Half of the SSSTN Fluffy pheno is jarred.
Presently at a drop site until I can move it to proper storage in a few days.
The other half is dried but still in the 'laundry' if you know what I mean.
The rest of the Grail project NLD pheno is also in the 'laundry'.

I still have literally branches and branches of the Grail x ThaiFrican hanging on the walls.
A big cob? Maybe. I know where to source some bamboo now.

Day something something of flowering, who knows? who really cares?

Meanwhile, the 'little' ones (now more like the short but chonky ones):

First, the pretty delicate Lady Pearl.
She's looking done, to be honest, but ... will get her later this week, I hope.
View attachment 19112267

Next, this girl, looks a bit rough, but the flower development is on point.
View attachment 19112268

View attachment 19112269

There is another girl who is like a slimmer version of the above.
But she looks even more battered, so no pics of her -- she's a bit shy, shall we say?

Then we have a couple of ladies who are lovely and green, though with a bit of bug damage.
One who is a bit chunkier and solid looking:

Her shape looks a lot like their mom, but she's a bit thicker.
Is going to be some seriously delicious and potent herb, I just know it!
That top bud has a nice wobble on it when you shake it (I know you all do this with your top colas!)

And the last, more open and airy, and also with longer to go in her flowering cycle.
This is the lady I showed in the last update pics.
View attachment 19112273
A last bud of their aunty in the background, haha!
Her size is the proverbial American football, and she's still filling out a lot.
View attachment 19112277

Let's just say that I am extremely excited to see how this bud shapes up and smokes.
Their faster sister, that I called the SSSDH pheno, is dried and jarred.
She has some serious diesel terps on her, good thick sati-dom hybrid flower.
And these ladies her are definitely more on the sativa side.
Apart from Lady Pearl and the big puffy slow girl, the others have a nice sati-dom hybrid look to them.
The Pearl and puffy really let the Thai genetics shine out.

And, if I may, these may end up being better quality flower than the big girls who had to endure all that terrible fall weather, multiple typhoons, etc.
Temps are getting lower, of course, but we know from last year that they should be okay.
Apart from the slow puffy girl, who will be airy enough to resist later humidity and cold,
the rest may be finished between now and late Dec / early Jan.

May the sun shine with touches of rain to keep them happy but low humidity.

Signing off,
~~MJS

Looking awesome there, and that Pearl pheno is something else!

I find that the flowers on the big bud (last pic) lean on the colombian side of things, the structure of the flower. I know its a poly hybrid but seems like a strong trait.

What is your native soil like ? I’m a big fan of in ground grows ,by me I can tell just by looking at what kind of weeds are growing
It's pretty good, nice color and texture, though a lot of rocks.
But here, it's like a building site, most areas concreted / paved, and lots of construction waste laying around.
In ground is too low, in front of the apartments, like a valley, not enough sun shine.
Also open to anyone who walks in.
Up here, people don't see it unless they climb a few floors in this apartment.
Though I'd ideally be in the ground, not in pots.

Pearls are pretty cool.
I should really harvest this girl at first opportunity.
Interesting about the Colombian genetics, she's a SSSTN x ThaiFrican -->

(Swiss Thai Nevil) x (Super Silver Sour Diesel Haze)
X
(Hempys Thai x Nevils Haze 21 x Nevils Haze 36) x (Nevils Haze 23 x Kariba)

So if there's any Colombian, I guess it's from the Nevil's Hazes, is that right?

You picked a good one @Maria Sanchez!. @ojd and I have some different perspectives on some things, but I'll always give credit where credit is due.

The specific traits described by you and others in his recent work are more inline with the best of the original 5haze work than many of the claims out there. Well done!✌️
What specific traits are you seeing here?
Most of these girls have a fair amount of Nevil's Haze in them, with various Thais (Swiss Thai and Hempy's Thai), as well as the Mullumbimby (which also has Thai), and then the Kariba, the SSSDH, and the Jones.

I don’t wanna start a haze discussion on your thread. Maybe I’m just seen what I wanna see in terms of the flower clusters looking Colombian, it may well be a Thai trait, hence my confusion with haze being a Colombian/thai something else poly hybrid… lots of haze in the cross = lots of possibilities

Little update.
In general, from the more pitiful looking girls, to the fancy ladies.
Don't ask me what day of flower, I have no idea.
(Could check, but... too lazy!)

First, though, Lady Pearl.
Cut her down today.
She's now hanging on the wall.
PXL_20241216_084921435.jpg

I also cut down this girl.
She is the most battered, and shy.
Didn't realize she still had a few white pistils until I had cut her already.
Still, those mature calyxes look juicy!
PXL_20241216_084909269.jpg

This lady will be next.
She's very similar, but bigger, and not so battered.
PXL_20241216_084904173.jpg

Then we have this Thicc Chicc.
Serious haze hybrid vibes here.
Dense enough for some weight to come, but open enough to avoid the nasties.
About 1/3rd brown pistils, but many more fresh flowers still to pop.
At least a few more weeks for this girl.
PXL_20241216_084829973.jpg

PXL_20241216_084838517.jpg

And last but not least, this very Thai Haze (I guessing!) pheno.
Almost can't see any brown matured pistils / calyxes.
Though even the fresh calyxes are quite large, Thai style.
Flowers popping out left right and center.
At least a month to go here, so another mid-winter harvest for me!

