Good idea getting the products on before flower. Still have to watch the weather, but that will give you an edge when the rain comes. I had a near 90% crop loss 2013 due to mold. Picked too late. Tried to dry outside. Hope the weather cooperates this year!

ive never tried to dry outdoors. i bet that can be really tricky. im going this evening to give my plants their last spray of Sns244c. i will be giving insect frass, aloe and regalia drenches.. i hope that i have did enuff pre infection that my ladys will be able to coast on through. once they hit week 5 of flower i will do a light mist of the buds with bud factor x on one day and actinovate on others early in the morning so the plants will have time to dry off fast. i will only do this treatment for 2 weeks then the last 2 hoping they will be ok. everthing i have out should be totally done flowering by oct 7th,but hopefully before that. things are about to get interesting pipeline, its gonna be a wild ride this year :woohoo: thanks for stopping in brother!!

I went to spray sns-244,bud factor x and regalia at plot 5 and drench 1 aspirin per gallon per plant, regalia, frass and B-52..plot 5 is banging folks! I'm really amazed at how monstrous this church is gonna be. If those buds fill in like I think they will then this will be my biggest yeild ever! I never thought that I could find another strain that would yeild higher then my beloved delahaze. I never tipped her or nothing just let it do its thing. The little small church that I topped and FIM is gonna have quite a few top colas on it which makes me happy since I have never did nothing other then just topped 1 time and let them grow. The dela's are starting to throw nice flowers now and she's right on track for a first of oct finish as always. I love paradise seeds! There is hardly any variation from my dela's this year and all the years before so the dela is super stable. The other new comer from paradise is the sweet purple! And I'm really liking it as well. It was the plant I dug up and transplanted and it's not even stopped growing. It's like I didn't even move it! Fucking Amazing it didn't even get stunted. It's gonna have a shit load on it as well. Pics 1-2 is the big church and little church. Pic 3-4 is the dela's and pic 5 is the sweet purple.

Lookin' good!

How tall is that monster Church?

closing in on 12 foot! i had to take a 2 step ladder with me today so i could get that spray into the top cola really well since it will be the last time i spray it with fungicide. i been reading grow journals on another fourm and a guy swears by the Trainwreck from Ghs in terms of mold resistance and it was never even affected with the dreaded leaf spot all 3 years hes grown it. the pics look of the highest quality of it so i just ordered 5 ghs Tw and 3 Dinafem blue widow which will 2 new strains i will be running next year. its took me 3 days to read 3 years worth of his journal lol how is everthing looking your way bro? we got great weather coming for the next 7 days. no rain all sunny days with low humidity temps in the morning around 60-62 and high of 75! thats awesome bc the purple maroc and heriebi is in full flower right now and will be done by 1st week in sept so i shouldnt have to worry about no bud rot with those! wooot!

Hey guys i found a old post on here from a old guerilla grower that has been growing since the early 70s named Ickis and it was very interesting what he had to say about the flowering times for lat 41,so all the credit goes to him for this info below.

Outside plants start to notice that darkness is getting longer. They get triggered into flowering gradually with a transition phase. It is not like going to 12/12 inside and you know exactly when it starts. Some plants take longer to respond to the increase in dark because they need the dark period to be longer until they respond. Some sativas especially are hard to trigger to flower. So they can take longer than the basic formula I am going to give you. Some indicas trigger easily. As soon as the night grows longer they respond and could finish earlier than what I will tell you.

When growing outside it takes a few years of trial and error to find the strains that work good in your area. Once you find them you keep using them so you know you will have some finished buds. But each year you should add a new starin or two just to find others. This way all your eggs are not in one basket. You have the old reliables and some new stuff to try.

Here is the basic blueprint for 40 N. June 20-23 is when the longest day of the year occurs. 15 hours and 9 minutes of daylight. The plants you have outside are vegging like mad up until those days. Then after that each day the night grows loner and the days shorter. A minute or 2 or more per day. Until on Aug 1st there are 14 hours and 21 minutes of daylight. The night is now 48 minutes longer than on June 22. Many plants will have triggered by now. You will notice pistils forming August 10-15. This is like after 2 weeks inside at 112/12.

