long hair guys

my hair just doesn't seem to want to dread up.
thats okay - i wanted it to dread up originally when i started growing it out (while managing a customer service department)but they never came. Its not because i washed it or brushed it, either. I was really trying hahaha.

but i got nice long tight curls ala troy polumalu & chris kemoeatu so i am okay for not having dreads... rocking the islander 'do past the shoulders (when dry... when wet my hair is down to the middle of my back) proudly.

hope you get your hair/dreads quick, man. I did cut my hair off once (for that damn job... grew it right back though!) and for me waiting for it to grow to where i could pull hair from my crown past my chin took the longest toll on my patience.

Thats weird cuz curly hair like that will normally lock up b4 straight hair would....washing it here and there would be ok and helps as long as it didnt have some chems(lauryl sulfate etc..) in the shampoo. I Dont recommend a comb or brush though lol....It does take some time but for your type of hair it shouldnt take more than a few months to get knotty and dreads forming.

I had long hair. My braided pony tail went past my waist and bounced off my ass like a whip. I didn't have a haircut from 1971 to 2001. Then I had it cut short. I didn't want to but it was a beacon for the cops and asshole rednecks. I didn't mind having to knuckle a few rednecks but the cops became a royal pain. Black men think they get racial profiled. I guarantee a white male with hair past the waste in the small towns around me get some serious hassle time.

I went to watch my nieces softball game one day at a high school field and was smoking a cigarette outside the outfield fence. Next thing I know school security is in my face asking what I was smoking. While they were there the cops (who they called) rolled up on me and got out of the car with guns drawn.

After the one cop searched my body the other cop finally lowered his gun then they ripped my car apart. Still no dope. Then the dog came and went nuts all around me and then made hits on all sides of my car. There was nothing to find so I let them search away. I heard the one cop say "He wasn't a bad guy but he needs a bath. He smells like a skunk." They didn't even know what pot can smell like I get.

Meanwhile my poor niece had to tell all her friends that was her uncle out there.

I cut my hair soon after.

It really depends on the person in my opinion. I don't think I'd get nearly as much interest from women with short dull hair. It's also pretty funny to see people on a cannabis cultivation forum having such strong opinions on "proper" hair length for men.

Can be pretty damn annoying while I'm rock climbing though, no doubting that. I'll probably cut it this summer though.

Only one in the family that never lost his hair. I've got 5 bald ass brothers. I started growing it out about 5 years ago to really rub it in at family reunions. Now I've got the old man curly fright wig going on.

If you manage to keep your hair long enough, you can get away with a pretty crazy look in your doddering age as long as you pair it with a nice tweed suit.

i think the person wearing the hairstyle needs to make the hairstyle work for them. no particular standard is going to make everyone look good. my hair is just before shoulder length and never brushed, girls are not a problem, and what makes it better is that i am attractive to the more open minded kind of girl instead of the prissy uptight ones.
