Love seeing examples of healthy plant under the 400w Retro. Still is a great lamp albeit, nearly unavailable.

Sorry no about the bud shots this time around.
I flowered very early on to make seeds and they
didn't make huge buds.

I think the only way to get huge buds on any sativa is to
leave them unpollinated. Since it takes so long for them to
build up.

If you've ever pollinated a plant you know things slow
down a lot once the plant gets pollinated. It must be
a hormonal thing.

Next time, I'll most likely leave some pollen-free plants build up.

Cheers

For sure true. Once the plant starts making seeds, all the energy pretty much goes to that. One can also selectively pollinate certain branches instead of the whole plant...to get one branch with seeds while seedless on the rest. Best of both worlds.

I still have to harvest another female Kerala to add to my seed crop and these are now chilling in my fridge now.

I could look at those tiger stripes all day long.

If all these seeds were grown in one place at one time I could cover an acre with plants. :woohoo:

A close friend gave me 5 seeds he got from BANGALORE. I grew them, all 5 germinated (the seeds looks alot like those in this pic). One was very weak and didn't make it. I selected one strong female and the male identical to it. It was fertilized, but i planted too early and spring caught it and it grew and grew, then died...IDK if they are fertile, bu the female still produced hard, dark seeds. I will try to germinate some in a week or so....I'll post pics of the plants. Bangalore is very near to Kerala, and it is the same kinda bamboo leaf looking Sativa, so I assume its something close....hope I didn't lose it

I took a branch off it for early sampling. LOLZ

I'm not sure how much longer she'll go as I still see lots of white pistils.

I switched all of my lighting yesterday at 5 Pm as I finally received the Ace Ballast 600 watt that I ordered about 10 days ago.

I'll be able to run both MH and HPS with this ballast. :woohoo:

During my initial test 4 hours of yesterday I had it on 100% power. Seeing how bright it is I figured I would put
it on 75% power for a couple of day to let these plants get adjusted. I didn't get a HPS bulb like most people
use for flowering. I prefer keeping Sativas under the blueish MH light spectrum over the HPS spectrum.

Found this post via Yesum's Jarilla-thread

Nice bulb for sure.
I have a 4500K (?) 250w Phillips MH, but haven't tried it out yet. Think i'm gonna save it for an OT Haze grow or something similar. I also have Osram (Plantastar-like) HPS bulbs that aren't as red as HPS usually is ..little bit more blue-spectrum in it.

But about the dimmable ballast and MH bulbs, when i was looking for a dim-250 watter for myself. i read they usually don't recomend dimming or over-driving (super-lumens)MH bulbs, cause they (atleast some MHs) apparently can explode ..or something, and so it's better to run MHs only with 100%-setting (not dimming, no super-lumens settings).

Nice Keralas btw.:)

I figured I should post this here.

Notice the Daylength that there is on a yearly basis in Kerala.

It ranges from 11.6 to 12.6 and this is why I say 18 hours of daylight is not necessary
to grow pure Sativas and nor is it natural for them to be exposed to it.

15 hours is the maximum I've exposed Sativas and this was only when I cloned them.
14 hours is probably plenty for this as well.

I prefer 14 hours maximum for vegging Sativas.

So for people who wonder why they get hermie plants with 18+ hours.

Maybe you should follow your plants natural photoperiod. :tiphat:

How did she smoke?

Let's put it this way. I had some Kerala I grew this Summer with some medical cannabis at the same time called
CBD Haze and Super Lemon Skunk. I also had some Northern Lights X Oldtimer Haze, my own hybrid, I like that a
lot also and crossed a Kerala to it. Now I have lots of seeds of those. What to do with them all?

Anyways, I only started smoking the Super Lemon Haze and CBD Haze after I ran out of Kerala.

The CBD Haze really sucks. I will never buy that again. CBD is not for me as I'm a THC type of person.

The 1st time got to smoke seedless Kerala. I rolled 3 large joints and chain smoked
them to get as much THC in my bloodstream before my brain could react.

Don't try this with any other drugs you could die.

Anyways, when it finally hit me it felt like my head was in a vise and I was sweating like
madman for a good while thereafter. The last time I had that feeling is when I ate a
handful of Psilocybe Azurescens mushrooms.

I only smoked 2 joints after that.

I don't smoke every day so my receptor sites aren't clogged up.
I find if you smoke all the time you never get the same effect.