So I figure August 1 as the first day of flowering like inside going to 12/12. So it works out like this.

August 14 = 2 weeks

August 28 = 4 weeks

Sept 11 = 6 weeks

Sept 25 = 8 weeks

Oct 2 = 9 weeks

Oct 9 = 10 weeks

Oct 16 = 11 weeks

Oct 23 = 12 weeks

Oct 30 = 13 weeks

Nov 6 = 14 weeks

I never count on anything past Oct 23 because of a killing frost. However I have had years where a killing frost does not come until Nov 10 or a bit later.

Make sure you get 8-11 week strains if you are really counting on them. In fact to guarantee a harvest keep it to 8-10 weeks. But you can go as high as 12-13 weeks and maybe play with a 14 week strain but not count on it.

Thats right-on accurate. I'm at 40 N. Pretty basic and easy to remember flowering schedule. Yeah I forgot this is good finishing weather for those early varieties! Should get good and dense with all that sun. Hope the rest of the fall is like that. Can't wait to see how the church does. :smoke:

ya its correct for me as well at 37.5 n i usally see flowers by aug 1 on anything i have growing. i had quite a few this year that started on july 20-25th. my 5 strains from here on out i will be running is delahaze, jacky white, church, blue widow and biddy as my insurance strains. i will test out 1 or 2 newbies each year and only run 1 plant and see if they will surpass the previous 5 i have. i always wanted just 5 reliable strains that would yeild good,be potent and have mold resistance. if they dont have none of the big 3 of my criteria they wont make the cut

Great find, Ky. At your lat, you should be one or two weeks ahead of that schedule, though. I've grown at around 41 before and that's dead on for that latitude.

Can any northern (45+N) growers comment on when flowering usually starts? Daylength doesn't reach ~14.3 hours until well into August. Do plants sense the lessening daylength and start flowering with closer to 15 hours of daylength?

above 45 N

Very early strains (early sativas or semi autoflowering strains/hybrids) starts at mid to late July. a few normal "early" strains at early August. most of the indica dominant (and 50/50 sat/ind) strains starts mid to late August! and the sativa dom hybrids (60/40 and up to 60% sativas) from early to Mid Sept!

That's about right. Mickey kush is an anamoly. 75% sativa but started flowering on august 9th for me. I'm at 45 lat.

find genuine early strains is always a pleasure!

Cream Caramel also started surprisingly early at August 5.

Kraken from Buddha also around that time on 46 N.

i went out this morning at 6am to water and spray my single plot plants,plot5 and organic plot down with Sns 244c,bud factor x and regalia. i also watered in some B-52, insect frass, Salicylic Acid, and regalia. i found 2 more fkn snails on my plants at the organic plot im not sure how they are getting on there since i have copper tape around the base of the plants and nothing else touching. im gonna use some sevin dust on the surronding bushes and im also gonna pour a circle around my plants. the heribei will be ready to be pulled in about 10-14 days according to the trichs. they are 50% milky and 50% clear. i dont wait for amber trichs on any of my plants..the biddy, sweet purple and delahaze that i transplanted are back on track and i could see more buds swelling up so they didnt get stunted to bad considering what i put them thur..the small church at plot5 is starting to pack on the buds now faster then the big church and the little baby is gonna yeild well.. i didnt take no pics of nothing bc it was to dark. i got a ripper in the mist so im changing my schedule of going late in the evening and starting to go early in the morning,so pics will only be updated about ever 10-14 days now

its the fastest i have ever had a strain come in before. i thought the purple maroc was fast but damn this heribei is even faster. most my other strains like u are at least 5 weeks away as well. the thing about the heribei i have noticed is that once it starts to flower they form rapidly and coming from s.a.n.n.i.e i know it will be quality smoke. it basically has zero stretch after it starts to flower as well so would make a good indoor strain for guys that have height and small issues. thanks oakhill hoping i can get these last strains in the barn but u just never know what can happen.
