also sorry blwoig up this page loll but you say run off u can test the water run off from cups to get accurate ph mesure or is it better to use soil tester itself?

 My bad, I wasn't thinking your girls are in cups. Good thing you mentioned FFOF, because that's what I've been using. I just found out that FFOF gets more acidic as it gets older, which I didn't know till after I destroyed my first grow. It's possible you picked up an older bag. I ask now when new shipments are in, and then try to grab one on the bottom or the back of the lot.

The best thing you can do is flush, but they're so young and in cups there's nothing to flush. Maybe see if you can get some powdered dolomite lime, mix it in with the FFOF you got, and replant them in larger pots.

I'm not saying your FFOF is too acidic, but that's pretty much the way my last grow went. You'll get a nice harvest, just not the harvest you want.

FYI, this time around I couldn't be asking for anything better, and the FF liquid nutes are working too. I'm growing indoors. Let me know how it turns out.

That's it I'll have to remember that myself the soil I used was about year old how can i save them ? Water less or more tap water here is 7.0. Ph should I throw some of that in?

Hmm would u suggest mixing in foxfarm reg soil ? Jesus I hope I don't kill all my baby's these are all limited edition DNA genes I'm not to worried tho cuase it seems to have stopped
But ya I'm switching to fox farm original do we know what's in the ocean forest that make sit act this was cuase I generally like the mix guano, earthworm castings, I believe fish meal wondering maybe I'll make my own mix just less acidic that mean low ph yes?

I got nutrients set to house and garden all the way I got some rock nutes going to run those in Dwc systems I don't plan on harvesting these guys I'm gonna mother them to make clones those are gonna be the ones I grow out then harvest

The year old soil is what's doing it. My water is also 7.0 Ph, but no matter how high the Ph was when I watered, it was a constant uphill battle. That's why I suggest mixing in powdered dolomite if you are going to use that FFOF soil. I never did anything once I had replanted them in the 5 gal. pots, so that's why I'm suggesting you avoid the problems I had. You could also buy granulated dolomite lime, and grind it up yourself, or even better, get a new bag of soil when you transplant them.

Your girls still look great as far as I can see, but as they get bigger, the soil will also be older, and in flowering you don't want all that acidity :toohot: This time around, I took some of my leftover FFOF mix and put it in the bottom of the pots, and covered that with the new soil. As I said, these ladies are doing great  Happy tokin'.

I've only used FFOF, so I can't say. I'm happy with the OF because I got it right this 2nd time around. I'm not even sure what the difference in the two is? Haven't seen the red bag in any of the stores here, but I'm near the ocean and maybe OF is more for humid climates. Would like to see those picks in a month's time. Good luck buddy!

im near ocean here to buddy lol I think near the same ocean

the difference im reading are their other bags are ph balanced and ocean forest dosent have ph balance

red bag actually has same accept for few things I believe
example worm castings /BAT GUANO

Both those ingredients are in the Ocean Forest as well, so it's got to be the Ph. In that case maybe you'll want to use the red bag, because trying to balance everything out after they popped was pretty much a futile effort.

So you're either in Oz, or around the corner from me :D Tis the season to be growing if you're Downunder huh?

after reading more they have different soils formulated for different points of harvest

light warrior - good for germination stage
and another one I cant ge the name that was for flowering cycle

I like oceanforest tho so I think im gonna make sure its fresh and possibly mix with lime dolomite from now on

gonna start seeds in light warrior tho from now on it seems like good formula

I've read that using the OF, you pretty much don't need anything else. I don't know why Fox Farms gets such a bad rap? After my first failed attempt, the results using the fresh bag so far have been fabulous, and with their liquid nute trio the plants have become huge.

I've used OF straight through from seed to harvest, but I'd be interested in seeing what some of their other products can do.

If you get the Ocean Forest, you can skip the lime imo. One less thing to deal with.

ya I would try their nutes but house and garden did so amazing in flood table ebb and flow I would really recommend. I also heard great things nute wise about rock nutes why I picked up starter box to sample in my hydro set up building a dwc to flower my clones in.

also on another side note if ur not using led I tottaly recommend them for veg stage I got 300 watt all my other plants are growing so beautifully check out mars hydro led cheap but pretty reliable

LED reminds me too much of the old disco days, and well, now "disco is dead" haha  No seriously though, I've got some T5s that I'll be using on my next grow. The HPS stretched these babies out more than I wanted.

I've already invested a bunch on what I've got, and I'll have to get pretty damn high to invest more :kos: Thanks for the tip though KL. I'll be coming back to this thread if I decide to change. I have a bud here that uses LEDs too, so I'll keep my eyes open.

Ya I had mixture of t5 and t8 and they can't compare to led with led no stretch the plants have new growth daily I am gonna use 1200 watt led in flower room it's already ready to go my flower room looks sweet besides it is empty lol but I use 300 watt to veg and I'm satisfy hid u have to buy new bulb with led covered with warranties

FF anything gets a bad rap by any of us LOS growers because we can build a soil far superior to what they try and put out. Its overrated garbage in my opinion, commercially bagged fungus gnat infested BS. just simply low quality, as you are seeing first hand. You should not need to question whether PH is an issue, or what deficiency you are having for what they are trying to "sell" to you. its decent enough I guess if you dont have the capabilities to build your own, but I would put my soils up against any FF bagged soil any day.
also, you dont know whats exactly in it or how much. If quality results are important-Build your own. :2cents:

I agree building ur own is always better but I'm sorta urban and I don't know where to find plain old soil
