Tangwena, one of our members dug up your posts on chewing, so no need to respond to my query. Now you have me really excited. Lol!
Led05 said:doesn't pulling a "vacuum" do just that, displace all the air in there, leaving little to none behind depending on how good a vac you get?
Then as fermentation starts Co2 will be everywhere in there? I'm pretty sure pumping in Co2 would be a moot exercise.
The best and simplest method is having the COBs inside a vacuum bag, that should be the first route anyone wanting to try cobbing should take...
I'm just throwing ideas for other variations... my rationale being you cannot vacuum all air inside a mason jar.
Even if vacuum is really strong, (something I wouldn't try on glass containers as the risk of implosion is rather high, moreso with temperature variations) air, and oxygen will remain inside. Be careful mixing powerful vacuum machines with glass containers!
The idea is using an inert, heavy gas like CO2 to displace air out of the mason jar, with or without vacuum. Let me repeat, I'm not endorsing this, just sharing ideas for those with the resources/knowledge willing to try other routes (at their risk, CO2 is not something to play with!)
The best bet is following the final universal method as in the diagrams.
I'm not sure where you got this idea, you've already answered your own question
That article was very interesting reading and gives a lot of info on changing the coloration of the leaf and setting that color as well.there has been quite a bit of study around tobacco fermentation although it was a long time ago, like 1930-1950's or something from memory. Somewhere in this thread a while back I linked to some of these articles or someone else did... If you have the time, it's old but interesting reading - lab settings, paid scientists etc and they played around quite a bit with it, I imagine there's more than a few scholarly articles from this time period. I'm certain it's very similar to the process we're doing here, very different plants however
Hi Sue as I am very old I had to give up smoking or die it was that simple ha ha.Are you suggesting chewing instead of smoking Tangwena?
Trust me, I'll have no problem letting go. Lol!
You're right jonhova, diagram just mentioned "hot bath".
I updated it, hope the use of water is clearer now, any instructions should be as specific as possible.
Then just put a cup of water. This is a non issue because it's in a water proof bag. You just want the 40C heat.
Bear in mind the temps we are talking about are not high at all just warm you can stick your hand in there no problem 40 to 60c is not hot at all so no problem in the plastic bag or anything else its very mild.Thank you. I missed that piece of information. Im not perfect lol.
Does the cob need to be submerged in water or can it be in a mason jar? Id feel more comfortable if i stuff it vaccum wrapped in a pint mason jar in a crock pot.
Hi Sue as I am very old I had to give up smoking or die it was that simple ha ha.
Luckily for me I have always put everything in my mouth since I was a baby ha ha.
I and a few members here have been chewing pieces of matured cob for a long time.
I use between 0.1 and 0.5g chewed into dust and then washed down with liquid.
The amount needed will depend on your tolerance typicaly heavy smokers need larger doses than non smokers 0.5g to 0.75g.
I chew every day I just rotate the strains depending on what effects I am after.
One dose chewed lasts between 6 to 12hrs depending on the strain.
I like to trip out as much as I can but saying that I have found a lot of heavy smokers get little effect from what would have me in orbit. So you need to experiment on doses if you want to go down that path.
It works and is very strong for extended periods you just have to find the dose that works for you.
The high is very different from smoking and can take an hour to start. Just remember it keeps going up from the one hour mark and can be very overwhelming in high doses.
Smoking is great for an instant hit but if you want to stay high all day from one hit chewing is heaven plus you can do it anywhere and no one is the wiser until you start peaking ha ha.
First things first make your cobs then you can explore what will be a new feeling for you I am sure.
Grass gives the best high in the world if it is strong enough and treated right.
Then cobbed sativas are for you energy to spare plus euphoria and creativity all day long just chew it until its dust and then wash it down works a treat and much nicer high than hash I have tried both many times.I'm interested in the 'chewing' idea.
Do you guys chew like one would tobacco or chew to eviscorate and swallow?
Not sure if enzymes in the saliva would be enough to make oils available.
Side note, I've been eating hash lately to get my all day relief. A nice 1/4 to 1/2 gram with something oily (mmmm peanut butter toast) and I'm good to go for a majority of the day.
Much different effect from smoked hash.
Smoked hash makes me want to find my way to a chair, if eaten it makes my body electric and tense. Energy is prominent, even if it's a narcotic type plant or if I have no energy to spare.
Snap I am 64 this year so dont go calling me young ha ha.You make my heart beat faster every time you talk like this. Lol!
The Malawi is hanging in the hallway driving me wild with her fragrance. I'll do my first cob in the morning, follow the next day with another, and if I have enough to make a decent cob, another on the third day.
I'll do my best to make you proud. I'm 64 and apparently growing younger by the day. Tickles the hell out of me to hear you guys call yourselves old.
