Ha Ha I knew something was out of proportion I will weigh the next micro dose just out of interest. I wish I could smoke some to try that way but my lungs are stuffed so I have to chew the bud.

Chem Dog Cobb

Chem Dog Cobb

Just broke out the Chem-Dog 4 cobb from a bunch of curing time.
Sliced off a .5 gram chunk to chew, and about the same to smoke.

at 2:30 I chewed it up. Ok say i'm strange, but I liked the flavor. reminiscent of all the flavors that went in, but aged like wine.. Very pleasant, extremely stony, Dreamy/Trippy, powerful yet not feeling over dosed. Nice head rushes. Began feeling extremely nice in about 20 mins. It's past 7 pm now and I awoke about 1/2 hour ago. Not really sure when I fell asleep. So peaceful. (wife not home)

I think I will try 1/2 that next time.

So the question of whether Indica Dominant varieties benefit from this great cure is answered for me.
:dueling:

Now smoking more lol.

This method really preserves individual properties of the buds effects compared to most edibles which feel "Generic" to me.

After all the sampling and such that has led up to now I still have 14 grams. Resealing this baby back up and getting ready for use as stocking stuffers.

This is a really unique experience.

Right on. its great, isn't it? opens new doors for consumption and possibly treatment/effectiveness, not to mention ease of preparation... whats not to like about that? lol

I love it when some one who appreciates the effects has such a positive experience and nice descriptions as well on the money as far as I am concerned. After it has aged a bit more I am finding across the board that after 3 months aging 0.1grams or less is the right dose. I like going up to 0.5g if I have nothing to do as it fills in your whole day wonderfully.
But 0.1g give or take is a very pleasant all day trippy high.
Every cob will be a different experience and each cob of each strain has something special to offer. They are never the same even from the same plant, similar maybe but also different.
Nice job on the cure the proof of a cob is in the eating or rather chewing you can sense all the different elements that make it unique. Nice job brother.

Yes! There will be cobs made of all my future harvests.
I was not a big fan of standard edible type preparation.
The high is not the same.

For the more Hardcores amongst us, this CD 4 type cob would make a hell of a combo with speedy psychedelics. Ahhhhhh, collage day's of long past.

Hi Tangwena!

I am going to try a cob cure for the first time because of your thread!

I harvested several beautiful 16 week SSH from Mr Nice Seeds.

When I jar cure, I trim and manicure carefully for the look. But it seems that with a cob cure, I don't need to put QUITE as much attention on manicuring the buds because it will all be compressed anyway. Is that correct?

Also, I overdried many of my plants. If I can rehydrate them to a 62% humidity, will they be good for a cob cure? I have them in plasitc bags with Boveda packs right now, restoring the humidity. I would like to do several 1.5 OZ cobs if possible.

thanks for the inspiration!

Good on you for giving it a go my friend, once they are rehydrated by the boveda packs they should be fine, make sure you use fresh green maize husks and that will help.
You cant fuck the buds up so even if it doesn't work 100% you will still have good smoke, so nothing to loose.
If it was me I would put the vacuum sealed cobs in a crock pot or other low heat source on the lowest setting possible for 24hrs.
That should do the trick.
If you seal half an ounce of buds alongside the cob you will be able to see them change color in the crock pot. This will show you that all is working well. Also it will cure the loose buds nicely as well.
Please post pics and I will help if I can, also I just love looking at new cobs.

Would you put it in an empty crock pot, or with some water? Is this to warm it up only, or is it to hydrate it a little?

thanks!

I have only made it to page 24 so far and will continue reading, but I am having real problems finding fresh corn in the store with the husk still intact.

I can find bagged dry husks they use for tamalis will this work? Should I lightly soak them first?

I was thinking about using fresh fan leafs, wrapping that in the buds then wrap it with the fully dried corn husks. Hopefully the cannabis leafs will add moisture back to the husk?

Any suggestions guys?

Once the cobs /buds are vacuum sealed in the plastic they will be water proof, use water in the crock pot and weight the cobs down as they will float.
This is to warm it up and stimulate fermentation. Sometimes the bag will inflate like a balloon from the vaporised condensation inside the bag its all good.
Once the bags are removed they will deflate as the vapor inside condenses.
Once cooled they can be removed and semi dried. Expect to see some water inside the bag, this is from the buds, they sweat inside the bag and this is normal.
Once semi dried take a piece to try and re seal the cob in a vacuumed bag to age for a month or more. They will continue to cure slowly vacuumed inside the bag at room temp.
After a month they can be dried and used.
You can use them straight away but they will get stronger as they age.
