I also wanna run lots of i95 work. Topdawg has fam95 f2s left so I'm gonna grab them or some other i95 work for my birthday (Feb 2025) as a treat to myself and to thank topdawg (jj, Pete, Mike) again for all their work over the years. I've got three packs from them here left to run (stardawg ix, dirty taxi) and oodles more but I'd love more i95 centric work from them. So let's see what jj has in stock in Feb, lol

Sharing the good and the bad things that go with growing and breeding is definitely the most interesting. Sometimes things don't go as planned and at one point or another everyone will get an issue pop up. Mistakes and failure hold a lot of information, it's only how you decide to deal with it. We're only human after all 😅

That's another beautiful list of Strains, like I said before you have good taste.

(Pre 98) Bubba kush is on my watch list, as is Irene, chem d obviously and the 88g13hp pairings are calling me out too. I could just quote the rest of your list now because you have definitely sparked my interest now.

Please do treat yourself on some more i95 work and share your findings 🙏

Thought this one was a male, but I'm seeing some lady parts. Will double check all onycd 3.0 phenos later.

Hey leet-

Have you considered getting the pests under control before popping more seeds and taking in new cuts?

Growing is a job for sure and pests make it so much harder. They’ve kept me up at night in the past when I had something pop up. It’s exhausting. Make it easier on yourself and keep only what you cannot live without. What you really need is no plants in your space for a few weeks and a really good cleaning. It makes growing so much more enjoyable when you can focus on the plants and not the pests.

I know it’s hard to drop stuff, but sometimes you need to to get the garden under control. It will make your life so much easier in the long run.

Best of luck man.

Yes. If you read my earlier post about ipm, every plant had soil predators and fallacis applied. I'm cutting back to clone while they do their work. I also stopped popping seeds.

The idea is to flower out a supply of medicine so I don't run out (I smoke an eighth a day) and clean my entire place and catch up while the clones fully root and grow in the trays. It is difficult to catch up and clean everything with the large plants that I grew out to outpace pests and neglect until I was able to get them in adequate shape. So they all go in the tents and I clean everything else.

After my hernia repair surgery I was laid up for 6 to 7 weeks and things got really bad. I've been working extremely hard to catch up since.

If you plan to follow along Cru @Jcue81 I'm a bit caught up so it's not a bad time to take photos and show what I mean by working hard and catching up and overcoming the specific issues. Lately I have been putting my life and plants first with the help of my adhd meds (take them consistently and figured out how to work around the side effects, etc) but I like to take time if I can to show whats going on. I appreciate the luck and advice.

So I've probably mentioned the 40x40" tent that is in flower. I have a 240W Viparspectra LED light in there that originally came from Overgrow user DougDawson. It's killer in there and makes the plant go turbo mode, in my opinion. It's also in my bedroom so I don't get too overheated.

Here's a picture of the flower run (day 16 about to end i believe)

And the undercarriage. Still working on it. Gotta get pot risers I think so I don't move em in and out mid or late flower. Not putting a trellis yet. Gotta raise the light tonight I think.

20240925_060623.jpg

So I've been trying to hit the plants with plenty of feed, so not necessarily a complete dryback. My media is hot and needs more flushing than less which I'll cover in a minute. You can see the ipm here. Trying to keep it clean too.

Took astronaut status #24, thats gmoreoz x maitai, and sunset sherbet out to water. Sherb wasn't that dry yet so hopefully I'm not hitting it too often. I know some of these modern cultivars like the frequent feed.

Astronaut status #24, henceforth referred to as as24. I'm late on cleaning up the lower growth, I admit. Here's after.

I can only attach 10 images so I'm explaining the feed in the next post.

So I've been re using my media, promix equivalent, with amendments from previous organic attempts like castings, gaia green power bloom, bone meal, blood meal, and so forth, and excess unflushed salts from my learning efforts. So it runs pretty hot before the plant uses it up or it's flushed out.

@farmerjoe420 sent me salts over a year ago and taught me to use them. He basically just answers any dumbass question I have so it's been a huge help. This is my current ratio at full strength:

.8g Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate, so mag and some micros if it's not pure)
3.5g calcium nitrate 15 0 0 (calcium, nitrogen)
4.0g masterblend bloom 0 12 24 (PK and micros)

Per gallon. Use agsil16h from concentrate as pH up or for silica as needed.

Right now I feed at 60% strength (1.4 EC) across the board because I've figured out that's what's working for me right now. I spent a lot of time with my ec meter that I got start of year, measuring runoff and talking to Joe about how I was making mistakes. Upon his advice I bought a lot of fresh promix to use but I was only able to buy so much. So I was mixing it in with the old media, and now it's only the old media left (half full dirt bin, 13 3 gallon pots to break down)

So in general I water to plenty of excess runoff to make sure the plant is getting the correct pH and nutrient ratios. But the runoff EC can take weeks to go down to what seems like reasonable numbers as the plant uses it up or as it is flushed out.

