Congrats on harvest kyg! Been busy and trying to catch up on sleep. I'll be back around later. See you wish you would have cropped earlier, and I was kind of kicking myself for not letting them go longer. I don't like seeing mold. It makes it hard to smoke... :smoke:

hey pipe thanks bro! i been very busy as well opening and closing jars and trimming. i know what u mean i hate seeing mold. when i see it i go st8 into panic mode lol. im pretty sure the cause of my mold this year was those fkn snails and maybe some Cats. i will be prepaired for those mfers next year for sure. im gonna be buying some converse sc and BT spray and use that for first 3 weeks of flower and hopefully that will keep the cats away and the snails will be getting some healthy dose's of Sluggo. im already looking forward to next spring lol

Hey guys got the dry weight on the delas this year. I had 4 make it to harvest. Dela#1 had 313,dela#2 378,dela #3 429 and dela#4 my biggest one 501 grams, the delas have very dense buds(highly recommended). I'm pretty happy with the dry yeild this year. I lost I'd say a pound or more to mold from fkn snails and caterpillars. I will be prepared for those Mkers next year. All I have left hanging to dry now is 1 church and the organic jacky. Which I should be able to start cutting them up either tomorrow or Wednesday. Good soil, nutrients and TLC paid off big time this year for me. I won't ever use miracle grow soil again. The plants this year was twice as big as all the years before. I'm gonna put back about 800-1000$ to reinvest in genetics, soil and nutrients for next year. I'm also gonna try my hand at doing 2 plants in 25 or 30 gallon geo-pots. I think I will also dig my holes a lot wider next year to. I want to make a couple holes that is at least 50-75 gallon, instead of the 14-15 gallon holes that I've had to see how much bigger the lady's will get. Thanks everyone for following thur this journal with me. It's been a cracking year! Looking forward to doing it even bigger next year lol here's the delas in the jars.

thanks kyg , helluva good read and would be so good now to get it all off and relax a bit ...i notice that you and others on this site have a lot of problems with fungal ..
in all the near 40 years of growing i've really never had a problem , excepting at harvest if we get a large rainfall event and the dreaded mould takes hold but NEVER during the year ..
in fact haven't even seen it ...
a lot to do with our super hot and dry climate ....
but good job and you've got me wound up with the delahaze now , good thing i never chucked mine ...lol

oh yea man thank the ganja gods u didnt chuck it! just wait u will see how well she will do u. i wish i had a dry climate! my climate in the south east usa is hot, humid as fuck and then unpredictable rains can come anytime..just last week we went from being in a major drought to flooding now lol the main issue i have here though is the humidity and early morning dews. during my plants full flower the humidity is always in the 90-100% range. looking forward to seeing how ur plants do. im sure u will kill it this year with the genetics that u are running

U ever thought about getting a soil test on your native soil? How dense is the soil u usually plant in? Can u drive a post into the ground with your hands fairly easily?

hell no! i bring my soil in when i find a spot. the thing with guerilla growing is u never know when u gotta give that spot up due to security. my organic spot didnt get discovered this year so im gonna be taking in a bunch of coast of maine products to re-amend that soil with and instead of having 4 plants there next year im gonna take the soil from the other 3 holes and dig bigger holes and only put 2 plants there. did u check out that S6? i bet it will be a good strain for u. 2heads told me he didnt germ his seeds till june1 set them out on june 18 and harvested sept 12 and 1 plant brought him over 10oz so its defo got potential. im hoping it will be a sept 1 totally finished product for me like the Heribei was excpet the heribei was very small yeild.

Cool, nice yield this year! Congrats! Whats a geo pot? Digging big holes will get you more yield everytime... I dug out the entire plot and my plants did great. I like how you describe our climate. Its tough sometimes but cannabis loves it here! :smoke:

the geo pot is just another fabric pot with handles suppose to be good for quite a few years outdoors. ive never grown in a pot before so i wanted to see how it works out. i know i will have to water more but thats ok bc i have been using a great spot on my uncles land since 2007 and its only 10 min drive from my house,so it wont look odd bc im always up there anyways. i think the most my holes has been on the small side for the last few years after reading a bunch of threads so gotta test it out my self. my goal next year is to do only 20 photo plants but up the size my holes to a min of 30-40 gallon, instead of doing 30-335 plants with 10-15 gallon holes. i found a post by moondawg that grows here in our climate and he said he doubled his yeild this way and with less plants. sounds like a win/win for me so cant hurt to try it. now the only hard choice i have to what strains to run LOL. im also gonna try my luck with 3 autos that i got with my order from "seeds.man" i got 1 fatsoma express,1 S.O.D.K from mephisto genetics and 1 pandora from paradise. right now my list is this but im sure it will change lol delahaze, blue widow, bangi haze, trainwreck, blueberry headband, incredible bulk, cheese candy,kc-33,ledo uno, belladonna. im gonna do 2 serious as well since i have the seeds and seeing how early 2heads S6 was with 10oz average per plant and totally finished by sept12th i gotta try them again.

Sounds like a badass strain lineup... Looking forward to seeing how they perform! Hey spring is a long time a way. Don't do less plants! Shit happens out in the wild. Some will be male if you don't sex before hand. I would start digging now and just do the number you always do. Plenty of time for tillage, farmers are working ground all over right now. Don't let the cultivation work hold you back. i would go for at least 40, giving 20 females, and giving some room for error... The work continues on once jarred, they still need to be opened and burped, sniffed, and inspected for mold... Less hiking involved in this one... :smoke:

That s6 looks niiice. Your right, I'm gonna have to check that out.

