Hey everyone!

My room is and will be a work in progress over the next few months, so bare with me.

ATM, I have one 400hps from HTGsupply and one soon-to-be-retired 400mh that my dad used when HE grew. However, I have 2 more 400hps on the way from HTG. Both should be here this time next week.

I am currently growing White Widow and Papaya from Nirvana and one Thai Haze x Skunk #1 from Sam the Funk man. I mean Skunk Man. I also had a Pure Power Plant going, but it was male. I'm keeping a cut of it around for some entry-level pollen chucking.

All of these plants have been vegging since mid-June and are at day 7 of 12/12.

My first run in this room is going to be a chicken-wire ScrOG. Under the ScrOG, I have 3 different Papaya phenos (2 in 5 gallon pots and 1 in a 3 gallon) and 2 different White Widow phenos. (1 in a 5 gal and 1 in a 3 gal)

The Thai will get her own ScrOG in the corner when the time comes.
(I'm almost 100% positive she's female, but the preflowers haven't shot hairs yet, so I can't be sure. Hence putting off Scrogging her.)

Pictures to follow...

Oh! I forgot to mention cooling! I plan on having upwards of 3kw running in this room in the next two months.

Right now I have a vent routed from my central air unit into my grow room. I updated my thermostat with one of these deals.

It's a digital unit that has two seperate on/off times that are programmable down to the minute and degree. So basically, I have it running from lights on to an hour after lights are off and another half hour in the middle of the dark cycle to slow stretch/promote purpling.

SOG used to interest me. What with all the "GPW" predictions they try to apply to it. But I find that the sheer logistics of taking enough clones and keeping enough moms to fuel a SOG (let alone a perpetual SOG) is reason enough to choose ScrOG over SOG. Not to mention the minimum penalty thresholds.

I, personally, think it's worth investing in daylight cfls and vegging out your plants those few extra weeks. But that's just me. :joint:

Give her 2-3 square feet when you do. After 20+ weeks of 12/12, she'll still be stretching out with clear trichs. These girls take forever.

I'm probably going to keep the metal halide on her mainly. So maybe I could just cut the metal halide back to 10/14. I could prop her up above the rest of the lights, though I think she's going to hit the ceiling if I let her, that way she would have those two hours of indirect light but nothing direct. Maybe cut back after the first real budset? *Shrug* Assuming switching to 10/14 would finish her sooner in the first place, that is.

/Rant.

I also realized I accidentally grabbed some 7 gallon bags from the hydro store. So I did a last-minute up-pot on my best Papaya from 5 gal to 7. It was a ballsy decision a week into flower, but honestly, the root ball was so solid that I know I did more good than harm. Check it out.

Update. My second 400hps got here today and I have it up and running. The third will be here in a couple more days.

We're at day 9 of 12/12 and this morning when the lights/central air kicked on, I could smell the room from two stories away. Had me impressed, really. But now light number 4 will be postponed for need of a can-fan/carbon filter. I think I might go ahead and get a solenoid/regulator for my co2 tank this grow, but that might be stretching things.

Yea, I'm still using the central air. There is an adjustable baffle in the vent that I haven't quite opened all the way yet and the A/C is only on about half-time during lights on, so I think I have enough headroom to get away with putting off a dedicated A/C until next time around.

How long did you veg for if you don't mind me asking? Is that metal chicken wire fence that you are using??

3 month veg. And yes, my ScrOG is chicken wire. However, I removed the ScrOG last night so I could get some work done around the room and I think I might give it another week or so before I put it back on. I'd like to have all three lights positioned and all the plants lst'd on an even canopy before I put it back on.

My room is in disarray at the moment. I took down the ScrOG and reworked my numbers, taking the third light into consideration. I've decided to ditch the chicken wire. It's just not fun to work with. I still plan on putting up a ScrOG in the next week but using something a little more cooperative.

So in the meantime I took some quick pictures while working on the room since they were under cool spectrum light for once.

I had one of my Papayas hermy on me. But no biggy. I heard Papaya hermies sometimes so I just cut it down. Now we're at 6 confirmed females. I straightened out the confusion with the grow bags as well. Turns out what I though was a 7 gal was a 5 gal. Somehow I have some 2 gals and it threw me off. Anyways. Everything is in 5 gallon bags now. Except the Thai. I think that might be a 3 gal. :bashhead:

Third light arrives tomorrow! :joint:

I really like the idea of using the bags. For my next attempt I was going to use a 45 gallon rubber maid with a 35 gallon container in the 45 and do my first scrog. I figured since most scrogs are hard to clean that attaching the screen to the 35 gallon container would make it easier to clean up but now you got me thinking of using a series of bags.

So I have completely decided against the chicken wire. I'm just gonna go to the hydro store and get the nice 2" screen they have and build a PVC frame. I'll probably find time to do that tomorrow. In the mean time, light number 3 is up and running. I just threw all three side by side for today. When I build the new ScrOG I'll probably reposition them like " -- | --". Perpendicular if you will. Over a 4x3 ScrOG. That's 100w/ft^2. Some might say overkill, but I've been hardcore bending to expose as many tops as possible in preparation for the new ScrOG, so I think I can put it to use.

Anyways. Here's some pictures.

Oh, I also put an angle duct on my AC duct so that it cascade over the hoods and onto the plants.

Should have the ScrOG up by tomorrow. Until then, peace.

Things ran a little behind this week due to some unforeseen power outages compliments of Hurricane Ike. But everything is back up to speed now and my ladies only saw 48 hours of darkness. Got a new ScROG built and repositioned everything in the room.

For the first two weeks of flower I fed with Fox Farm Big Bloom, Open Sesame, and a dash of Grow Big and Hygrozyme. Now that there is sufficient budset, I switched to Beastie Bloomz, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, and some Molasses.

Here's some pics for ya:

I cut a 4' piece of 3/4" PVC to hang the lights from. Everything is nice and lined up now, and I think I might ditch the perpendicular idea.

Thanks, Sleepy. Good to have you along.

I decided, despite the stigma against removing fan leaves, to remove essentially all of my large fan leaves. I lowered my ScrOG 5 inches or so and started hardcore training. I haven't had a chance to count the bud sites, but I will probably geek out and do it tomorrow. There are sooo many. And all within 20 inches of the lights. The lights are 14" from the ScrOG. Temps are 80F in the canopy.

Humidity has been dropping to 32% from 50%. I have a small carbon scrubber/HEPA filter that recirculates the air under the ScrOG. You can kind of see it in the pics. I'm starting to think it's the cause of the humidity drop.
