man i love jack the ripper. #s 6, 8, 9 have the mutation i always look for. flat petiole pronounced yellow midrib on top and fused fan leaf fingers. comes from the asian hemp side. i recently found it on my outback haze x n. vietnam from dj9
Just letting you know where I'm at right now and will do a more thorough update later.
Will be taking cuts from these females soon and switching to flower.
The monster on the right is R1 and is more than 2x the growth of all others.
Just a quick update on where I'm at.
Been a while and just making clones of them.
High temps were too much to flower anything before.
Probably flip them sometime soon.
I flipped them today. Have clones of most.
Have 7 JTR, one Jacks Cleaner Cut clone, one Malawi clone, 4 Ripper Jacks ( JTR x Jacks Cleaner Cut ) females and one sticky smelly JTR male.
Seeding them all on the first go. They are already big and will be bending them down lots later.
these are really nice ladies. the cleaner is such a great clone line. sub was really good at recognizing great phenotypes and then building lines around the clone. cant teach resin and terps
Saved JTR 14 for it's resin and denser bud. The smell is a bit lemony and fruity.
Bud is seeded. Have a clone and will do it later without a male.
Also, will do seeds from it to see the next gen.
Will also do more of the 2010 F2's and keep searching.
The male used. I got a high female to male ratio. Only had 3 males from 15 seeds.
Saved the most vigorous , sticky and strong smelling male resembling the mother Ripper.
I finished making seed from the two best females. I have the two clones and will be flowing them again soon without a male this time. So I can show more and better pics of them. Also, I have one female from the seed I will flower and show.
What I really wanted to show you is how this seed came out so red.
I will be doing lots more of this seed, as it is one of my favorite plants. I always get nice plants from this strain.
That's really nice you are able to reproduce those strains, I know a lot of people looked down at Subcool's seeds on this forum but I've always enjoyed growing and smoking what I got from him.
I've never made straight JTR only crosses where it was used as the father, my favorite was Ace of Spades ( Black Cherry Soda x JTR). My keeper AOS had an insane taste of berry mixed with lemon, I loved it very much and it was powerful smoke with a strong punch in your face kind of high.
Do you still have seeds of Jack's Cleaner? It's another one who would deserved to be reproduced.
(Sorry for all the notifications from all the Like)
I will be doing a lot more of my JTR seed in the near future. I have a deep love for this strain. Super lemon smell, great resin, long energetic high on a 12 week stretchy sativa. The seed I just did I made in 2010 and I got %100 germination on it. I can't say enough about this strain, as it touches my heart and soul.
I have the Jacks Cleaner cut as seen in the pic and you can see more of it in my albums. I also crossed it with a JTR male. I had a really nice fruity smelling JTR x JC I just did, but it hermed and I dumped it. Have a lot more seed though and will always include the cut in with my JTR reproductions.
I think it's the first time I see some pics of the Jack's cleaner cut, it's one who didn't circulate very much it seems, you're lucky to have this plant in your stable.
These are the two I saved. JTR 14 is strong fruity lemon smelling. JTR 11 is strong lemon smelling.
Also, one seed I pulled off one of them to test. It's a very strong plant with a thick stalk and nice lemony smell. It has 9 leaflets. Beautiful plant.
Plants from this seed grow into vigorous giants or they can be flowered smaller. So if you like growing trees...
Will be flowering these in about a month.
Have lots of pure landrace Thai, Colombians and some Mexican sativas I will be showing/reproducing in the near future. Something to blow your minds.
