It's the Climate, stupid

You must be delusional because you have never logically tied your CO2 in a grow tent hypothesis to atmospheric gases. Just some silly blather about it not raising the temperature in a grow tent - 'so there that proves it'
Hempy's methodology for deductive reasoning and testing hypotheses is... a bit looser than most persons claiming curiosity over scientific matters.

somehow he's thinking his 90w ufo light is somehow as powerful as the sun which puts out something like 700w per sq meter on average....there's some sort of analogy about dim bulbs here...

You mean YOUR 90-watt saucer is -not- on par with the Sun, uncle? I'd ask for a refund.

Shit, I grow 60-ft.-tall palm trees under my 90-watt LED saucers...... in a 6-ft.-tall box, no less. :)

Please how many windmills does it take? Or solar panels. I'm surrounded by 4 windfarms. I can guarantee no more are going in. They can't even get the power lines ran.

Anyone thinks that renewable energy can fulfill fossil fuels place is dreaming and only repeat BS they heard. At least with the current forms of energy generation.

How about all the trees they grow in the SE USA to turn into wood pellets then ship to the EU as a renewable fuel? Makes sense doesn't it?
id agree its certainly a long way from perfect so far ,
its an infant industry after all and things will improve ,
humans are good at steadily making improvements ,
especially when their world may be at stake ,,

sounds like you are saying why even try because its not perfect already,
so we may as well just give up and watch the world burn right??

you got any ideas on improvements , or are you just that guy that sits back poo hooing the folks that are giving it a shot ??
bit of a mondays expert kinda guy hey ,
your certainly a lot less helpful than those wind farms and solar panels ,
hence my original statement you guys need to be put to use taking advantage of the effluent that comes from your mouth and in some spinning cage that generates a little power,
at least you d be good for something then right ??

The solution is fairly simple. Each property needs to have its own source of power generation, be it solar, wind or water. This is being used brilliantly in many locations.
I designed a system for a farm some years back where tractors could be converted to electric with battery banks being charged by solar and gases produced by farming residue (leaving valuable compost behind).
Wind and solar 'farms' are IMO a little inefficient.

How the hell do you cancel out of replying to a post if you hit reply by accident?
i hit "edit" then erase the entire post (posters name & everything) that had come up to be quoted, then leave. they need to put back the old "review post/cancel" option that was here before. :tiphat: that would be/was simpler...

Bullbats/Nighthawks were very common in S. Florida when I was a kid. I have not seen nor heard one for many many years. Their swooping sound is unforgettable. I did not realize their population had decreased so much.
Yes, sad; they are one of my favorite birds, many evenings being a great source of entertainment as the sunlight faded. It is amazing that their migration path takes them from as far north as Alaska to the rain forests of South America. There are many bird species in rapid decline, caused by mankind's greed; clearcutting forests, belching fumes, using pesticides, over-harvesting natural resources - on and on.

As mentioned previously, in my youth the skies were filled frequently with spectacular murmurations of various species; lost probably forever.

Some may try separating out climate change from these other issues but in reality they are interconnected. Rapid climate change is not about a carbon tax, no matter how much some would love it to be so; And so what if it happened previously?

I remember the “air” of the 70’s. Made. It hard to breath in the cities. While I don’t know about climate change, man does make a difference. I’ll follow the science. It’s at least 51% correct.
It’s a party to end though. If only a few care, they’re the ones that will go without. Sacrifice your whole life to care for the land and they put up a Walmart for the community to celebrate. It has to be a religion. Otherwise unfortunately, it doesn’t matter. You will not be rewarded for doing the right thing. We will wipe ourselves out, but we’ll be back in a few hundred thousand years of future evolution. Then we will do it all over again.

If all you got is windmills and solar panels they yes why even bother. Both need 100% load backup from somewhere, and batteries isn't it either. And if either were a viable source for full time use there would be no need for subsidies.

I'm all for renewable that is local or individual level but we aren't there yet for utility wide scale. Let me know when they start using Tesla's patents. or beam energy from space.

And then you still are dependent on the feed coming to your house or business. In the end electricity is not an primary energy source as it always needs some other means to be generated and cannot be easily stored. You will be at the mercy of the electric company.

If you lived around the windfarms you would not want them either. Same with the transmission lines. In Illinois it's up the county zoning.

fossil fuels WILL run dry. it is just a debatable matter of "when". do you not understand that it is better to have something else up & running BEFORE the oil pump sputters to a stop?
Well they have been talking about oil running out for as long as they have been talking about the climate changing. And they keep finding more oil and keep changing the climate narrative.

So where is the electricity going to come from? Illinois didn't even include their 11 nukes in their recent climate change legislation. How many windmills do you need for a 1GW generator that runs at 95% 24/7?
