Hey guys,

i am looking for a nice camera as well. I am more interested in video but also in macro photography for cannabis
after looking a bit around i found this:

Canon EOS 650D/Rebel T4i
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canon-eos-650d-rebel-t4i

I saw one with 18-135mm lens for 800$. Its now almost 1 year out so it isnt that pricey anymore, i like the fact i can have the screen outside i think it has a nice potencial for interesting shoots, but what about macro ?

thx in advance

Btw some pictures in this thread are mind blowing :artist:

EDIT:
The Canon EOS M is the company's first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. Based around the same 18MP APS-C sensor as the EOS 650D/T4i, the EOS M is the first model to use a new, smaller 'EF-M' lens mount. As we've seen before in the mirrorless sector, the EOS M is predominantly aimed at the point-and-shoot upgrader market looking for DSLR quality and makes greater use of a 650D-style touch-screen interface.

The Hybrid AF system uses these to quickly set the lens to roughly the correct distance, then uses contrast detection AF to fine-tune focus. In theory, this should provide faster and more certain focusing for live view and video shooting compared to previous Canon models which rely on CDAF alone.

Great shots!

Be sure to use the smallest aperture you can when doing these macro shots, guys. It gives the best depth of field. (You may already know this; just a useful tip.)

Timewreck at 11 weeks outdoors, with a few webs. Breeze made it tough to get a really sharp shot even with tripod and remote release.

Outdoors in the breeze, no flash, canon 100mm f/2.8 macro lens with 32mm extension. Camera on tripod with remote release but no focusing rail or other macro accessories. Not up to the caliber of other pix in this thread but it's the best I have for now. Hats off to the real pros in here.

what would one recommend for casual nonpro macro shooting? my budget is around 1500 so ideally like 5-600 on the camera itself and the rest of the lenses, etc....what is the best megapixel to get? almost clueless on where to start except that i should use 50-100mm lenses.

are any of these decent buys?

how non pro, how casual?

olympus sp550. £50 on ebay.

All shots taken free hand while the hps light was on.
Show me 30 times the quality on something 30 times the price. I've seen 5 times the quality on 100 times the price but that's it so far on here.

These were taken using a dissecting microscope (don't have an awesome macro lens... yet :))

A bud trimmed off a Girl Scout Cookie that is in week 3 of flower.

This thread is inspiring! Time to work on focus stacking.