I've been having good results growing organically in local native soil. The most important thing is ag lime because it increases the ph. The native soil pH around here is in the 5's. Some of it is already full of minerals, microbes, and ferts. I just till it up a bit, lime it, add an organic all purpose blend, water and its as good as bagged soil IMO.

So far there's no bud rot or pm on the cheese candy. Its got 2 more weeks to go. It seems to put up with a lot. It doesn't have huge buds but they are dank looking :)

ya bro the S6 will be a great strain for u esp since u can give it sun all day i bet it would be capable of 15-16 oz per plant...damn that is one frosty mfer! it will be drenched in 2 more weeks! feed it some insect frass and it will triple the trich output on it.does it smell skunky as hell? the local soil here has been mined to death from coal companys so i never did use but i may try a couple holes like u did. the thing with my soil here is heavy blueish/yellowish clay so i always thought it would be shitty. i may do half/half and see what happens. i do like the thought of local mycros and beneficial bacteria that is suited to my area though

I'll start looking for some of your recommended strains at the clubs. Which are the ones do u recommend I try?

Blue clay is the best. What u should consider doing is get a soil test done. Only like 40 bucks. I use a&l western in Oregon/cali because I like the graphical analysis they provide. The lab will tell u exactly how to make your native soil premium for herb. Tell them ur growing tomatoes for your crop if u don't wanna say weed. U will be stoked to not have to carry soil around anymore. If ur site soil can be worked it pays off big time :)

most i can handle is 20 maybe 25. if i make it to harvest with only 10 then that is enuff to last me all year plus make a little side money to re-up my genetics and supplies. i try to take care of every one i have out which is the reason i dont do alot more. im gonna be starting to dig at the end of this month on some new spots for next year. i will still be using my 3 best plots that i have been at for years but it will be alot harder next year for me bc im gonna only be planting 2 plants instead of the 3-4 that i usally do. im also gonna be doing about 70% of my plants at single plots just in case something happens like it did this year and im sure something will happen bc it always does outdoors guerilla style. i only use Fem seeds so i dont have to do alot more. i can focus all my attention on the ladys from start to finish and not have to carry extra water, soil and nutes to plant that i will just destroy. im no breeder so it only makes sense for me to use Fem seeds. oh ya i know all about the opening and closeing lol i check my buds ever few hours when i first put them in the jars to make sure no mold gets to set up. ive put them in to early before and lost a jar or 2 so that little spore just contiunes to torment us even after the plant is chopped lol my ole lady calls me inspector gadget bc im always over them with the loupe looking for mold HAHA

sweet thanks brother! i will for sure send in a soil test and see whats up. super lemon haze and delahaze are my fav for the sativa/haze. im not to big on indicas except for skunk/cheese strains bc i grew up in the early 90s with some the most skunky funk i have ever smoked or smelled and i have yet to find anything that i can grow guerilla that dont rot. i havent tried cheese candy yet but it will be on my list in 2016 for sure.

Good morning to ya! Inspector gadget, sounds like something he'd do... He'd have all his shovels, pruners, magnifiers, water, fertilizer, seeds, clones, pocket knife, rope, jars, pipe, bong, lighter, boombox, lawn chair, beer, headlights. He'd have all that stuff. Makes it easier and less work doing feminized seed. So those work pretty well I guess. Pretty reliable? Since I don't sell, I like having some seed in there. I give it way to everybody... Yeah, if you can give good care to your plants, they will reward you.. Only so much time during the season... I tend to push it plants are all in one spot easy to take care of, and shade reduces plant yield. Oct. 8th beautiful time of the year. Jarring today.. :smoke:

HAHAHA!!! that was a great read and visual to go with it:laughing: ya bro it is alot easier to have all in 1 spot but i did that in 2009 and got ripped and i said that will never happen again to me. so i just scatter mine all over and make it hard for anyone that does take their worthless ass out looking. i have had great results so far with Fem seeds..all have been female and no hermies from any breeders i have ran so far*knock on wood* u have any ideal what u gonna be running next year?

Hey guys! It's been a beautiful week of weather here. My dads critical jack is still out doing well. I figured I miss well add it into this journal in case anyone is interested in doing it. It's had awesome mold resistance. I Fim it in early veg for him so it's now growing 4 massive top colas. We looked at the trichs today they are about 50/50 clear/milky. The buds are starting to pack on thick. It's been one the longer flowering strains we have run since we switched to fem seeds in 2012. It's at week 6 of flower so I figure another 15-16 days before she will be ready. Anyways here's the pics of dinafem critical jack.

How rocky is your soil? rocks and sand aren't very good for growing. A little sand can be good for drainage though. I bet you can use it. May not dry out as bad too! Hope you are able to find plenty of sunny spots for next year. A plant in good sun will grow as much as 5 in the shade.

I went out to bring the buds in off the line, and it started sprinkling right as I was finishing up. Been good curing weather. Dry with fog or light rain every few days. Going through a lot of rehydration cycles, making a more complete cure, from what I understand. Smoke has been good. Enjoying harvest over here! :smoke:

Critical Jack is doing great. I noticed the forecast is great now for ripening, minus some light rain tonight. You will always wonder if you could have got away with pruning out mold for a couple more weeks and got more weight and ripeness...

No plans yet for next year, just selecting my best seed from the crop... Will spend the next couple months looking over things, and I'll probably get something else going in there, I'm thinking. :smoke:
