It's the Climate, stupid

You are welcome to shop at whatever store you please! Buy it or don't, CO2 is a well know greenhouse gas, but obviously not the only climate driver.

The "resolution" on the 800,000 yr time frame is excellent (actually went a couple 100,000 years back recently, with ice cores from Greenland est. 2,000,000 yr old), which is why it is used.

But here you go:

Note the blue boxes in the upper portion -- these are the ice ages.

Within the Age of Mammals:

Study of ancient climate suggests future warming

Do high levels of CO2 in the past contradict the warming effect of CO2?
CO2 is good for plant growth, but try to find a graph of sunspot activity, which goes back further than the graph I have.

To all those saying that climate change is natural, well yes absolutely it is. No one is denying this, least of all climate scientists. What is argued though, is that current rapid changes are brought about my man.

For those of you who believe this is a hoax, what is so hard to understand? We have 7.5 billion people burning various things for energy (oil, coal, gas, wood, cow dung), and at the same time cutting down forests (such as the Amazon, lungs of the world) and depleting the ocean, all with an atmosphere that effective goes up (I think I read) about 60 miles?

Verdant Green's post above is spot on. It's a culture war unfortunately. After reading about the "inconvenient truth", it took me some years to understand that it was not only the message that was a problem, but the messenger.

There are massive vested interests at play, that are only concerned with maintaining profits for shareholders. Short term profits at the expense of future generations.
I almost completely agree. But, we also have one billion cows farting. That's only cows. Elephants are out there to consider, too, not to mention termites that happen to generate more CO2 from their farts than cows!

It's a very complex question with numerous unknown answers. But, for now anyway, this human will remain focused on what we actually know. Not what government officials, philanthropists, or politically and financially motivated scientists (like Bill Nye for example) have to report about it.

The Earth's climate is changing. That's certain. It has been changing since it's inception. That's true too.

Everyone thinking and discussing this topic today will be dead and gone before we know the true answer. In fact, we'll very likely have flung ourselves like spores in the breeze into space to colonize there. Too many people here on the planet just adds to too many cow and elephant butts blowing wind that is detrimental to Earth's atmosphere.

Balance is one of humanity's largest existential difficulties. We'll either figure out a way to equalize the scale, or continue to suffer. I'm betting on a continuation of suffering. We've been doing it that way for a long, long, time and have become quite good at it.

I think this is truly an excellent and relevant topic for the cannabis communities. We're not only impacted by it, but we're contributors to it. Just not as big a contributor as some are led to believe.

And, that, too, is just an opinion. For me, it's not just any opinion, though. It's my opinion. I have a perfect right to that opinion and stand tall with it.

[sarcasm]And evolution and intelligent design are both just theories of equal value right? [/Sarcasm]
I don't want to tar all Americans with the same brush, but it's tempting to tar the idiots with the same flag. Anyone from outside the USA a denier?
Sorry stepping out again.

Warmer temps lead to more cow farts. Cow farts don't lead to warmer temps. If CO2 warming theory was true (which, of course, it isn't) your grow tents would get warmer if you add CO2. But, they don't.
your hypothesis is plain stupid because the co2 in grow tents is not co-mingled covalently and non-covalently with other gases in a holding pattern.

I got weather statistics for my area since 1980. There is no temp rise or excessive rain when averaged out. Almost all records for my area are from the 1950s.

Use to be 90 bushels an acer for corn back in the day. Now they are getting over 250 sometimes, and easily get the 90 bushels when in drought.

And water vapor is THE BIGGEST greenhouse gas. What you gonna do about that?

i think climate change deniers spend most of their lives in climate controlled areas and not much time out in actual nature...i know i've personally seen millions of acre of forest die off from spruce bark beetles after years of unusually warm summers as well as seeing what's happening as the permafrost melts in alaska...here in the desert, the rio grande is just a sandy ditch, they won't let out water until june this year, typically irrigation season starts in march....and all the extreme weather events happening nearly constantly is hard to ignore...without serious cognitive dissonance,or just plain stupidity
#fuckyourbigasspickups

In a nutshell (cause we know deniers are nuts)
they (deniers) for the most part do not grow their own food
Their perspective would change if that were so

Here near Salem, Or. I have farmed this same property over 27 years
back to back records for driest April last year to wettest April on record this year
3 day all time record HIGH temps 108 112 and 117 F last yr
Its not climate change
climate chaos is what I am seeing

However Hempy, please do go ahead and explain for us stupid people how using CO2 in a grow tent can be related to gases collecting in the upper atmosphere. (hypothetically creating a barrier)
