That Auto Afghani cut should be here today or Saturday and if that is a good smoke that is going to take the place of LR for me and effectively move me away from Autoflowers.

S_a_H

Auto Afghani sounds like a winner! but wait...is it auto or not? Regardless I"m interested.

Its very interesting what you said about the blue phenos being shorter. I think they leaf color may be related somehow to the plants ability to metabolize photosynthesis efficiently.
The width of the leaves may also have a part in the plants ability to metabolize continuous or near continuous light. Ive read about a tree which metabolized continuous light very efficiently into starch, it produced a massive trunk and reached great height. Ill find that article for you.

As far as the plants structure is concerned, side branching and such. I think the angle and penetration of light should affect the plants structure. The more vertical the light source, the more side branching should occur, if the penetration ability of the light is low, it makes sence to me that there should occur some stretching among the side branches. If the light should come from a lower angle at either side, the plant should take a more pole-like structure.

"Blue" phenos refer to the blueberry phenotype, as in scent, not colour, i "think".

I have noticed that when my plants are closely surrounded by reflectors, with lights pretty close and literally every mm of the plant is covered with bright light, they tend to branch like crazy.

Btw, that slow branchy s60 is going to become a monster when it buds up :D
Sour 60 really looks kick ass so far.

I don't know what to do with my sour 60 yet... I want to breed with it though. Wish we could fast forward these journals to identify all the traits and phenos. I can't wait for the smoke report! :joint:

From what I was told it needs to be 22 or more hrs to stay in veg. So what I plan on doing is vegging her for a couple weeks and then i'll lower the light to 21 hrs for a week and so on and so on until it starts to flower. So we know for sure what it is.

I have big plans for this if she is nice. I am going to check my box today to see if some seeds I was promised are here and i'll get more into what the project is later.

Once its flowered and smoked i'll see what MD thinks and maybe put it up for the second version of BlueStreak. I have a pack of real DJ BlueMoonShine and DJ BlueBerry. Plus I have 50 pack of Purcevilles F13 seeds for possible crosses.

Hmmm, that sounds quite nice, and was something I was considering too. That affie is gonna be a lot of fun to play with for the next few years.

Thinking I might find something with similar flowering tendancies possibly in the Biddy's sister or the danish gold, in case I cannot get my hands on some of the affie....

Oh, and for those that say that these lights cannot produce bud, these bluestreaks were grown their entire lives under these lights, and turned out quite nice I must say.

Yields of 24 grams of excelent bud as shown along with 40 seeds, and 22 grams for the colorful girl, and 400 + seeds, in 56 days from seed. I am well into my second grow with a 126 and 63 from LED girl, and I have nothing but praise for the lights. The only negative that I see is the limited footprint for significant investment....that said I think it will be a wash when you consider energy savings and elimination of bulb replacement.

Sorry to clutter your thread SaH, and your girls are looking fantastic...mine are about to sex, and look smashing. The resin production on yours at sucha young age....wow. These are gonna be killler.

is it the same auto afgan that was used in the geurilla gold strain ?

The genetic background of Guerilla Gold is:
Early Gold x (Afghan x Mighty Mite) F5
Early Gold is Kona Gold (an outdoor hawaiian sativa) x Himalayan.
I believe the Mighty Mite it what causes it to be semi-auto or light sensitive.
Thanks for the LED Sour 60 grow.

The cut I am getting is a female clone only so I was told.

I have been trying to get a hold of the guy but I think he is on the road plus its the holidays and I don't want to keep asking about it and piss him off.

Hey SaH, how old are they now? They seem to like the food,, very nice long top bud there bro. Personally I dont like the branching structure for indoors, outside they would shine!

What do you think of the TEA so far???

And just my 2 cents on the LEDs, YOU CAN GROW GOOD CANNABIS WITH LEDS!! My friend has also been doing a test on them using the 400watt HPS equal LEDs, and the same starin of clones he has been using for yrs. One result remains, LEDs DO NOT PENATRATE! Ya bash me for the claim but they DON'T penatrate the canopy aswell as HID lights. Yes you can grow shorter plants usind LEDs and get good results, I want to see what the future brings from LEDs but like AFs they are new TECH just starting to get excellent results and reviews. And the LED that is 400watt HPS equal, this is just not so, you can't just switch out your HPS hood and replace it with your LED 400watt HPS equal and get the same results. The PAR watts may be equal but, the Coverage is not equal, nor is the Penatration. Looking forward to seeing the future of LEDs, Great GROW SaH!!

I think the branching may be affected by the lack of penetration that you've stated crickets?
It'll be interesting to see other people growing it out under CFL, HPS & CMH to compare.

They are just closing in on 40 days now...if I could have counted better in that earlier post they wouldn't have seem so small yet.

I already knew the light would not get in as far as a HID light thats why I was thinking the lights would do better with auto's.

Yeah I like the tea...I have learned to go easy when using it on a new strain and to strain it and remove the extra particles in it.

My next run is going to be in coco and I am going to use the LED lights for the first month and then switch over to a 600w and only grow 4 females and give the major LST treatment.

from the looks of your girl at day 40 i think calling it sour sixty is just a advertizing thing. nothing buds in 20 days, which is why most lowryder /diseal/aks dont finish in 60 days either as they start to preflower at day 20ish and need roughly 50 days to pack it on., sour 75-80 perhaps?
