Here is the three month post harvest followup on my Kali Chinas:

Previously I said the taste and smell were low; it's come back stronger and better with curing. It's now a nice lemon incense with also some liver or onion? It's a pleasure to vape, certainly the best tasting of all the bud I have right now. The high of both the tall and short phenos have mellowed - I don't get big bursts of sunshine energy from the tall pheno like I did at first. The tall pheno is still my favorite, more euphoric and energetic. The short pheno is a bit more sleepy/dreamy.

Overall, it's an easy to grow, fast and well balanced hybrid with great flavor. I still greatly prefer the taller pheno to the shorter one. I was hoping that Ace Seeds offerings would provide a better alternative to the commercial US hybrids that are usually available in my area, and so far this is true for me. The commonly available US strains tend to make me feel anxious and depressed, or have a muddy and confusing high. I always had to combine them with CBD to tolerate the effects. I don't have to do that with Kali China, the high is more kind, fun, and interesting.

I am putting a couple of Orient Express into flower right now and I am curious to see how a different China Yunnan cross comes out.

My #1 choice for meditation, to happily relax without becoming tired and for bedroom activities so far. Aphrodisiac and very sensual. Highly recommended!
:ying:
The ones I like best have a bit of a candy flip thing going. Perfectly balanced 50/50 strain no paranoia and unlikely to go there despite being rather cerebral. Social works good, staying up late also.
This strain does not end the night early for you.

Probably good to outcross to something racy where it can be a safety blanket.

Since this was mentioned by @gedLang : The terps came back in the cure on some jars where I get some fruit, cake smell, floral when ground (my nose sucks).

Beautiful purple hashplant indica phenotype @Vondelpark :D thanks for sharing pics!
How would you describe her on the nose ?

I made a silly mistake and forgot that Ace recommends a temperature of 20°C for the last 4 weeks of flowering. Unfortunately, I kept it at 25°C day 19 night . Damn. It still smells very incensey, though. Quite special. The clones are secured, maybe there’s a keeper among them.

They also do well under a bit higher temps, but not exceeding 25 ºC.
Glad smells are strong to incense :yummy: hope you find your keeper!

What was the harvest date and the kind of lattitude you are near? If you dont mind me asking
Hello @FilthyDank'Wasteman'Fabul , my outdoor Kali China at 48°N showed first pistils on August 17 last year (picture). She did not finish properly because of unusually wet and cold weather in September and October. Had to cut her down on Oct 1st. Still an acceptable result. So, depends a lot on your climate. Hope that helps.

That most certainly does help!
I had one at 51N in 2023 in the forest (= not 100% sun exposure) and it was too late. Hardly any buds by the end of October. Also she was the only plant that got powdery mildew on her leaves. Nep Jam x Kali China worked very good.
Thanks for the info. I will avoid using this one for my purposes. 56 lattitide and stinking weather when you least need it soooo

I was thinkin annapurna would be a good one to try one day though

I want to try the Annapurna this year, but from all I have read, they will start flowering way too late. We shall see how long they can stay alive in November. In my location we hardly ever get frost, so maybe I can do some seeds and start acclimatising it.

Yeah, some years past thr autumn was very mild and winter didnt really start till a bit later than whats expected. Always kick myself when that happens, could have done something with that opportunity :(

I have read of exceptionally early nepalese highland varieties, still looking. Have purple satellite but want to find baglung aswell

I'm not sure if it's allowed to mention them by name here, but I just saw that a certain danish vendor has gotten a big restock of the Baglung Nepali. They are also on sale right now. :) I have grown it with great success at 53 N and I'm planning to cross it with some ACE varieties that flower a little too late for my latitude.

If it makes any difference my Annapurna was done at 11weeks on 10/12. Possible light dep if you could. Might make it finish soon enough
