Nice clean set up Bro. I'm on my first solo grow right now and was introduce to vert. I'm loven it, great concept.

Hey Sleeper. Sound like your on the right track. 13 plants is alot for one light, but if you stay on top of your training and pruning, everything should go well. :tiphat:

Hey man, I really like the simplicity of your setup. Looks very efficient! I'm hooked on hydro - do you think this would work as well with DWC buckets?

I think it would work just fine with DWC. The only disadvantage I could find would be losing the mobility of the pots. I regularly take my plants out of the room for training and pruning. The soil/coco mix makes this pretty easy. The screens should not be affected by the DWC at all. DWC is always in the back of my mind. I'm tired of dirt and having to find creative ways to get rid of it.

Looking very nice and healthy Marlo. Good job brother.

Thanks MC!

nice and clean, digging your style to the end!

i'd set up mine pretty similar! keep rocking it! :D

Hey S-P. Its a very simple concept imo. Go for it!
Works great for me.

Thank you Marlo again for showing the proper training facility! :)

Subscribed! I really liked your previous run with the 2 400! :)

My pleasure Nuk. I hope this run turns out better than the last. You never know how new genetics will react. Especially from seed. So far so good tho.

I'm late, but here!

Better late than never. Welcome to the show bro!

Good stuff man, vert is def the way to go. i just started running roots excel last run too and it def is some miracle shit i didn't have a single leaf that wasn't super green and healthy looking(more than usual) and i definitely don't see myself goin back to not usin it. keep up the good farmin bro

This is my 1st run with Roots Excelerator and also Floralicious plus. I kept telling myself these plants lookes super green and healthy too. I wasn't sure if it was the new additives, or all the new genetics in the room. These are definitely some of the darkest healthy green plants I've ever had. I agree, Roots Excel and Floralicious Plus will be sticking around. Well worth the $$ imo.

Marlo what it do Fam.... I love these nets, i actually sugested for someone on here to run with this style I posted " why dont you check out the homie Marlo's grow he got a vertical net grow crackin" I like your line up i use to have the extrem strawberry smellin DsD pheno pure dank my friend!

Thanks Drymouth. :tiphat: The screens work well for me. Been thru 4 or 5 grows already. Vscrog is fun, as long as you're not scared of the extra training and pruning.
And yea, that DSD is great stuff. I'm madly in love with the pheno I have, but I kinda miss my KKSC pheno. It was strawberries all the way. I felt like I could eat it. It didn't have the punch that the SD side gives tho. i just got 2 pack of the DSDv2, so I'm sure I'll find her again.

Marlo at it again. I was impressed the first time and Im sure this one will be just as good

I hope so too. Its going well so far.
I'm gonna check out ya hempy hybrids thread in ya sig. I'm planning to go back to turface hempy's soon. That was my 1st grow ever. Didn't go to bad for a 1st grow. I switched to dirt cuz it was easier for me. I'm sure it will go better now that I have a few years experience. Not to mention, the turface is infinitely reusable. I already use it to clone, ad it works great.

Hey Marlo, Hows it growin? I am starting a 400 watt bare bulb grow with 6 400 s how close can the plants get to the light? any recomendations on bulb placement? thinking about running 20 bubble buckets any recs on plant count for 6 lights?? Thanx, Nice set-up btw

I can get some of my plants as close as 4 inches to the bulbs without any issues, but this is strain dependent. 6 inches is definitely safe enough distance for most. I have had some buds get light bleaching from being too close. Others love it and just get rock hard.
Light placement and plant count depends on the size of the room and your style of grow. Also how long you plan to veg your plants will affect things. 4oo's don't penetrate very well and will leave you with larf if you are not careful. 20 buckets is a lil more than 3 plants per light, which sounds like a good ratio to me.

great setup! I can't wait to see how it turns out. If I am looking at it correctly, are the supports running across from the bottom left to the top right (or vise versa) and the plant is almost woven through the screen? This is an excellent way to add support. I'd like to get this going with my setup. Recently switching over to vert and extremley happy with the results....I'd say this would be one heck of an upgrade in terms of support. Thanks for posting!

Rockin' tight little verticle scrog & love those custom net frames M from first seeing you do them ...the way plants naturally grow thru the screening towards the light with a little guiding training all spread out perfectly .

* Wondering if u had just 2ft more in length & 1ft more in width using switchable digitals & the full 1Kwatt bulb set to 600 setting ? Just wishing for u... & my thought was the longer element of the 1k giving a little more dispersion & the bump in up lumens & wattage . Or just leave as is & bump up to the digi 600's ...

really nice line-up , loving it ...

best regards

yes, indica creepers can practically kiss a bare 430 hps, while my diesels will push a nanner if its closer than 6in or so

tried 600s in a similar setup and it was a diminishing return, sometimes less watts is more etc...i love 600s, but 2x430's was more effective for me in a small rectangular room. 600s brought too much heat and i didnt have the room to back the plants off the bulbs...so then it would have been cool tubes and another fan to push the air thru

sometimes ya gotta experiment to see if it works ...

Wow thanks for posting, subscribed, now if I could only get my ass in gear and make me some of those screens, those are sweet, looks like you can adjust the angle too no?

Its basically a rectangle made of pvc, with fencing attached to it using zip ties. the top of the rectangle has a T fitting with a pvc pole going down into the pot, acting as a "spine". The spine and base of the rectangle are secured to the top of the pot using pre-drilled holes and more zip ties. Here's an old grow with some more details.

nice setup marlo!
looking like its gonna take off in here soon!
Wsup CF. Here comes the fun! looks like the stretch is winding down (i hope) and the girls are starting to look like something. The bigger girls are spreading out nicely. You can see where the colas are gonna be forming soon. Enjoy the show!

I've thought about this many, many times. No room to expand this lil room, and 600's would be pushin it too far in this space.
But if/when I can upgrade, I definitely would love to try a similar setup with 6oo's or even 1k's.

Do it bro! Its easier than it looks. Just draw it up on paper, get some measurements, and start cutting. I took 10 8ft 1/2" pvc poles and cut a bunch of 30" pieces and 8" pieces with a saw. Using 1/2" T's and corner fittings, everything went together like a puzzle. No glue needed.

I need to do a short tutorial on it cuz a bunch of ppl have asked me about them.

The room is currently on day 16 or 17 and its starting to look like a jungle. I hope the girls are done stretching. The big girls in the back are gonna run out of head room soon.

I have been staying on top of the pruning this run. I haven't been chopping many fan leaves, instead I've been removing all the lil skinny branches inside the bushes. The small branches that will have 1 or 2 pistils showing by week 4.....those are all gone. The backs of all of the plants have been cleaned as well. Experience has taught me that these will not produce anything of value or high quality. Just larf and headaches. Better for the plant to put all its energy into real budsites.

Somewhere after day 20 or so, I will go in there and remove most of the large fan leaves from all the plants. Some look ready to be plucked now, but I'll wait til things are bit more developed.

Here's a few pic's to keep yall interested

lookin good. I was thinkin about DIY'ing some screens that were similar, how ya feelin that size mesh? I've got some leftover 2"x4" galvanized mesh and think it could fit the bill.

It works well for me. They're about 1.5"x1.5" squares.
2"x4" would be huge compared to these. It would still work tho

Looking very nice, Marlo.
I did some screens similar and used the 1" hurricane fencing. Ended up cutting some of it out to let things happen with the large buds. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be, until I checked out the yield, which was better than I ever had on that line. I grade the method a winner. Although I haven't tried screens again yet, but I have to keep on the vert for shore.

I too copied the screens and used the green plastic fence from Home depot and zipties. works perfectly. took about an hour to make half a dozen 20"x36" maybe 40$ in materials and 3 doobies.

I've had some plants want to bust thru the screens. Plants with thick strong stems have a harder time being trained thru a small net like this. I had to cut a few squares also on a sour bubble plant last run.

This method doesn't produce huge fat colas. So at first glance, you probably wont be impressed. But if you run this method with a strain that you are familiar with, you can develop a bushy wall of buds. Nice bushes will outyield a big fat cola in the end.

Gotta love home depot
What size lights will you be using with them?

Your winter garden is rocking Marlo. Best New Year wishes!
