Jamaican bag seed - have you seen this before?

Nearly every bean I sprout has early seedling trichs... But I sort a lot of dank gear. lol

I think it is also an indication of a healthy / happy environment...the seedling is thriving. The proper conditions allow the fullness of the plant to shine.

I do also believe it can indicate high resin potential, however, not all resin is created equal - this we know.

Here's some good vibes for a stellar find!

I've never seen resin on the leaves as early as I did with that Jamaican male. Resin on the leaves when the plants are a little older is pretty common but that doesn't mean the flowers will smell nice or have a pleasant medicating effect when harvested. I'm just interested to see what he passes on. I'm a straight-shooter, I'll let you guys know if this cross is a win or a loss. There's lots of variation in the phenos of course with this F1 pollen-chuck but I do know that half this cross is friggen solid. Thanks for following along.

I apologize for the lack of pics during this Dumpster/Shim grow but these Ethiopian girls I have going right now are making it hard to move around my garden. Six foot tall and leaning every-which-way.

Below is Dumpster/Shim #1 (DS1), harvested last week. I'll be the first to admit that she's not real photogenic and her aroma is kinda weak too. She's earthy, musty, skunky, with a hint of dark fruit but like I said, it's not a strong aroma and she's only aromatic when shes been broken up for a bowl.

I tested her last night after about a 1 week cure. Normally I like to dry for a week and then cure for a minimum of 2 weeks before I test anything but since she was already pretty damn good, I'll post a quick report.

She has a sweet, earthy taste that is mostly fruity (dark fruit) and I was kind of surprised that her flavor was as prominent as it was given her weak aroma.

Initially there is a pleasant and relaxing head buzz that comes off like a 'numb face' feeling but the dumpster definitely comes through in this pheno as she's heavy, relaxing, and can clearly be felt all over the body. DS1 is not so much stoney as she is numbing. This would be a good 'strain' for stress, relaxation and pain as DS1 just sort of melts your mind and allows you to just veg out. There is also a 'giggly' component to this pheno as I found myself giggling at random thoughts in my head as I was cleaning things up getting ready for bed.

Overall, this pheno feels like 70% dumpster and 30% Jamaican as the Jamaican seemed to add a happy, 'no worries' component to an already excellent strain.

This pheno will absolutely get kept for at least a few rounds and get passed on to my testers for their impressions. While these indica-dominant phenos/strains aren't my thing, the giggly part of this pheno made it fun. Given how this first pheno smoked, I'm excited to try some of the more sativa-dominant girls.

She yields well but she's not all that pretty:

Her flowers look pretty solid, IMO:

The true genetics in Jamaica come from India first then later the dutch seeds where introduces into the mix and since then there is much cross pollination from everything lol headband 707

So the plant above got kept for a few rounds but upon further testing, she's getting let go. Here is the front runner at day 30; DS5. Her growth structure is predominantly influenced by the Jamaica, her aroma is about 50/50 Jam/dump, and her bud and resin production seem to be near half and half as well. Updates to come!

beautiful seedling, velvet leaves, sturdy stem... hope you get a lot of ladies, the phenotypes should , hopefully, offer some hints as to origin. You never know what you will get in Jamaica anymore as so many strains are brought in ( I lived there for a lot of years).

I've got a couple hundred beans left and a clones of the plants above. Pollen-chucking on a hobby-scale is a lot of fun!

I don't really know how seedbay works. I gifted some of these beans out, if they're as happy with the cross as I am, I'll look into possibly sending some in.
