Well something I have been thinking for a while was confirmed today.

The plant that I received as GG4 a while back and did one run of, is no way the true GG4. It's no way close. First, far to big yield. Second, no where near enough resin, but mostly the flavour or I should say smell, is like comparing apples to oranges. The cut I had was quite bland and like a generic sativa. The actual cut is very chem like. Super super sticky. Smelt absolutely fire. Really stinks. So, I'm no longer writing off the gg4 but the cut that I had was complete bunk.

No worries. There is certainly no mistaking the real glue. It meets the hype unlike the cookies.

That was from the same Source as me. ..There was Vast amounts of Resin and Identical in Everyway too the 'many' Others pictured On the Gg4 Thread.. Identical with growing Opinions too I.e Vigor,stretch,ease of Rooting,finishing time..

I'm wondering if you were accidently sent the " DUD " Cut because mine 'kind of' meets your description of her she "was" Known as Not being a Really Stinky Strain tho!?

from my understanding the glue cut can dud out at will. one offline grower i know grew her twice, one was great and the other was rubish. also hgo has the same cut and loves it? its a funny one but not one im bothered about not growing. stoneys cut of gg5 looks promising.

my gg4 cut came out reeking and tasting of that chem funk but hermied on the lowers and gave me four s1's. The second time round she dudded out on me and came out exactly how you described just like a bland generic sativa..a totally different plant to the previous grow so dropped it, i dont have time for them unstable cuts.

My gg#4 hermied on bottom budsites,was the only healthy looking plant in my tent. I just put it down to me being shit and got my ear chewed off on the gg#4 thread. They got all defensive about the plant after I had already said it was my fault and I fucked her up lol. I just don't think gg#4 takes any kind of stress. I did snap my plant in half by mistake while in veg ,maybe that's what caused her to get her balls out.

Hello mates!!! I am in NYC area. GG4 thread is very cliquey, and they do not tend to help strangers.

If I think of anything else useful, will edit this post.

Regarding duds - I was on dud thread for about 4 months, before it was shut down. I did not even have cuts then. str8edge and I researched all claims, and found no proof of anything. Retrogrow still insists it is stem nematodes, but no lab results in over a year support that. It got very argumentative, and Payaso shut it down.

It is very hard to grow it to award winning results. I am on 4th grow.

First - Was a flop, and cured, turned brown, and was very leafy. That was first time I ever tried coco coir, and PH and PPM/EC were all over the place (high than low, from trying to treat like hydro). Was good high, but not award winning.

Second - Tried flood and drain hydro again. Brutal winter, and area got into 40's F at night, and was not heating the res, which hit as low as 50F. That grow was abortion. Almost no bud production. Culled at about 45 days, since it was so bad.

Third - Coco again in airpots. Got better at coir. Had problem with PH and PPM/EC meters. PPM battery was dying, and still worked with almost no power, which gave wildly incorrect readings. PH was testing at 7, but not at 4, and that was off also. It was leafy, but very good bud, and trim leaf was coated with resin.

Fourth - Coco again. I learned about VPD. I had my lights way to close (6 foot room). Tops should not be above 80F, and according to VPD chart, about 65% humidity. This was kick ass and very little leaf on buds. I got 1450 grams off 1200 watts, but 300 was from under scrog, and was crappy.

P.S. - If runoff was more than 200 PPM or .4 EC high, used florakleen to rinse during grow.

This is what I did different, last time -

VPD, fans blowing at level of tops, added silica product, added cal/mag product.


Here are other things supposed to help -

They use insane amount of light. For veg not so much, T5's. For bud grow, the experts throw 1000 watts on a 5 foot square. They want a gram or more per watt.

Screen of green, or sea of green. That helps support the large buds, if grown right.

.7 EC or 350 PPM to start. Topped off at 1.2 - 1.3 EC or 650 PPM.

The plants will double to triple, after switching to 12 hours.

The cuts will grow 2 different ways. Either straight with little branching, or very branched and shorter.

Shave the legs. They cut everything under the screen, off. Supposed to give more growth to tops. Should be done 14 - 20 days after flip to flower. By done, I mean completed. Anything weak under scrog, should be taken as needed. But want bare, 3 weeks in. It stops growing 3-4 weeks of flower, then goes pure flower grow.

Taste changes if harvested after 63-65 days of flower.


There is a user in lower NY state, that gave GG4 cuts to a bunch of friends. They come and buy it from him, because he does it so much better.

P.S. - All grow with coir, had massive amounts of fungus gnats. Used gnatrol, which did not do the job. Used mosquito dunks the 4th grow, and finally killed them off. I am using mosquito dunks proactively now. Bacteria eats them from inside, then mutiplies.

Using General Hydroponics Flora series - Micro, Grow, Bloom, Rapidstart, Diamond Nectar, Liquid Koolbloom, Floralicious, Florablend, and koolbloom powder for ripening (has a little N). Mentioned earlier a cal/mag product, and GH ArmorSI (silica).

I hope you do not mind me posting here. I am 50% English, genetically.

Yea me to lol itis what itis! This dud things a strange one indeed. I'm just hoping it's either bad growers/conditions or fakes=duds tbh but I would say that.. Either way mate there's many more dank cuts waiting to shine.

I'm praying the sourcecomes through for us! Worth a test.. Dudding can't spread can it????(lighter n spray at the ready)

Sonics pics of gg4 look right and nothing like the one I had. So I'd say sonics is a good plant. I shall see.

Yup it was the pics he posted which spurred me on to ask him for the cut when I knew we'd be in the same place at the same time.It seemed mad not to ask and he kept his word and shared even though I had never met him before.A decent fella.

I've got the GG4 and its never produced any male flowers its an average yielder and it defo correct, its caked in resin tastes nice and is strong although not quite as strong as the resin may suggest its never changed in the slightest. Not sure whats happened to your GG4 herb as I'm sure theres not loads of different ones going about in fact one of your mates is growing the same cutting and likes it. Don't really go for this dud theory. Don't worry folks the GG4 out there is correct grow her healthy and you will be pleased.