That last one is going to be a monster… nice work
Yeah, I think so!
She's just getting warmed up at this point.
Those little side buds are popping out more side buds,
and it's just those single leaflet inner leaves and calyxes piled on each other.
She's just be a single bud mass in the end.

All credit to the genetics
-- OJD's crosses from Neville's last projects.

It's really strange.
I mentioned earlier that the older plants, including the seed-stock and re-vegged plants,
all had really small calyxes and less trichome development this round,
and were a little bit leafier than last time.
I thought it was something in the soil mix, maybe too much N?
But these seven little seed plants are in the same pot!
But their calyx and flower growth is more 'normal', meaning regular size calyxes and trichome development.
It's really weird, and I'm still wondering what the reason is/was.
But glad that these girls are looking stellar, even if they're just so small.

Weather has been unusually cold this year for late fall / early winter.
Follows up on the extremely wet and windy fall weather.
At least it's not too wet now, and despite the cold and cloudy weather,
there's been no fog so far or extreme humidity.
Hopefully things continue okay into the rest of December and January for these young ones.

I think maybe the cold has slowed the size of flower production down ?.

But great show you put on for us , lots of details and an amazing journey.

Hit me up in future if you need any free seeds to run

Hey boss!

Yeah, it's weird.
Like, may be the cold, but it was already happening back in like Sept to Oct, and it wasn't cold then.
Though it was very cloudy and not much direct sun.
Never mind, problem is gone now.
It's a pleasure growing these cultivars of yours, it really is.
I will hit you up for those seeds, maybe a bit later.

It's such a pity you'll be moving out as a sponsor here.
Where do you think you'll be more active? OG?

With gratitude,

Summer-Fall-Winter Grow -- Maria's Haze Heaven Hacienda!

Day something something...

Here are the last three youngsters.
Weather has been pretty terrible, very cold for here, temps 12C-15C, usually reserved for Jan/Feb.
A bit of rain, but it hasn't been too wet, at least, so humidity is reasonable (by local standards), 70%-80%.

This little girl came down today.
Her outer leaves are a bit tattered, but there's frost inside!
Just a few white pistils left, and the bracts have swelled nicely.

PXL_20241222_033834382.jpg

PXL_20241222_033843325.jpg

Has some nice fresh tropical fruit aromas.
Slightly citrus, but a real mix of flavors.
Nice level of stickiness!
Can almost see some purple coming out there perhaps on the bract tips.

Cut her, and she's hanging on the wall with her earlier sisters.

The Thicc Girl pheno, probably showing more of the SSSDH from mom SSSTN.
PXL_20241222_033910718.jpg

Her main cola
PXL_20241222_033922199.jpg

Chunky side nug facing south
PXL_20241222_033931584.jpg

And we cannot forget the Thai pheno, showing a really strong sativa flowering structure, not to mention strong crystal build up

PXL_20241222_033955163.jpg

Some beautiful crazy flower branching in there!
If you can see beyond those little single leaflet leaves, look inside...

PXL_20241222_034013253.jpg

and if we open her up a little...
PXL_20241222_034110590.jpg

She's going to be weeks to months at this rate.
While that means deeper into winter, the temps are already hitting winter lows.
And neither of these two ladies seems bothered by that.
It will be the cold + wet that may provide the challenge.

First season at this location, their mom went into middle of February.
I think both these girls will be finished before then, well, Thicc Girl pheno at least.
And the two Grail project girls went into March.
So please don't worry too much about me doing winter harvests here!

Meanwhile, the Pearl pheno and the other rough but sticky girl still need a couple more days drying.
They're still presently hanging on the wall.
I jarred up the Sticky pheno of the SSSTN (Aunty!), and she looks great and smells even better.
The last Grail project girl is still in the laundry (bag) because I haven't go myself another jar yet!

Peace and Love,
~MJS

Meanwhile...

PXL_20241222_032748251.jpg

Batty poo poo!
Yes, that's right, this is the local bat guano.
We can at least be sure now that these are insect-eating bats, not fruit-eating.
That means higher in N, with a bit of P and less K.

Because the bats are all gone now, I think I should just compost in place.
No need to move it around, throwing out dust.
But I should pick on patch (there is so, so, so much of it!) and turn it every now and then, though.

I already scooped up about a cup in a cut off bottle.
And spread that around some weeds near the garden, a couple of different types of weeds.
If they grow crazy well and green, and no problems, then I guess it's good and safe.

Or I could mix in some of the local 'soil.'
I say 'soil' because it is really just new natural compost, from leaves, branches, etc.
It's mostly sitting on the concrete driveway area, rather than being natural soil.
Anyway, I could first mix the guano with this compost, may help everything break down nicely.
Here's the local compost 'soil':
PXL_20241222_033110213.jpg

It's a terrible pic, because it's in the dark with a flash.
Outside is the same stuff, very fluffy, deep dark brown, still little leaves and twigs inside, but otherwise great compost / soil.

Nature is taking back these abandoned apartments.
Check out the roots on this tree!

PXL_20241222_035449992.jpg

All the best leading up to Christmas!
Love and hugs,
