Machine abused Nugs...

Why are you against wet trimming sam? Is it because chlorophyll juice gets on the buds or something else. I personally find wet trimming to be a better process but I'm always open to improve .
Not true, there is an option, do it by hand. 200 is no problem.
Using machines is a compromise. What other compromises should larger growers make?
I could list them all, but you know them all.
I am wondering do you smoke mostly machine trimmed herbal Cannabis?
If no why not?
I don't like it because the machines also smush up resin and make it hard to dry sift easily, to me that is a sin...
The worst is trimmed while still fresh and wet. How you do it, wet or dry?
If you just want to crank out LB's for extracts, then it does not matter as much as the midew, or botrytris that often gets used for extracts.
But I want nothing to do with anything but the best of the best.
Is that what you consider your machine trimmed?

quality extracts and flowers will always fetch a fair enough price to continue to be able to produce quality.. its just a phase.. people get into smoking start with garbage. then realize the real quality is were its at . and in the end they usually go back to quality over quantity.

fresh bud machine trimming will get the juice spread all over your buds as well as knocking off the ripest fattest trich heads. but fresh hand trimming is ok, allows for a better trim job then doing it when the buds are dry.

what ever, my point was about the quality loss when doing fresh buds in a trimming machine compared to doing fresh buds by hand. it is also a fact that you can do a more beautiful trim when working fresh buds by hand, then when you are working the trim off dry flowers.

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to bring it up since it's getting close to harvest time again.
I have been farming for over 10yrs. My garden typically yields between 50-80lbs. I have been using a table top trimmer to run branches over quickly (removes just the big stuff), hanging, and hand trimming every year. Occasionally some years I just hang without trimming. Haven't really noticed a difference.
I have always used a small crew (2-3) of older family members, and would have to bring in 1-2 younger people to help keep things moving. I would easily spend over $10k in just trimming.
This year I've decided I'm going to try a dry trim machine. I can rent one for a day, try it out and make a decision. If I find it does a good job and my crew can finish it up quickly then maybe I'll purchase one. I have been reluctant for the past 3-4 yrs that they have been on the market.

I also want to say. This thread is 11 pages and all the "machine trimmed bud is hacks" I've yet to see a side by side comparison, or anything scientific to back it up. Has anyone had hand trimmed bud tested, and machined the same bud and see if it tests different?

I trim wet, if I trim dry I just see piles of trich dust falling off. Even when I pull a dry branch off of a hanger I see a pile of trich dust fall off. supposed if I trimmed over a screen I would not lose shit but I prefer my crystals on the flowers!
