I just finished reading this thread and want to thank Tangwena for sharing this !

I will be trying it with my next harvest

I had already come up with my own way of doing something similar and am anxious to see the difference

Hi Riddleme it may take a few shots to perfect but if you follow the directions closely and dont loose your nerve. You will get a change that is noticeable and a smooth smoke straight away. But practice makes perfect and you can cut down the learning curve, by doing multiple cobs and sweating for different times on each one, if you have enough bud. I wish you every success and look forward to seeing your results. Good luck my friend.

Thanks, it seems pretty straight forward, I invented a fermentation chamber that I use to cure buds in a similar fashion, just not wrapped. This is a Blue Dream bud that has been in the jar for a bit over a year usin my method.

Hi buddy looks good similar to sweat cured buds by the look of it, you can get the same cure without wrapping the buds in a cob, just simply sweating them and then vac sealing them and sweating again in a warm place for 2 or 3 weeks, but I am sure you noticed that if you read the thread. The fact that its still greenish tells me it didn't sweat much. Make sure when you try the cob method you get a good sweat going before and during the vac sealed cure. That is the most important part, without it you will not get a good cure with this method.

1 week sweated

1 week sweated

These buds were sweated for only 1 week you can see the sugar leaves did not change color, then the buds have been aged for 5 months.
The shorter sweat leaves greens in the color, except the Zamaldelica buds that were sweated for 2 weeks you can see the sugar leafs have cured as well as the buds with the longer sweat.
The high on the short sweated buds is not as trippy as the long sweated buds that change color. But I like both these are smooth smoking and the high very similar to straight jar cured. Better for everyday use.

Riddleme's post shows what i presume is the cob in a plastic bag before and after a period of sweating, it shows the perspiration inside the bag, which is good. I presume the cob was then vacuum sealed to cure. If so then it is on the way to a sweat cure.

And here we go

Kumaoni land race sativa mixed with zamaldelica

Welcome to the club Riddleme. You're going to love the final product. The toughest part is not smoking it all before aging it properly. If you think making one cob is enough, make two just to be safe.

I made 5 cobs from my latest Durban Poison harvest, and Ive already consumed two cobs. Probably close to 3 oz worth in the last month and a half, but I do enjoy my smoke...

I can't wait to see the results of your cob after the vac-seal period. Please report back. :thank you:

I wanted to second Tang's thoughts on cobs being a much smoother smoke to enjoy. A cob can still make you cough if you take too big of a hit, but it wont leave you in coughing fits that inferior weed often does.

I share alot of my cobs with a coworker and he always remarks how its a smooth smoke and never leaves him hacking his lungs up, yet any regular buds he smokes has a tendency to leave him in coughing fits.

Itd be worth doing for that alone if thats all it did, but those who've cobbed know what all the fuss is about.

A buddy I shared a cob I made with also commented about what a nice smooth smoke the cob makes.

@Tangwena

At the moment I am sailing on a ship, far, far from any port. When I look behind I see only the vast Ocean.....when I look ahead I see only the same. I did the experiment and ate .5 gram of the original LMN Angola cob that I made last October. 8 months in the jar now and your story about eating cob versus eating edibles like cookies or brownies got me ready for another experiment in my life of learning.

Surprisingly fast onset. Much quicker than my usual brownie made with canna butter extract. Within 45 minutes I was feeling soft, and could tell my thoughts were more fluid. 90 minutes in I was smiling and laughing at the MJnivana posts, especially the ones that were meant to be funny. Yeah, they were funny but in another way. I could see the poster and that made my laughter double.

3 hours in and I was still accelerating in slow motion. We were going out to dinner in the next town 12 miles away and I asked my wife to drive. I could have, too, but forgetting you're at the wheel is not my favorite way to wake up. Better to enjoy being the passenger on a rocketship to Mars than have to adjust all those gauges and pedals, eh?

It's 7 hours in now and I'm just about as high as I was at 3 hours....perhaps a tad less. I still am deep inside my head, enjoying dreams in the day. I need an absolutely pure Sativa (NLD) to test against this. LMN's Angola might very well have a little Indica (WLD) according to inside sourcerers...hahaha. The energizing aspect is subtle - I don't really feel like moving, but when I do its quick and smooth, like vanilla kung fu.

Thanks so much for the idea. I might have a new daily working dose (probably like .2 grams) instead of my sugar cube brownie piece. Lovely, lovely.

Thanks my friend I thought it was only me who went down the rabbit hole he he.
I have found that chewing the cobbed bud into powder and then spitting it out gives a stage one high.
stage 2 is when the masticated cob is then spat out into a cup and made into a tea with a tea bag and milk, the high from the chewing is pretty quick onset say 15 mins, the high from drinking the tea comes about an hour later and lasts up to 8hrs.
Stage 3 the strongest is when you swallow the dregs after drinking the tea. This is the most powerful effect and can last up to 12 hours dependent on the strain.
If I just want a buzz I chew the bud and then do not swallow it.
If I want to leave reality behind then the tea and drinking the dregs will work every time.

Ha ha "leave reality behind" ha ha ha. Now that is as clear a description as anyone could hope for. Proceed beyond this point at your own risk, comes to mind.

I test it now

I test it now

I have now harvest some critical kush and some unknown sativa from a mix bag by sensiseeds (my ace malawi still needs some weeks).

the first pic is a critical kush bud, i have not cobed that yet still to wet.

the cob is made from the unknown sativa, the small buds from lower branches, just to test it so i not tuin everything. it is now sweating and i will seal it in vacuum tomorrow.

i keep you posted, the cob is placed in a plastic bag in a hot place to sweat and it is smelling really much right now...

not know yet

not know yet

What do the curing cobs smell like? I assume it's at least somewhat strain dependent, is that a good guess?

i not know that part yet, when just put in a cob and put to sweat, mine right now smell really really strong of fresh buds - or how to explain it. they not smell sweet they smell strong.

Hi miyagi you are on the journey brother, after the sweat, vacuum seal the cob for 2 to 3 weeks in a warm place, when you open the bag after 3 weeks you should be greeted by a sickly sweet smell, this tells you it is done right.
Then part dry it, you can smoke it then ok. But if you keep some of it part dried in a jar or vacuum sealed for at least 3 months it will become very much stronger.
Please post some pics after the 3 week vacuum seal.
