2019 grow

2019 grow

A couple of pics of my one Malawi x PCK plant this year. Last year I had four from standard seeds and two from feminized seeds. Of that group there was fairly good consistency in the phenos. The feminized seemed a little more resiny, but one had an odd aroma I didn't love. My favorite was from a regular seed. Really great smell and large dense buds.

This year I germinated my last two regular seeds and got one female. Here it is.
It's done well. It's in the same spot as my favorite last year. The structure this time looks a bit more Malawi to me. Slightly more sative appearance. Also bit more green and less purple so far in the flowers. Seems like some weeks to go still.

Photo taken in late afternoon so the sunlight is quite golden.

This purple phenotype is developing a nice taste/smell of wild berries and lemon after a month or so of curing. That high is powerful indeed. I'm trying to stay away from her little jar so it cures even longer. I'm pretty sure I could make really nice hash from that one. Between the Snow Moon, the Tikal and this one, she was the more resinous. I had to clean my pruner every bud or so or it wouldn't close anymore ^^

Another mother I'll keep for sure.

A friend of mine found her to be my best success since I'm growing my own and has asked me for a cut for next outdoor season. We are already making the clones for next year so we get big trees :). The law says one plant per house, then didn't specify the size so trees it will be

Hi musigny23,

Thanks a lot for your feedback  A pleasure to see your success with all the different sativa x PCK hybrids during 2019 outdoor season, all the different strains your grew last year performed great and finished suprisingly fast.

Malawi x PCK is without any doubt one of our best and most complete sativa/indica F1 hybrids in our catalogue, and both versions (regular and fem) are fairly consistent and have the potential to produce a very similar outcome.

Your female from last year looks indeed more green and sativa.
How did she finish ? Did you like her outcome, like in previous seasons ?

Thanks also for your feedback BenoitV1984!

Glad to hear Malawi x PCK performed well last outdoor season in your climate, and that the strain produced your best outdoor result from last year.

You perfectly described the terpene profile of my favorite expressions of the purple pheno of the strain: a mix of chemical-fermented lemons and berry bubblegum :yummy:
Glad her effect is strong and desirable, until the point it's hard to resist to visit her jars :D

Hi El Timbo,

Malawi x PCK F2 will produce huge variability, allowing almost any possible recombination of traits between the 2 so different parental lines involved in the F1: from very Malawi phenotypes, to almost pure Pakistani expression and all sort of intermediate combinations (more similar to the original F1, but with lesser vigor, lesser yield and lower peaks of terpene and cannabinoid production in average).

If you like Malawi x PCK F1, Malawi, PCK and to explore through diversity with the possibility of finding interesting or remarkable novel phenotypes, then it's worth to do it.

Has anyone made and grown F2s of this hybrid? And if so what were the results like?

cool - that's what I'm hoping for :)

The green pheno of this F1 hybrids usually has usually sweeter/candy type of aromas, while the purple pheno shows more evidently the classic forest fruit terpenes from the purple PCK parental plant and also a strong fermented lemony background.

Green pheno is equally strong as the purple one, maybe more narcotic in average.

Is it easy to identify purple and green males?

Nice buds of beautiful colors. It looks to me like the leaves have a nice fading too, how long would you say they will go? (until harvest I mean). The 2 on the back seem to have broader leaves as well (at least the one to the right), are they more PCK leaning phenos?

They all seem to have a very columnar structure. How long did you veg them for? What size are the pots?

If you don't mind me asking :)

very nice...have you sampled along the way?

Thanks brick, sorry but I don't understand (my english is poor:)), u mean if I taste some buds the answer is no, if u mean if I take a clones the answer is yes.

Thanks vcasqui.
I'll be waiting one week until harvest, using microscope I see some trichomes aren't ready at all, probably is mine headtrip.
The one on the left is malawi pheno, lemon flavour and little more height then others PCK dominant (bubblegum and forest flavour and purple colors).

I work in 60x60x140 growtent with old gen burple led (170w efective), texpots 7L (small size but this is experiment), after 20 days of veg in 3L plastic pots switched and sexed, taked clones who now are waiting for the summer run.
I use biobizz lighmix with perlite and wormcasting, little bit of alga mic and biobloom during first month of bloom.
After curing I'll post a report, if u want see my run I've a thread.:tiphat:

Thanks for the answer. I was checking your grow report, but it is in Italian and don't really understand much hehe. Nice pics there tho.

I'll wait for the smoke report.
Have a nice day :)

If u need more detail I'll try to answer in my possibility, also in my 3d (no problem), count I'm absolute beginner in indoor (Bowie cit.), I'm always growed in balconing.
I want to say something about Ace's strain ans Ace's team without asslicking, just my impression...
I try Zamaldelica, Nepal Jam, Congo, Haze x Kali china, Orient express abd other stuff...always found the exactly description by Dubi (flavour, growing tips...)
Great custumers service, in IC the best vendors forum...probably one of the best in the business with great diversity of strains and philosophy of preservation.
For me the goal is: at least one Ace's seeds in every grow:headbange

This and unclefishsticks rotation where he puts a new set into the flower tent within hours after harvest of previous crop are good rules to grow by.

My sample question was whether you smoke tested any before harvest...look forward to your future smoke reports. Nice grow!

Awesome results SamPorter! :tiphat: So happy for you!

Malawi x PCK is probably along with Zamaldelica x Kali China our best sativa/indica F1 hybrid with more desirable traits in a single line, surprised more growers are not paying more attention to both.

Glad you have had a good experience also with Zamaldelica, Nepal Jam, Congo, Haze x Kali china, Orient Express and other genetics from us. Thank you very much for your feedback and kind words, me and my team really appreciate it, we work very hard to try to provide best possible genetics but also the best customer service we can, as we say in spanish 'nos dejamos la piel' :) Enjoy!
