Laser eavesdropping?

I heard from a reliable/believable source the other day that the feds have a laser device that they can point on an exterior wall and listen to anything going on in the building. I'm not a techno geek type, just wondering if this possible even in these days and times?

I don't know either man, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised. It would be a total invasion of privacy though (without a valid reason).

Lasers are usually used on window glass, not walls. Walls are porous and variably dense, they don't propagate vibration well. Glass, though, resonates well, and those subtle changes can be picked up by a laser device aimed at the glass.

No shit, thats what I heard, that just the nano second differences in wavelength they can compute and digitize voice or any other sound into usable intelligence.

True or Not it isn't LEGAL!!!

If you can prove they used it to get info on you, the charges would have to be dropped!

Ya, it is sick what they can do now, good thing local PD's can't afford all that shit or everyone would be fuct...course if we were to stand up and demand the Constitutional Republic be fully restored, that would cancel it out anyway...if they used it for legitimate purposes I could care less but busting people for pot should be a felony in itself...

Fortunately, government agencies are like spoiled kids, and REALLY hate sharing their toys.

"Hi, I'm Officer Hick from Podunk PD, can I borrow your guy's Fifty Thousand dollar laser eavesdropper?" goes over so well at the local Feeb Hive. :biglaugh:
