Another star is born, sounds like you aced it brother onward and upwards from here ha ha.it turned to be super! wow! after my first attempts i didn't expect anything like this now. i love the amnesia core cut, but i want to marry this cob cured version. it's damn smooth and nice. high lasts long time and it's more alive. i even got some uncontrollable giggles so i had to hide myself when being in publicfermentation changed great weed to master one. thank you for sharing this method and other tips.
Good advice brother its a lot easier to control in a bag. I got mold even when I pulled a vacuum on the jar when I tried to cure it in a vacuumed jar.Pulling out the oxygen is safer, especially early on in the process when there is significant moisture content. Once they're fully cured and dried to stable jar is fine.
I'd be tempted to read the last 30 or so pages rather than the first few; the technique has evolved over time.I’m going to give this a try next harvest in about 12-18 weeks! I made it to page15 and didn’t see mention yet of using lotus leaves. I happen to have a bunch of these on hand and no corn husks. Thoughts on lotus leaves?
I use kitchen twine. Like the stuff people use for poultry bondage.Quick question. What are you using to tie the cobs? May have to give this a try.
Thanks! Got a piece out and drying for a day or so at about 50%rh. Its definitely becoming lighter in color as it dries, but the stick is still somewhat bendable, and the center still looks dark and is softer than the "rind". I will leave it out for another day and see what happens. Got a few more on the way, a good opportunity for some good old trial and error.I'm sure there are better answers but experience helps.
Pliable is still a bit moist. Smell will tell you a lot.
If you're not 100% on it you can just leave it out till you're sure of it, it won't over dry easily like bud.
I have found pieces of cob that have been out of any container for a long time -like months, that were still perfectly acceptable, great even. Still smooth and strong. Weird
In some of the places where cobbing is tradition you'll often acquire ganja in something like newspaper or loosely folded plastic sheet, over dry seems to matter a little less to cobbed gear
If you loose the ganja smell them its over fermented not the best taste IMO.Wetter cobs seem to be an overwhelming fermented kind of smell, almost like pickles.
Once you get the knack it will become second nature to you and the buds will dictate how to cure them.a good opportunity for some good old trial and error.
Love Swazi love the high its worth growing big time.Made another one haha, this time some swazi I harvested on 9 feb, dried 4 days, sweated 12-13 hours, smell is very close to the golden tiger cob, but then again both had this astringent floral woody bouquet that turns into spicy goodness upon fermenting
