That´s normal with a lot of long flowering sativas.
Don´t judge it so only by some fresh grows at the top of the buds.
This can still happen while old calyxes are already dying and the plant is may already super ripe!
So look carefully.
So, it´s much harder to find perfect time if you just used to indica or hybrids. But you have also more choice.
There are several plants in the picture, can´t judge which buds are which plant.
The head in the right back, who leans to the left looks ripe for example.

Smoke a quick dried testbud (oven at 60°C) is something you could try. Or check trichs at this point carefully. Thats how i do it.

early-bird thanks so much man. Really appreciate the insight and explanation. I totally agree with you. I only have a few grows under my belt (and those sativas).
I couldn't make sense of why flowers were still growing. Mostly what what l read or view speaks to the dialing it in.

I'll take them down on Sunday. Here are a couple l took this afternoon of the flowering bits.

Great picture, this one i find hard to read for me, quite strong new growth on theese buds, looks less ripe as some in the last picture
Guess a week more, i would really recommend smoke a testbud.
Or harvest some buds at different times, judge later and you know next time better ;)

Yes it is difficult and l have no where near your experience! 😆 So it is a fun adventure for sure. I agree with the experimentation. I'm doing it still. I upped the light to 360w. Just to see. I also agree with your thought yesterday about the maturity difference potential for each plant. It's really close.

Thank you again for having a look and sharing your thoughts. Super appreciated. 20231125_114937.jpg 20231125_114757.jpg 20231125_114640.jpg 20231125_114704.jpg

Looks beautiful and alot of similarities to my POTH from your skinny leaves. She looks to be finishing up. I'd check the trichomes to see if they are milky or clear. I am guessing they should be starting to turn white. You might not find any amber as the variety can grow, well the pure POTH, can go over 100 Days bloom easy. Looks like the Malawi has beefed her up. Can't wait to see how they cure up and a smoke report!

The plants on picture 1,2,4 looking almost perfect ripe to me, in particular the 1+4(!) i would chop now :)
In particular no 2+4 look like she start to degenerate if you let her go longer.

On the 3rd picture looks like it could be harvested, but may also possible to give it few days. But i usally harvest at this point too, looks like pretty ideal point to do so from here, quite a lot old braun calyx.
My overall strategy is better little early as a little to late.

Beautiful plants, well grown just a little overfed.

Thank you Chrono! I really appreciate the help and input. Makes all the difference to me.

I chopped them down this morning. They were very heavy and sticky and smelled wonderful. There was an almost floral register to the smell. Like wild roses and others that l recognize from other Ace grows. Crazy how heavy they got.

I just vaped a small bud that broke off and the word in my mind is soaring. So far so good. I'll try some again at Christmas.

I will grow this again and be better prepared. The reflowering is crazy. I never would have thought to take those down.

I just took down the finish on that SG l mentioned. Now to put it back together with new nut etc.

Thank you again Chrono for sharing your experience with me on this grow. Now to watch yours develop. Looking forward to seeing that mix grow! They are looking fancy.

Ha ha! It's like you're reading my mind. Took them down this morning. Tried a test bud also and this feels 👍. Just propelled l am.

Thank you again for your input on this and taking a look. I never would have known otherwise with crazy reflowering like that. A couple of wisps here and there sure but that reflowering kinda nuts.

Im happy to share my opinion any time, and I appreciate you showing off the grow .. gives me some perspective and something to look forward to.

Thats great you got the finish off, you going au natural? I always liked wood finish SGs but red is obv the classic. I had forgeooten about a epi someone gave a long time ago, Ive been meaning to fix it up and see what it can do. Best of luck with the guitfiddle Im sure youll have a custom hotrod in no time

That is very much appreciated.

I reliced the guitar a bit. Removed the candy gloss and tried to make it seem more like an old nitro finish. I think this one was a 1997 gx400 and l added some knobs to make it a 63 standard feel. I also replaced nut and tuners. I got it a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds good. Plays great. Songs write themselves. I haven't written Gumbys dad yet though. That was funny.😄.

I'll do the epi lp jr next. 20231129_130739.jpg

Rock on!

Here are a couple pictures of one plant after drying for a about a month. I didn't find any seeds yet.

