Heres some pics of the finished buds about 19 days after harvest. due to long flush, they already taste good, but will do smoke report next month for those here in the cali med scene who have recieved this cut, or those who are just curious!
Impressive job subrob. I'm very curious what nutes you use. I saw you mention canna but im unfamiliar with it. Again.. wow and very nice job. From what i know, the salmon creek big bud was a select phenotype from old school sensi seeds big bud. The similarities are remarkable.
Excellent grow and the photos were some of the best I have seen. This strain looks so ridiculous with the amount of orange hairs and trich. coverage!!! Excellent job to the grower and the photographer!
weaterdayz-thanks, ya pretty stinky, not the roadkill i had hoped for, but its kinda underneath a sweeter smell. its as if two strains were crossed, and instead of it making a new aroma, it kept both, one just stronger than the other. does that make sense? sure seems to make sense after smoking a bowl!!
chili-thanks again man. i use canna hydro fertilizers. i have used many ferts over time, and i am very happy. check out www.igshydro.com. i think they are one of few, if not only, west coast<usa> distributor. my bro is actually using the canna bio as we speak on the madness, and we will be able to compare. tell you what, i have had sensi big bud, and while i thought it was a good solid strain(smoking-not growing) it wasnt something i would go out of my way for. and while the jury is still out on just how impressed i am with this, everything is pointing to me keeping this around for awhile. have seen pics of the salmon creek, and it is remarkably similiar in appearance, cant find much in the way of smoke reports though. if it isnt a one of a kind strain, i would bet that you are right, the coloring of the buds, and the pictures of it growing are just too similiar, thanks for the input. hows that thunder fuck coming along?
rainman-thanks for the comments.it is funky lookin! my bro is gettin real good with his camera work, but even the best photos cant really get the true color across!! everytime he snaps a photo, it gets closer though!!
whoops hit enter too stoned , oh yea I had some DRATOMIC NLxSHIVA like that(all orange) it was one of the stinkiest skunky lemony sweetness .....yours looks dank I hope it taste good.....
a little update bump. i wanted to show some pics of my bros organic plants. canna bio and soil, though he has now switched the soil back to fox farms. these girls were flowered very early to avoid height problems, used a 400 hps, and grown in perfect conditions. they were an incredible smoke and just beautiful to watch grow. not quite as sweet smelling, but tasted wonderful, and of course AWESOME high. enjoy....sub
if it takes hella long for the hairs to start going orange, then I would put my money on it being the same clone. SCBB starts to orange it's hairs like day 50+ and best harvested day 64-70 for full ripeness. 64 is a tad on the early side, but still great.
Sub: Dude what a sweet display of San Diego's Madness! Hydro and Organic shots, unlike most posts haha thanks man for sharing! Question on the organic plants though: Why the layer of perlite/white sheet to cover the soil? Reflective purpose? Slow the rate of evaporation? Just being nosey...
I really recently got me a cut of Madness from G down in SD (he made a co-op drop off in the valley), and thankfully I've got your thread now for the cross-referencing (this is the only thread on ICM about SD Madness, hrm). I've smoked SCBB and Mendo Madness before, both were a strong sativa high-speed racy skunk high but I still liked them for their daytime use. I am going to make sure to not pull my Madness early, the full 70days like you did, for the full indica/amberness to come out -
Can you give us a more detailed assessment of the effects from your Madness being pulled this late? Thanks again Sub, excellent grow and photography!
wow-havent been thru here in awhile-though i will be choppin a MADNESS girl in bout 5 or 6 days!
spicoli-sorry i missed ya! lol thanks bro
neptune-thx man-still workin on what i told you bout last week.
budrunners-og costello-rubber chicken, thanks to all for stoppin in and your comments! i will put up some fresh pics soon-i never get tired of looking at (or smokin) MADNESS!
Dragor-well im stoked you got her - ive been askin him to make sure someone else who posts here gets her! i wanna see what others think of her. I will ask my bro bout the perlite on top, im sure he told me, but cant remember!lol im excited that you have had SCBB and Mendo Madness- you can let me know if this seems the same to you. also. check out the smoke report i did on her-i dont know how to put a link to that thread up here, but i would appreciate it if someone could! thanks
anyway Dragor-keep me updated on your progress-pm me or post here in this thread-lookin frwrd to your run. any questions just hit me
I have just recently switched back over to organic. it has been years since ive run all natural, and while things are going a little slower then i am used too, MADNESS is the one plant, more then the other strains we are running, that made me come to this decision. there were other factors of course, but she is so much better organic then hydro(my hydro anyway) i dont think these pics are up on this thread, though they are on another. heres some of the organic buds my bro grew that convinced me:
heres a hydro pic. while not the best, it was handy(the pic that is lol)