The reason I explain all this:

20240925_062043.jpg

1.4 EC in to excess runoff. Runoff EC 4.5 EC

Normally this horrifies people. But a) the leds make the plants feed HARD and b) it started at what i would say is 6.0 to 7.5 EC, that range.

So in a week I will likely need to feed 100% strength and see what the runoff numbers and plants tell me.

Enjoy.

Random Goji Margy. Its pissed off. Cleaned it up. 5.2 EC runoff even after all that (see red bowl.) Freshly transplanted so mainly needs light, and need to clone and train it properly.

Catching up consisted of about 100 transplants or more in a row, breaking down all the used media for that, sanitizing each pot, making enough feed to saturate and flush (one gallon smart pot with really dry plant and media can take over a gallon of feed), and trying to figure out how to get in the right sort of exercise for my hernia repair surgery recovery (the area gets sore), my knees, and my back. Turns out a hour walk a day (can be several short walks) does the trick. Also just cleaning all the damn mess from when I was immobile 90% of the time or too got dang depressed. I have solid goals and plans now so I'm doing much better with what I would call my routines.

So now that's mainly done, the plan is to fill the 3 trays I sanitized, and one new, it's the rigid type that you can get height extenders for, I don't have any yet, for 4 trays total of clones. While and after doing that, spend the time on the plants and make sure they're healthy and/or ready to flower out. Like this one really need that lower growth removed.

I should mention pests really love foliage that's less lit, less healthy, overlapping, and love to jump from plant to plant where there's overlapping foliage. You already know this Cru I bet but readers might not. I definitely spent a lot of time removing all of that too. While I was laid up a ton of these plants were either in clear tiny cocktail cups, 4 inch pots, or a clone tray for months. So you can see why it took so long to make it this far.

Might post some pics of my Pringle can fun project grow later. I'm really enjoying fucking around with it because it's not one of the plants I desperately need to keep alive and clone off 😂

My reinforced cardboard pringle can grow. Slow feeding and led spectrum exposure was causing a lot of algae buildup, I cleaned it out and wiped down the can again. Used a q tip to unclog the drainage holes. Read that excess algae can cause issues. You can see a spot where the top layer came off and the masking tape is soaked. I used Sally Hansen nail polish on that. I like this can so I'll try and make sure it lasts a while. Got some ice cream buckets to use for whatever for free, sanitized one to use for mixing and holding feed for Pringles (my sister gave her this nickname, to remind her of her roots.) Has a lid which the previous bucket did not, to reduce or avoid algae buildup. I make a gallon at a time usually.

20240925_111044.jpg

Seemed to work okay to hold that spot in place. It was flaking away and such beforehand so let's see how this works as a repair. Standing in water (bottom feed) isn't good for cardboard, lol, but this can actually has a lot of protective layers.

I keep topping and training her because I want to push the envelope on this fun challenge. Let's see if she can handle it.

Fed her 100% strength with 5ml of agsil16h concentrate. 5.8 pH. Had to calibrate my pH meter, it was drifting again. Gotta calibrate it about every 2 to 3 weeks. Reads 2.15 EC in, let's see how she drinks and how high that EC goes.

Got lots to do today, bouncing back from doing all that work previously. So here's a quick few photos, maybe an update later.

20240926_110120.jpg

Double Burnout #2 beside a revegging Sour Apple Jaxx. 1.4 ec in, 3.5 ec out. Not bad, had just topped her up. Gotta clone and cut her back, she's definitely getting flowered out!!!

Here's a pic of it from Aug 3 when i was catching up. I only topped up that pot last week or so. So I find it pretty awesome and robust so far. Let's see how she smokes though, that's the ultimate test.

20240803_124436.jpg

Gotta replace the label, someone on Overgrow (which I left due to poor moderation) mentioned that painters tape works really well and I agree, it seems to stick and come off much better. Green is what I've used so far.

The sour apple jaxx, not sure if I explained this, but it's sour apple x apple jaxx, so I just call it sour apple jaxx. Apple jaxx is (sour apple ibl x fpog) by Alien. Seeds came from my buddy PNWStrainHunter and he got them from Incessant Seeds on strainly who has since then fallen off the map.

I had also popped triangle knockout x puck yeah from them but those self culled because they were even worse at growing and vegging than the sour apple jaxx, and that's saying something. I read that the sour apple smoke is amazing so let's see if these short slow stout plants are worth the ride.

Another quick update. Will try and get pictures of the individual plants but main thing is irene kush on the left (needs cloning and upkeep, transplanted not too long ago.)

Fed 1.4 EC in and initial runoff was 5.2 EC. As this is a newly transplanted plant still growing root tips etc it's not that concerning. But as some might know Irene is on the finicky / needy side and I didn't want to risk lockout again. So I fed hard, a bit more than a liter, and then checked again. 3.5 EC, which is much more to my liking.