My lack of a sense of smell limits my ability to describe the terpene profile. It smells to me like a creamsicle ice cream which may leave you wondering what that smells like. So sort of sweet citrus mango with cream and the slightest hint of liver. I was told while trimming this that the smell is super strong and that l should get my nose checked. Be that as it may, l am grateful to hear that because back in the day l associated a strong smell with good pot. They always went hand in hand.

The buds are neither dense nor fluffy. Not very hard after a month dry but very sticky. When you squish a piece of bud it becomes sort of like a piece of hash. This is what it felt like when I put it in my vape to test.

So let me try to describe the stone then...

l think a good indicator of really good smoke is when you keep forgetting to smoke more.

The effect was immediate. Very clear headed and no muddle. Energized.
I felt as if l were struck by a diamond bullet which in turn is my interpretation of what l think the Col. might have been meaning.

I felt propelled and compelled simultaneously.

So imagine that one part of your consciousness is blasting off into space and another part is wondering how high you will go.

Meanwhile and simultaneously another part of your consciousness has just cleaned the house and tended to other issues and you didn't even need to be there.

You just needed to listen to the music and wonder how high you actually were and two hours has gone by and you keep forgetting to smoke more

Dooood! Trip weed is real!

Thats so cool you found an electric racer pheno right off the bat. Congratulations and thanks for sharing your experience, Its great to hear another positive review of these haze types. Long live haze

Mine is dry enough to smoke and is jarred up and curing. All I can say so far is that it was more than worth the extra time to grow it and smoke reports OTW - I can totally relate to some of the effects you describe i got blasted off it last night at a friends house and had a hell of a nice time driving home. I was driving the ship last night .... 👽

Straight thru the ciruit board in real country darkness O my brother. That's driving... Hey man we gotta stop playing space and get home...

This stuff is made for jammin'. I totally 👍 re worth the timing. Its crazy. Everything I listen too sounds so snappy!

Do you think leaving it to dry for a month was overkill? It feels dry enough to smoke but not crumbly or anything. Also, and for science, l vaped some from the other plant to see if there was a difference. There was not...

I wonder what the cure will confer...

I am excited to see and may grow 2 more when l start the bangi haze in the spring.

Also have you ever tried oxacan strain?

So l am grateful to have grown this.

Oaxaca I have not tried it but I do have some Guatemala seeds from Ace they sent as freebies with my first order, I should pop those finally. They say its a great breeding tool but idk what they mean by that in what aspect. Not too far from Woah Hock Uh - was looking at a map and its way down there in Mexico

Panama is right in that area too. They must have some fantastic grass all through that region. You'd like the panama I'm sure but the Bangi Haze is something special. Welcome to terp town with the bangi haze and a really good high to the ones I got to try

I think drying it out in the open for 4 weeks is too much. I like to dry it 10 days, then pieced up and do a minor trim and into turkey bags for a few days, then jars and I start smoking out of it right away. That way the jars get burped and gives me plenty of second chances if I missed the mark.

Going into roasting bags helps me to control the moisture as it steps down to being jar level done.

Sometimes Ill keep the stems I took the buds off in there with them if I feel it's a bit too dry, and If I jumped the gun a tad and stems are all bendy with no snap I can keep just buds in the bag and have lots of space and air in the bag. Or squeeze most of the air out of the turkey bag, seal it tight and give it a bit of a sweat if things seem too crispy.

If you think your stash is too dry take a fresh fan leaf -if you have one -and seal it in a jar with it overnight. works a charm :)

Ive never tried it but you could probably use a coffee filter folded up and ripped in half and wet with clean water, I do that to re-hydrate my tobacco, this time of year is so dry

Merry Christmas! and Happy Holidays ICMAG, hope everyone has a great one this year!

Hey Chrono thank you for sharing that. It sounds like a good virtuos cycle! Especially the part about smoking as you are burping! Believe it or not the stems were still not snapping though not bendy either after that time. So good to know l can do that after a couple. The rehydration techniques are good to know. One last question: How long does cannabis in glass in a cool dark space last in your experience?

Yes the journey through the landrace strains is fun and interesting. You are right... I need a map on front of me. That's a nice lens to view and enrich my understanding of cannabis.

I have some Ace panama seeds and also a bangi cross w panama and Congo. So good times for me in the new year.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and all of ICMAG.

Nothing but goodness and health in the new year ✨🙌 🙏 😌

I'll see you in the stratosphere :')
