Malawi x PCK

I've got two Mal x PCK grown from seeds indoors at about 10.5 weeks which are looking great - purple/pink/green and packed with resin. The trichs are mostly cloudy with no amber yet but the plants haven't started to fade yet.

Does this strain give nicer effects if left to go long or is she better harvested earlier? Any tips as when to harvest? Thanks.

I already posted these pics in my thread, but why not here too?

Pics taken at 24 days of flower. Very sticky, smells like fresh strawberry with an "organic" undertone that I don't know how to describe. If you want more info about her you can check my thread. I will just post pics in this one :D

Can't wait to be able to share some pics of my MPCK. Currently a couple weeks into flower and one in particular (out of a 5 pack) is standing out above the rest. Another week, and they'll be far enough along to begin showing the progress.

Welcome Vincyseed :tiphat: Glad to hear it!

b8man sorry, i'm afraid i replied too late. Most Malawi x PCKs are ripe enough after 10 weeks and a half of flowering. I like this hybrid well ripen, depends on your personal preference. Kindly post some pics if you have the chance, thanks!

Looking great vcasqui! :) Already very resinous in early flowering, should gain weight in the upcoming 40 days of flowering with enough light intensity and proper feeding.

Good luck with yours kamyo ;) Always a pleasure to follow the progress of your plants!

I'll try to get some pics this weekend. They're about 3 weeks flower, although maybe 2 from pistils showing. A couple are going to be 50/50 purple phenos, and 2 green phenos 50/50 phenos. There's a shorter purple girl that seems more PCK inspired. Thicker pistils for sure and reminds me a bit of the purple PCK mom I have. The green phenos se the most resinous but the #3 purple pheno isn't too far behind.

Thanks Dubi - I cut them at 76 and 80 days flowering and am impressed with this strain for yield and ease of growing. They smell strongly of dark berries and fermented lemons (a lovely smell) and are insanely crystal covered. Here's hoping they hit the spot when I vape them.

Putting them in jars over the next few days so will get some photos. I hate the low-res/small size of the photos on ICmag otherwise I'd have taken some shots and posted them along the way.

Here are a couple of my purple girls.

Here's #3. She'll get more colorful as she grows out, but is probably my favorite so far. There's another one that's very similar. Has unmistakable fruity PCK smell. Almost exactly like my Bubba x PCK girl and other PCKs I've had.

And another one. Shorter than the others, seems like PCK dominant. Beautiful color.

Couple more pics, taken at 38 days since pistils.

Sadly I've been dealing with bud rot for the past week; the bites of mold were pretty small in general, but I had to remove a small portion of the plant, so she is not looking as pretty as she could. The worst part was having to chop the head. She still needs some more time, which I'm trying to buy for her, but I will have to harvest at any time from now; if I see any more rot areas, she is going down. Specially because I can only check on her personally every 3 or 4 days.

But anyways, most of the removed flower is not going to waste. I quick dried some healthy buds that I had to remove, and I'm smoking it right now. The good news is that she already gets me pretty high, so excuse my rumbling lol. Also she probably has medicinal value, since the pain relief is clear to me (not sure if this is because your body actually stops aching, or because it makes you not think about the pain). It's also causing me a slight hearth race and trembling limbs, but that might be caused because yesterday I got drunk and I still didn't eat (stomach pain). Around 1'5 hours since I started smoking, still around 5 small puffs left in the joint.

Thankfully tho, all the other buds are looking amazing. The pics are taken with natural light and the zoomed camera of the phone (digital zoom I guess).

Just a few pictures of the harvested Malawi x PCK. I had a lot to do and wasn't really in photography mood so apologies for the quality. They were great to grow and have what I'd describe as a very well balanced Sativa/Indica effect with a very welcome body element. They yielded fine but if I'd had a chance to run a cutting again I think they could give great yields. Recommended.

Lovely buds b8man! I've read and reread this thread several times and finally I have popped some of my own... 20/20 germination in 2 days and they are all looking strong.

Not quite sure what I'll be doing with them yet :)

I have shared clones of the green ones with my friends to run but I'm keeping the purple ones for myself! Under 11 hours of light, they are charging toward the finish line. Getting ready for the flush in another week. Several green ones have stopped pushing fresh pistols already. Smoke report in another month. Cheers, all!

I did the exact same thing. 3 out of 5 purple. Needed room in veg, so I gave away the green clones because I wasn't going to keep them anyway. But those green phenos are turning out to be some really nice plants. Very interesting smells.

Sorry to hear about the loss of the main top vcasqui, but the rest of the flowers look indeed great ;) Glad you are already enjoying with the early smoking tests, it will improve a lot, the complexity of the terpenes, potency, long lasting effects and the different stages of its effects get much more well defined after 3 months of curing.

This F1 usually finishes around mid October in the Iberian peninsula, rarely she need to go further than the 3rd week of October. Happy harvests! :)

Lovely nugs b8man! :D

10-11 weeks is perfect harvest time for the better yielding and longer flowering phenos of this F1. You have perfectly described the terpene profile of the purple sativa phenos ;) With a proper curing, the aromas translate with all its nuances to the taste
Please, keep us updated with a smoke report when you feel is the right time. Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Glad you keep a purple mother for future grows MIGreenman ;)

Both phenos (green and purple) are great, the green ones finish in average a few days earlier than the purple more sativa expressions, the green ones have overall a more narcotic indica type of effect. I also prefer the purple more sativa ones.

The good thing is both phenos produce very different terpene profiles, yet very appealing and unique on their own. We did a very good selection of this F1 before its release, and we keep mothers since then of our favorite green (#16) and purple (#47) selections.
Green mother #16 has not been introduced much into new hybrids, but purple mother #47 was the mother of Red Sapphire release, and there are some new hybrids of her on the R+D section of our website.

I have shared clones of the green ones with my friends to run but I'm keeping the purple ones for myself! Under 11 hours of light, they are charging toward the finish line. Looking wonderful after 6 weeks of flowering kamyo  super resinous and beautiful.

Judging from here just by appearance, this is the type of colorful expressions i would select for, although the quality of terpenes, potency, long lasting and quality of the effects must be also on the top to be considered a real winner coming from this F1, anyway it is not difficult to find that purple winner even with selections from relatively small sized purple populations.

Glad you have had perfect germination with your seed lots El Timbo :)

Do you plan to grow and flower them outdoors now during autumn/winter ?

Yes - my plan is to select plants that perform best outdoors in winter here. They are outside all day and night with a solar light at night to stop them from early flowering.

One idea I have is to try to develop separate green and purple lines.
