change your mind on the chicken wire. The pvc is where it's at I think.

For next time have you considered making some hempy buckets with perlite and coco? Feed with 3 part. I'm giving it serious thought.

I'm back to planning and getting ready to spend money but hit one of those moments today when I realized I hadn't thought through another whole aspect. As in the amount of room that I need to veg 8 plants for 4-5 weeks...... didn't take the 7-10 inch pot height into account so I need like 40"

Just smoking too much I guess :bashhead:
