I've never found a single vitamin or supplement that noticably changed my health

wanna feel better . start juicing no not roids a juicing machine . my acme unit croaked. either getting the juiceman unit or maybe the one montel is pushing

I had a boss that started juicing one day. Loved it. He said he couldn't sleep the first two days because of all the energy. I suggested he should cut back on the cocoa leaves.

i've had great results with aloe vera juice, for gerd/acid reflux. i drink it before each meal and no more pain. for months i was hurting bad and decided to give this a try before hitting up a doctor.

glad i did. saved my ass some money, im sure the doc would had me popping this pill and that pill. been there.

Yup. This works, although it's not really a vitamin or supplement. Works on burns too. Good for sunburn.
 
I tend to remain "in the light", and this manages to still help me shine even brighter. I've dabbled as a raw foodist, and worked in the health foods trip for a while. So here's what this anal certified hippy recommends:

Vitamineral Green ~ It is the shit.

The company is the best out there and has other effective offerings as well. Do yourself a favor and pick some up. Seems a lot more expensive on line, try your local health food store first, if they don't have it ask them to order it. If you're in like the mid-west or bfe somewhere then you'll have to get it on-line I guess. You can get small jars for really cheap (under 10 bucks) to try it out from co-ops. Tastes good, I mix it in rice milk with a little agave and some hemp protein. my 6 year old loves it - which means it does not even remotely taste like shit!

glucosamine does work.

Glucosamine has never worked for me, but I think that may be due to the type of arthritis. I have a rare type, but it does work for osteoarthritis.
From Mayo Clinic:

"Available evidence from randomized controlled trials supports the use of glucosamine sulfate in the treatment of osteoarthritis, particularly of the knee. It is believed that the sulfate moiety provides clinical benefit in the synovial fluid by strengthening cartilage and aiding glycosaminoglycan synthesis. If this hypothesis is confirmed, it would mean that only the glucosamine sulfate form is effective and non-sulfated glucosamine forms are not effective."

There's only one vitamin that a person might tend to be deficient in, and that is vitamin "D". This would typically occur in northern climes, where people might not get enough, or any, sunlight.
So "D" is an important supplement for many, more so for females.
I do notice a difference with fish oil & vitamin "E" (the good kind), as it thins the blood (helps prevent heart attacks, like aspirin) and helps my arthritis.

I would take aspirin if I could, but it messes with my stomach. Proven to help prevent heart attacks, the #1 killer.

i would disagree bigtime. different enviroment and diet cause all kinds of vitamin issues

While taking vitamins may not harm anyone, Scientific American has published study after study over the years showing how ineffectual and worthless they really are to human health.


I hope you are referring to some study comparing taking a one a day multivitamin to not taking one or something, cause otherwise that's a completely baseless statement.

Go search over at pubmed- there are literally thousands of studies showing health benefits of vitamins and other supplements ON HUMANS.

Yes, poor diet would be the exception ,for example, vitamin C cures rickets.
But in most cases, vitamins not only don't help, but are harmful, with the one exception being vitamin D.

Vitamins are rarely harmful - A and Iron are the only ones that you could conceivably poison yourself on.

Check some of the links I posted.
Vitamins are linked to increased prostate cancer and other things.
But they are a huge money maker, so why tell the truth about them? I think we all know how corrupt big pharma is.
