Hi windycity, did you sweat the cobs before vac sealing them? If not just open the bags and leave them in a warm place for 24hrs until they have perspiration on the inside of the bag, they should be quite damp.
Then re seal and vac them again and leave them for 2 or 3 weeks. From the look of the cob you have opened it seems they are too dry to cure properly. But if the buds are damp then they will cure alright in the vac bag. No harm will come to the buds either way, its just that the sweat cure will not happen unless this is done.
If the cure has taken place you will smell a strong sweet smell when you open the bag after 2 or 3 weeks.

You can try and leave the cobs altogether in the same bag, it may help them sweat, if they dont they are too dry now.
They will still cure a little if you vac seal them up for say 3 weeks, but they will not amalgamate like a sweated cob, you have not hurt them they will still smoke well and you may get a bit of a cure as well. You may even like the partial cure, it usually tastes good.
Next time try the buds a bit less dried, the timing of the sweating of the buds is important to get the cob to sweat in the vac bag.
The good thing is if you seal them for 3 weeks or more they will cure a bit, and it will improve the buds as I said you may also like it, I do.

commercial post: just pertains to the commercial market.

it's going to be very interesting to present cobs to customers.

custies like rock hard buds. the sativas are fluffy and joe public is too fucking stupid atm to give the best personal smokes the credit they deserve.

I used to sell powder coke in college 40 years ago. I quit after I saw ppl overindulging and the damage that ensued. everyone used to fully enjoy the ritual of chopping up the rocks with a razor blade. it was no doubt a ritual.

today the custies love to fondle well formed buds like they had a grail rack of playboy titties in their hands. I watch the facial expression including the way the mouth forms while they perform this ritual as they then prepare the bud for smoking and I see the ritual in effect once more.

i'm thinking the cobs could be quite a hit with the masses that buy their bud. we all bought bud. 99+% of all bud consumed was/is purchased. the cobs look to me like the perfect product for the ritual.

I always tell my crew that cannabis is like a ritualistic religion. most of the bud that joe public buys here is all bag appeal ( we don't get the great bag appeal here usually, just bright green beaster looking indica dom with no color, little frost_ and piss poor smoke with under 1 hour duration highs and tolerance build up issues) this shit goes for $350/0z all day. i'm located pretty much as far away from med states as you can get. ppl are not getting high like back in the '70's. for them it's not about the smoke, since the smoke is shit. pure shit.. i'm serious. it's a ritual.

the cobs made off some grail personal smoke look to be potentially fantastic ritual material.

it will be interesting to see the reactions this fall fo sho.

thrift stores have these vacuum seal models with bags all the time and they go for cheap$. lots of xmas or wedding gifts clutter that makes it way to the second hand stores.

tang will chime in to correct me but my take so far is the importance of anaerobic (no oxygen).

Had to google what a thrift store is.. a kind of flea market I take it?

I'll keep my eyes open for vacuum bags, but if I don't find any I might try it the traditional way.

I've had interesting reactions to the cobs. They haven't gone over quite as well as I was hoping, but it's a very small sample size of 5 people.

These are too strong for most of the people who I've tried them on. To be fair, I didn't give them Tang's two-hit warning. They probably take 5 or 6 hits off the pipe, and then the strain is a creeper to begin with, so when it's peaking it really tends to take your breath away with surprise. The trippy nature of them is another matter to deal with as well. None of the test subjects had ever tried tropical NLD cannabis before, let alone cobbed NLD. This is all very new to them.

In addition to idiit's rock buds ritual point, people in this part of the country want their product to taste and smell like candied skunk glands. If it's not mouth-coating-skunk-funk, it tends to fetch a lower price regardless of how great the effect may be. There are exceptions to the rule, but if not skunk funk, it had better be obnoxious. This is an exceptionally superficial part of the country. The cobs have a very mild odor and flavor. Each unique, and each complex, but mild nonetheless. The smell/taste/effect gives the impression that "this isn't weed", just as I believe Tang has said... I've heard flavor comparisons to natural tobacco (makes sense with the sweat cure). I liken it to light beer vs. dark beer in flavor. This part seems to be a hang up with some.

I do plan to bring these around some shops--if no luck moving them, to introduce some of the cannabis spectrum to folks, and expand some minds. I don't know how they'll be perceived there, but I'll let you guys know. I really love the cobs and have a hard time enjoying the effect of anything else. They're worth a lot to me personally. Edibles made from cob remind me of the stories about westerners trying bhang lassi for the first time. POTENT

taste appeal to a prescient 6 year old is important in my area too.

Good to see people are getting to try real cured pot, I am not surprised by the commercial reaction. It really only appeals to hard pot smokers who want something different and to old guys like me who cant get high enough from anything else.
As long as the personal sativa and hybrid growers who seek quality in their grows and want to experiment with their pot like it, thats all that really matters and I am glad to see some do.
This will always be and should be just for a select few, its not for everyone and never will be. Not everyone who drinks alcohol likes the strong spirits some prefer light beer or wine, pot is no different. But for those of us who cant get high enough this is the path to take IMO. Get the right strain, harvested at the right time, cured properly and we all know it cant get any better.

Tangwena is da man. A weed visionary, if you will, boldly charting a new course in the eternal search for a more powerful high.
On that subject I had some Panama followed by some GT and got all creative and decided to make some ISO oil from a Neve Haze cob I made over 12 months ago and had vac sealed.
The smell is giving me a stiff its for adults only. I had to take some pics as its still nice and slightly moist in the centre. The iso oil will be magic I am sure. I have enough getting high for now and need some stoney gear I have been getting way to high lately.

Fuck yeah, we been hitting the zamaldelica cob and it is everything
we thought it would be. I switched to the hashish for a while and
will let the cob cure for a few more weeks as my head will surely
explode from too much cob.

Chopped that thunk the other day and will wrap it soon.

I have enough of that thunk to cob and lay some down for hashish too.

My wife can't get enough, she's all over it, lol

Fuck yeah.