Continuing to catch up on watering and upkeep, then going to try and take some clones. I've got 4 trays to fill and root after all before I can flip. Need to keep the plants healthy and well fed too without burning myself out so just trying to take a reasonable pace and focus on what needs care.

76 bubba, (actually bubba 76, but the person who passed it to me got it wrong, should really fix it.) 5.2 ec runoff at first, lowered to 4.5, it isn't that needy and is pretty big. Gonna clone, not sure how to train. Not yet flowered out, died in flower when I was laid up.

20240926_144456.jpg

Matt berger cut of bubba kush on left, "chem 91" on the right that seems to be giesel. Swapped out the label for one that says "Giesel?"

Matt berger runoff ec 3.5, is alright. Need to monitor with reduced lighting in mother/veg area.

Giesel? Runoff 5.2 EC like 76 bubba. She's a finicky viny lady so I feeded hard to flush that out to 3.0 EC. Giesel is a beast but she burns up easy.

20240926_163228.jpg

Cleaned up Matt berger. It's my current mother with no backup (yet) with the other set for flower. Can't spend as much time as I'd like with each plant especially with my back and knees but it's getting better, both physically and the overall situation.

20240926_163507.jpg

One of my worst looking plants, because it didn't get any love and I didn't really care about it. She is Pringles's sister but her cultivar is Enke's Realm so I decided to call her Enkes II, cause she's a princess. Topped off the media in there after this picture.

20240926_163624.jpg

Spent some time making feed. Since I'm doing a bit better, i was able to mix 3 buckets, about 4.5 gal feed each, and fill a 4th. I go through a lot of feed with all these gallon plus containers, especially the fabric smart pots. So now I'm watering and taking care of my plants, and gonna try and take a tray of clones later. Just felt like documenting some of my process for fun.

Pictured is Limed Orange, Enkes II, at front. Double burnout, HP13 (needs upkeep) at back. Like I said not every plant gets the time they deserve as I catch up and prioritize. I know one of my HP13 plants is gonna go in my small tent at end of week 11, along with the Dawgsbreath plants and HiRo4, chem d, underdog. Need to clone underdog though, for that. Plan is to f2 and outcross the dawgsbreath which is TN hogs breath x (alien kush f2 x stardawg bx). Not sure if I mentioned that already.

Limed Orange had good runoff at 2.8 EC

Better pictures of limed orange mother (DannyTerpentine's selection of black lime bubba x mac stomper) and HP13. Decided to save some time and took a lot of annoying growth off the limed orange mother. It's an annoying mother to keep in veg, it has that starfighter trait where it'll start flowering if rootbound or abused. Cleaned up hp13 too but that was much easier. Not fully verified, but seems right to me. Tastes like umami snail soup to me, but it's a really complex flavor so that's an oversimplification.

20240926_180932.jpg

In front, dawgsbreath "runt" I've been abusing, strawberry cough mom
In back, Dragon Hammer by doc d, thats nobody's nurserys selection (dragonsoul 55 x afpak), and a stardawg bx I cut back hard because while I really like it, I don't have much if barely any room left to add plants or soil volume to the flower run. Plus I'm leaning male on that one, haven't really seen any solid signs yet.

Runoff ec 2.25 on dragon hammer, 2.5 on stardawg bx.

Dragon Hammer. It's in better health than before, not cleaning up today.

Two phenos of Highway Robbery (i95 x chimera 3) by Trichome Orchards side by side. #6 stretches more and has more of a cookie kush profile. #4 is my favorite but does not stretch at all and requires more maintenance. Both ec runoff at around 3. Both not getting cut back today, got other things to catch up on first.

Some beautiful diversity! Anymore information on the hp13? I'm already looking forward to see you run a breeding project, my favorite 😍

Top dawg seems to have the most info about it around. Burmese mother. Mine traces back to a winner of one of the stoney auctions. So it traces back to the stoney circle in NY. But like the following cut, there's a lot of fakes. Flowering it out in the 40x40" so I'll take more pictures when I get a chance.

20240927_115213.jpg

One of two Chem D plants I have. This one is more angry, lol. Gave her a quick cleanup and feed, came out about 5.1 EC, flushed to 2.75 EC. She's the one going in with the dawgsbreath if possible. She really doesn't like the feed being off or too hot, she will burn the fuck up. Giesel too (shouldn't surprise me, chem d is her momma.)

Some plants are finally getting the love they need. Those transplants were my main focus for a while.

Checked the 40x40" before lights off, looks like one gmo needs watering at lights on. It has hovered around room temperature in here so it's not surprising that they're taking their time to dry back. They look great though.

Gonna just keep trucking with watering and plant upkeep, take some clones.
