When 19 passes, I'm looking to form a canna-resort, the worlds first doob ranch with guided grow tours, Canna coffeeshop / music venue, canna restaurants and a canna brewery. People all over the world will be coming to California !!! Tourism will skyrocket bringing a huge boost to our economy. It will be amazing !!!

The fact that Prop 19 creates criminal penalties for growing weed that are harsher than the penalties aggravated rapists receive is directly on point.

Why should he go lobby for longer rape sentences when what he wants is to persuade this community that APPROVING excessive criminal penalties for cultivation is IMMORAL.

Why would any ICmager vote for a law that would imprison a grower for 7 years? Why would an ICmager want a grower in prison for longer than a rapists?

You claim that the NEW IMPRISONMENT of growers that you support is less prison time than a rapists receives, yet you don't sight any information that would demonstrate rapists receive longer sentences than the 7 years imposed under this Prop.

A yes votes sanctions the imprisonment of growers it is very disheartening that ICmag would ever lend its name to a bill that would imprison its own members.

:joint:
Well, its not for growers, but for people who share their joints/bud with others like 16 and 20 year olds and stuff. But same point pretty much, they are non violent drug criminals.

I think some punishment should be in order for this event, but not prison, and not longer then other crimes.

absolutely incorrect!

prop 19 is intended to limit enforcement and application of existing law.

and btw 19 actually references p.c. 272a1 by saying 272a1 is unaffected.

so passing a joint to your highschool friends remains the same crime with the same penalty.

please stop lying?

Lol I didn't lie.
I suppose I misunderstood the exact technicalities of it. How is limiting not changing?

So the existing laws Ca recreational cultivation laws will not be changed at all? How does this work then?

Also, I dont believe anyone should be able to tell me what I do in my house. Who has the nerve to tell me what to do in my house?
T&RC2010 does, and many here on ICMag agree that they can stick their finger in my house and tell me/the state what to do. Refer to my second sig line.

ummm they are telling you NOW what to do in your house.
right now they are telling you NO PLANTS!
tc2010 changes that.

but you want to be told what you are prohibited from doing in your house?

you "libertarian" argument should be for tc2010 it lessens government control

Not to try and diminish your drama, but ICMag endorses this Bill because it will allow thousands of our members to grow and smoke their own Cannabis with out fear of arrest, loss of homes, loss of jobs, and all the other stigma that goes with it.

But you put any spin on it you want.....

Give a 17 year old a joint to smoke, you can go to prison for several years...Rape his sister and you could probably be out the next day if not several months. Sound fair? Then vote yes

get off this high horse. the length of sentence isnt the fault of the law is the fault of the Judge.

fear mongering again. its all you got.

I want everyone to grow without fear too :jump: :blowbubbles:
You wont have fear as long as you play by their rules btw. Its not totally fearless.
Jobs can still piss test you and fire you based on their HR policies.

And who is loosing their homes in Ca for doing what prop19 will make legal?

I'm not trying to be argumentative, just discussing some pretty substantial laws that are going on my (among others) ballot this November

the implementation and enforcement of existing recreational marijuana law is limited by TC2010.
that is what it means when it says

"
1. This Act is intended to limit the application and enforcement of state and local laws relating to possession, transportation, cultivation, consumption and sale of cannabis"

to hard to understand?
ambiguous?
no its not.

Really how long does it take to tour a 25sq' garden and do they really need a guide?

I hope you don't have any "Concentrated" mj (hash, edibles, or beverages) because ANY "Concentrated" mj is a felony (not changed under Prop 19 as far as I can tell).

Where will this resort be? Probably not in San Diego as that beach town is not MJ business friendly so I don't see you getting licensed.

Even if prop 19 didn't have ALL the problems mentioned above and you were able to get licensed and not bothered by state or local pigs, the Feds would still turn your Club Med into Club Fed.

Better hold off investing those millions on the resort until the feds change their rules.

The DEA is making busts in CA every week and will not stop because of Prop 19, in fact they will probably increase their enforcement actions in CA because CA will be OPENLY violating their LAWS!

But make sure you announce the opening of the doob ranch. I'll show up and buy the legal OZ from you, and help you build your defense fund.

I'll answer that for you.

A member here got caught with a three plant grow and was arrested. His job found out about the arrest and fired him. He couldn't make his payments and his home was foreclosed on.

Under this Bill he would have never been arrested. Clear enough?

Um.. We are fighting for freedom, I dont have a choice to turn it on. I have a choice to accept extremely limited freedom, or wait for something less limited. I will never get 100%, masses wouldn't know what to do with themselves.

So we've already made this point, that some are ok with less freedoms while others aren't. That is the basis for a lot of this discussion. I dont have a choice as to what the existing laws say, but I do have a choice when we go to change them.

If you post any more lies in this thread you are going to be asked not to post in it. Is that understood?

b) “Personal consumption” shall include but is not limited to possession and consumption, in any form, of cannabis

WAIT for the FEDS? Holy crap, unbelievable that you'd even suggest such a thing, has nothing been learned from CA's history? F that.
Everything you are saying is currently the status quo anyways, the net benefit of Prop 19 is extremely positive, unless you are in it for the $

See you haven't even read the whole prop. Liscensing and permits are left to localities and hash and edibles are covered and legal under 19.

At least read what you are opposed to!!! How can we take you seriously when your own statements prove you are speaking on assumptions rather than facts.....

no its not.

If they want to LIMIT enforcement why is there specific language for the localities to FUND enforcement of MJ laws with licensing fees raised from new business established in accordance with Prop 19.

The answer is there is NO desire to limit enforcement of laws. The whole concept is ridiculous. Either something is illegal in which case the police have a duty to enforce the law or that thing is not illegal.

So what does LIMIT enforcement mean? Only arrest minorities or poorly dressed people for MJ offenses?

What are the limiting factors? The pig has to think you have more than 25' or more than one ounce? If that is the only thing limited than the CA pigs will have more overtime than ever.

when the feds kicked in my door i had a choice to roll over.

but a slave given a choice at freedom who chooses bondage...
pathetic.

How was he arrested? The legal minimum limit is 6/12.

Or was he not playing by the rules? If you dont play by the rules of T&RC2010 you can go to jail and loose your job and not make payments on your house.

And there are sob stories everywhere. Thats one person, and it sounds terrible, I'm sorry whoever that is. But I'm not about to sign my name on a junk bill when we can/will do better. Why do you think this bill has so much opposition from cannabis users and non cannabis users? Just not many talk out about how bad it is because they get flamed all day long.

If this bill passes, it wont be by much (I predict, could be wrong). So I guess there will be some happy, and about the same amount of people unhappy. Welcome to USA :dance013: lol.

At the end of the day, I'll defend all your rights to vote and say whatever you please, and I dont want anything in these threads to go negative because the point is to grow as a community, not get against each other.

I'd pass a blunt and a pipe around if I could :smoke out:

very true, but we aren't offered freedom. We are offered a 25sqft area to walk around in.

And we aren't slaves. Funny how you would relate us to slaves. The government is supposed to work for us. We have lost control and this gives them more control. We need to pull in the reigns on this beast and put it in its place.

This will be the last time I say this. Not everyone wants to lie to a doc to be able to grow and smoke. Some of you are so consumed with 215 you forget there's others that aren't....

19 will allow millions the right to legally grow and smoke their own Cannabis.....
