There's a video on youtube from a Mayor of a town about 25K from Fukushima. He's pleading for people that WON'T listen to the govt to come and help them and bring food and petrol........
Because their govt says stay indoor so they can't do anything themselves.
All the reports you've been hearing about iodine-131 in the air, milk and rain/drinking water here in the U.S.... ever wonder why they don't mention any other isotope?
The detectors they're using only pick up iodine-131 because it's the cheapest and easiest to identify. The ability to detect the other "deadly" particles that are _always_ present when you find iodine-131 is ridiculously expensive so they don't do it.

This is my last post on this thread. It's been less than a month and we already have 100+ levels of radiation in drinking water in some states and rising levels in milk. I wish it were different but these levels will stay that way... even get worse over time.
See... the facts they don't want you to realize are that this WILL continue for at least the next several months. Realistic estimates put it at several decades.
I suggest that everyone take a second to think about their background in nuclear energy research and the time they spent studying radiation and its effects on flesh and stone. I suggest that those who don't have this background take a moment to seek out someone near them who does.... and ask their opinion.
You wouldn't ask your brother's wife's second cousin who was a dedicated, lifetime farmer for detailed advice about brain surgery.... would you? Why are you listening to people who (admittedly, and often obviously) have no experience with the subject?
